I had a good experience thus far with Serrano Master Deck. The business owner, Oscar, and his team obtained the required permit and built our deck as promised. The deck passed inspection and looked good and sturdy. The things we asked them to fix, they fixed. There is a minor painting task not done due to inclement weather (snow and cold and windy weather) but he got me the paint and promised to come back when the weather conditions are optimal for painting. When he collected the last payment, he reminded me that if we need any repairs or there are any problems during the warranty period to call him and he will take care of it. Recommended.

Serrano Master Deck is top-notch! They provided a great product for a fair price. The project included a 20' x 16' paver patio with a rounded sitting wall, and stone steps connecting my side patio to the backyard patio. The owner, Oscar, and all employees were very knowledgeable and professional. They arrived timely each day, then ended the day leaving the project site clean and neat. I appreciated Oscars frequent communication, and fast response time to any questions and comments. I would highly recommend them for your next project!

Oscar and his crew were fantastic to work with! We had a pretty extensive project in which we were building a new screened in porch with flagstone floor, large herringbone brick patio with retaining wall all around. Oscar was extremely responsive and his communication was great during the project. He always picked up or returned calls/texts right away. His crew always showed up and completed our project in a very timely manner. If you don't have to read the rest of the review, here's my two liner: Serrano Master Deck are THE best deck contractors in the DMV area. Ive done the research and called many contractors and read reviews before Serrano, and you need to stop shopping around for other contractors because these guys are the real deal!We recently moved to Maryland and I was researching deck contractors to renovate an existing deck. My nature is to be very skeptical about reviews and contractors in general, but I read some amazing google reviews and gave Oscar at Serrano Deck a call. He was very professional, gave me reasonable estimates and timelines for the work.During the actual construction, the contractors take their work seriously and are very professional. Since this was a large 1000 sq ft deck remodeling (replacing an old deck over 30 yrs old), he was always following up and making sure our requirements were met along the month long project.My wife and I made some small alternate decisions during the build and the team was very receptive and professional to adjust accordingly.Homeowners know this more than anyone else: Good contractors are hard to find, but once you find them, it's good to stick to these guys and pass on the good word.If you have anything deck related in Maryland, DC, Virginia, hire Oscar Master Deck LLC!! You won't regret it!

After getting 7 quotes from different Decking companies in the first quarter of 2021, I am so happy we went with Serrano's Decking. Oscar, the owner, gave us a fair quote, especially with the price of material going up, he worked with us to keep it close to our budget. We wanted the Deck/ Screened in porch built before Christmas to celebrate a safe holiday with our family outside and Serrano Deck Delivered 2 week in advance. They were very efficient with inspection days and delivering materials, we barely had days when the crew wasn't working. Oscar and his team are hard working, courteous and very professional. Update: I would give them 4.5/5. The company is very responsive to your complaints so they fixed all the things listed in the original review. It was a lot of back and forth but at the end, the deck is now all done and has all the repairs. I already recommended them to my neighbor who was asking me about our experience.---------------------------------------------When I review a company, I ask myself whether I will use them again in the future or recommend them to my friends. I personally would not use them again for elevated decks but possibly for a floor patio area.The paper work process was okay. I did have to do the HOA permit but Serrano does the county permit process.The actual deck work took about a week or so since it was still winter time.The groundwork/digging/cement work was also good. This was done in February so there were few nicer days but also cold days. On the contract, it does say they’ll provide their own power and water but they did use our electricity and water.I think my main issues were the finishing touches. There were few miscommunications here and there but if the final product looks good, I would have been happy. I did like that the nails are not visible from the front view and some choices they have made aesthetically but wasn’t happy with few things. Since my deck is on the side of the driveway, we see the underside of it all the time. The edge work and one of the PVC post sleeve (we got 4) got damaged. I complained but the patched up locations (one on the bottom and one on top) are still noticeable and some of the uneven edge works got sanded down rather than being replaced so I honestly don’t want to request another fix. Oh, and there was a noticeable gap on the siding where the ledger was placed. They filled it up with silicone but compared to other houses, it is noticeable.The top of decking, railing, and joist work were all fine and the seating area looks good with minor scratches that they came to smooth out.All of the workers are easy to talk to and nice but they speak more fluent Spanish. So if you speak Spanish, communication may work better for you.Service: Deck installation

