They did a dangerous piss poor job at cleaning up the debris they left behind. Based on my experience with Shanco, including how my project got left off in the beginning, the promise of discounts that never took place, and then blaming it on an employee who left the company, project managers who avoided talking to me, double talk on the cost, the dangerous mess of debris all over my yard, strips of nails from the nail gun, large Staples everywhere (including one that ended up in my shoe), individual roof nails everywhere, Nails in my driveway right where my vehicle is parked, I have a hot tub and there are nails all around the area where we walk barefoot, I had to pay somebody else to come out and actually clean the mess up, roof underlining hanging from the gutters, employees lying to their superiors about coming back to clean up the mess when they did not, from the mess that was left behind in all else I had to deal with , in my experience I have next to no confidence in your company and feel like my project was shortcutted and treated differently because Shanco did not get the money they were expecting for the job. If any one was to ask me, I would not recommend Shanco. Infact, I would highly recommend against it. I sent them their money, so I didn't have get the calls, text messages, and emails that I was receiving about it while waiting for the cleanup anymore since it was their only concern to begin with… Now Go Shanco can be go away Shanco… when I tried to post a bad review on the website for them it kept turning my one star into five stars. So I had to post my review twice for it to pick up what I really said. I wish I could give them a minus five star.

Awesome experience Austin was great to work with. House and garage were done before 2pm. Got me on the schedule in under a week. Install looks great. And they cleaned up my yard cleaner then when they got there. 👍 highly recommend if looking for a new roof or going through insurance.

I waited several months to write this review and I have been very impressed with the service we received from Shanco. When I first was getting quotes on the roof for a repair from other companies they did not go up on the roof they gave me a high estimates for a repair or a replacement. When I asked why the estimate was so high 2 other companies stated it was because they may find additional issues when they are working on the roof but would not reimburse me if they did not. Steve from Shanco actually got on the roof and told me my options and took multiple pictures of the issues with my roof. Shanco's quote was reasonable and comprehensive. We opted to use Shanco for a total roof replacement. Steve was very knowledgeable and answered every question we had. He accommodated our time schedule and moved dates due to rain. The crew was great preparing and navigating through bad weather. When we did have a minor issue with our gutters following completion Steve was immediately responsive and sent a crew out the next day. He continually kept up with correspondence to ensure we were completely satisfied. I think Steve and Shanco are exceptional at their work and I appreciate the time and attention that they gave us. We are planning on using them for our siding replacement.

I had a great experience with Shanco! This was my first time getting a new roof, so I was full of questions. Jeff Y. and Trey C. were patient, kind, and answered my many questions as I combed slowly through the contract. Saundra was prompt and great to work with in getting my services scheduled and changed due to the weather. Alejandro A. called me in advance of the job and kept me updated throughout the day on how everything was going. His team was professional, on time, and did a great job! My next door neighbor observed the team working and how well the job turned out that he is now getting his roof replaced with Shanco as well! What a pleasure to have people with such good work ethics. Managers, crew manager, sales people were so informative and pleasant. The crew redoing my roof were beyond exceptional! On time every day, stayed late on the next to last day and into the 4th day. All in 98+ degrees with heat index of 110!! Never slowed down, only for a very short lunch. Kody Chio, Nick and Craig, all made sure I understood everything, answered every question and all in such a timely manner. From my first contact with Shanco, the free estimate in September 2023, all communications were friendly and professional.We worked with salesman Dan Haske to learn about all of the options and possibilities as well as a timely estimate. We took a long time to finally determine exactly what we wanted and Dan was very patient and was responsive to all of questions and concerns.Chrissie Bartlett did a wonderful job getting the information we needed to help us make informed decisions. We finally agreed to sign the contract in early December.Saundra Barnhard was very helpful supplying us with a list of the schedule and what expect through this process. Working with Antione Hawkins and his crew was a pleasure. His entire crew was very competent and easy to communicate with, especially when I had specific ways I wanted things done, they really wanted to satisfy us. Shanco just completed our roof replacement yesterday. We are thrilled with the results and give them 5 stars in every area. We are usually very thorough in researching firms when we have major work done on our house, and always get at least 3 or 4 estimates. This is our first major job where we got only one quote, and used that company. Several of our neighbors had gotten new roofs with Shanco in the last month. They were all very satisfied, as are we. The staff were fantastic -- a big thank you to Steve Harmon, the sales manager, Alejandro Alvarado, the on-site project manager, and Mario, the crew chief. Steve gave us lots of info about options during the first meeting. His shingle color suggestion ended up looking amazing. The large crew showed up exactly on time, and worked incredibly hard all day. We were especially grateful that they took such great care with cutting out our 3 old skylights and installing the 3 new ones, that we now do not need to hire a carpenter to do repair work inside the shafts. They also took great care to protect all of our landscaping on all sides of the house with huge tarps and did a 100% perfect clean-up when they were done. The final cost, including a lot of plywood sheeting to replace rotten wood we didn't know we had, was just what we had expected. Communication with the office and on-site staff was extremely timely. Overall -- we could not be happier with how the project turned out and recommend them very highly to anyone who is in need of a new roof. Outstanding job all around. Jeff, the General Manager, who handled the billing, insurance, specs, etc. for the job was extremely effective and diligent - he saved me a ton of time and money by basically walking me through every step.When it came time to have the roof replaced Alejandro and his crew were outstanding. Alejandro was very communicative throughout the process, and he seemed to take a personal interest in making sure we understood the work being performed and that we were satisfied with it. Shaneco did a fantastic job with the new roof on my home in Richmond. Jerry helped set the appointment, Jared came out to inspect it and work with my insurance to get a new roof covered, and Tristan managed the install team, even coming back a week later to handle my detached garage that had a power-line/safety complication on the original date. Very professional at every step, highly recommend.