GOOD PRICE, GOOD SERVICE: Serrano deck was recommended to me by neighbors for replacing an old wooden deck with a trex one. Oscar (the owner) was quick to respond to all texts and calls and to build an estimate. He offered money-saving solutions while working in the estimate, and helped us as we prepared the application with our HOA (which is very strict). I did my due diligence and collected bids from other deck companies and found Serrano’s pricing to be the most competitive. Got my deck done in 2022. Owner Oscar was nice to talk to at first. I made specific requests. But each time different crew show up, have no clue. Not much supervision. There are some good crew but some have very poor workmanship and manners. Really pissed me off when he requested to make payment without even final walk through, and unfinished work. Maybe I was an unlucky customer. But Cant recommend the company.

We really enjoyed our experience with Serrano Master Deck. They were very responsive, friendly and professional. When we bought our house, we inherited a very sloppily painted, hideous orange color deck. Serrano Master Deck did an amazing job sanding (and even grinding) that color off and re-painting. They also replaced our railing with black metal spindles. I've posted the before and after photos...hopefully the pics speak for themselves! (They are planning to return to finish painting the rail cap...it has to sit for a while because it's pressure-treated wood).

Although our new deck design is straightforward, construction involved a complete demo of an old deck and foundation, and we wanted the rebuild to adhere to the County's fairly rigid permitting and inspection guidelines. We also chose to use all synthetic materials (TimberTech Harvest Slate Gray flooring and PRO Legacy Pecan cocktail rail; Trex Transcend railing system), so we were especially concerned to ensure a level of workmanship that would produce a final structure as "authentic" as possible in both appearance and function. Fortunately, out of five different proposals we chose to go with Serrano Master Deck, and thanks to their professionalism and expertise all of our expectations were met with a minimum of stress. Oscar Serrano was very helpful in the planning stage, and made a number of recommendations that improved upon our original ideas. Actual construction work was performed by Danny Achoa, Gilberto and Marvin, who went about their business like a well-oiled machine and were considerate and pleasant to have around. We highly recommend Serrano Master Deck for your deck construction project.

Getting a deck built was an overwhelming project for a new home owner like me, and I did not have any idea about possible customizations, design options and material choices. Oscar walked me through everything patiently and was really responsive over text messages as he was answering my 100+ questions! We chose Oscar based on the 5 star ratings that we saw online and also we saw the work he did with our neighbor's deck which was a really awesome project and they had also nice things to say about Serrano Master's work.There was some delay with the county permit (Montgomery County) and some confusions over getting the approved permit released, but that was on the county -- once it was released, Oscar's team started the work within two weeks as promised.Danny and Jilberto were the guys assigned for my project and they were really fun to work with. Danny was really friendly and had no hesitation in taking the time to explain something whenever I had questions. He also made sure I was satisfied at every stage of construction and was ready to make minor adjustments whenever needed. They finished up the work in 2 weeks (we had some rainy days in between where they couldn't work, in total they needed only 5 days of work and a 6th day morning for clean up and final inspection). I did not have to meet the inspector even once as Danny took care of all that. One day after they had the posts dug in with concrete, there was unexpected rain and they were not scheduled to come in that day as we were waiting for the inspection, but they came in anyway to make sure that the holes were filled in before the rain - this showed their commitment to the project.After the deck construction was completed, I got a deck table and chairs and an umbrella, but only after it was delivered I realized that the table had an umbrella hole but the tiles on top of the table did not have a hole for the umbrella. I told Danny this and he even helped me with that by putting a hole in it and helping me with a bush to secure it in the center of the table for the umbrella. Overall, it was a really great experience and we are really happy with the project and the deck turned out great as you can see in the pictures.