I had the pleasure of working with Roy, my dedicated salesperson. He guided me through the entire insurance process seamlessly. Despite Statefarm initially suggesting a patch-up job for over 20 shingles, Roy advocated for me, communicating directly with my insurance provider to secure full approval for a roof replacement. My experience with Shanco was outstanding. Steve was extremely helpful in discussing the job, costs, and considerations. I had a badly deteriorating and leaking cedar shake roof and Steve came out to inspect the temporary patch job I had put in place to tide me over until my roof replacement could be scheduled. Their price was competitive with several other quotes and they are rated very well in Washington Consumer's CheckBook, but what sold me was their customer service. During the work, the project manager Bruce was very communicative with me before, during, and after the work. The crew had one mishap that resulted in a hole in my drywall ceiling but Shanco took care of the repair at no cost to me. The crew worked very fast (two days) and left my property in very good condition. My neighbors were quite complimentary of my new roof. I'm very pleased with the outcome.Service: Roof installation

We requested an estimate for roof repair and also solar shingles, and also door replacements. The estimator was very professional and informative without being pushy. He provided reasonable advice on what to do now and what could be put off for later. They also provided photos of the roof showing what parts might need work, and the door inspection. This was sent along with a quote for various possible work that we had discussed. After a deposit, a few weeks later they scheduled the repair work and provided before and after photos. Shanco put new shingles (roof) and new siding on my house. It started with Shanco's Justin Vanegas knocking on my door and ended with my permission for him to examine my house for claimable damages due to some storms. After examination, he said that Shanco will be glad to work with State Farm, my home insurance, to see if apparent damages to my roof and my siding qualify for replacement. All I had to do was to give permission which I did, and Shanco will do all the rest. Shanco hired All Claims to file a claim with State Farm. After All Claims' and State Farm's adjusters completed their work, State Farm agreed to replace the roof and the siding. AMAZING. All replacement work was performed by Shanco.Shanco's new roof is beautiful and included a lifetime transferable warranty. The roofers were friendly and courteous. The venting system of the new roof cooled my attic so much so that I can tell the difference on hot days. The siding was also beautiful and had a lifetime transferable warranty. Unlike other vinyl sidings that I'm familiar with, these are insulated, made of virgin material instead of recycled plastic, and are hail resistant. The project managers , Bruce Lemon (roof) and Chad Williams (siding) were very helpful and did a walk-through with me after all work is done. Very professional. The end result was excellent.Thank you Justin for your help. Thank you Shanco for the quality of your products and the excellent skill and competence of your roofing and siding installation teams. Every step - from sales rep, to the home office, to onsite manager, to crew toiling in hot July temps, to cleanup (no nails or debris, spotless!). We hadn't heard of Shandong until a representative came to our door. We ended up getting our roof repaired with them and it was an amazing experience. Our representative, Morgan, was kind and explained everything well. Construction was quick and the roof is beautiful. The work was done very well, questions and concerns promptly addressed and communication was excellent. The work was reviewed by a structural engineer consultant who was very pleased and had no concerns with the quality of the work. The shingles replaced by the Shanco Company on the front Mansard of our Townhouse, have rejuvenated our home and matched the aesthetic architectural design of our neighborhood. This would not have been possible without the guidance from the Shanco Project Salesman who reviewed and took pictures of the condition of the Front Mansard after a major area rain & wind storm, and the Outside Project Manager and team who replaced the Front Mansard Shingles that were dangling and displaced from their original placement.Because of the Project Salesman's experience, they were able to educated me on my options on the type of shingle required for placement, whether Contemporary or Architectural Shingles should be used to match the type and color of shingle in my community of which I had not considered for HOA approval purposes. Having experience with my Homeowners Insurance Company, the Shanco Project Salesman challenged the initial insurance company quote, who omitted Maryland Code requirements other materials, and disregarded potential community HOA necessities that would have rejected my application for approval of my Front Mansard Shingle replacement project.On the installation day, the Shanco Outside Project Manager remained onsite with the team of installers and completed the installation of the Shingle Project in a very systematic and efficient manner following the behind the scene Shanco Company personnel who contributed to the entire final project. I had a very good experience with Shanco. Their estimator, Steve, came out and explained everything about getting our roof replaced. He was friendly and professional, explaining about insurance and liquidated damages. He did not need to explain about the roofing system, since I'd had a roof replaced at a previous house. There was zero hard sell, unlike several other companies I had out to give estimates. Shanco gave me the best "feeling" about all the companies who came out, and they also gave me the best price (equivalent warranty level) of all the estimates. Their scheduler, Saundra, was also very nice and kept me informed about what would be happening. I didn't really interact much with their onsite crew, but they did their jobs and it looks like their did them well. I found a couple of loose nails, but they cleaned up pretty well otherwise—maybe cleaner than before they arrived.A tip to anyone else needing a roof replacement: NEVER hire roofers who come to your house looking for work—they're probably storm chasers, and odds are they'll give you an estimate that's 50% or more above what it should be, or even scam you out of your money. Get a few estimates from reputable local roofers, and include Shanco for one of those estimates.Service: Roof installation

I had an awesome experience with Shanco, the team really came through and provided me a great deal for my roof repair. Randy the Field Rep. worked with me to ensure I understood everything and got the best bang for my buck. He coordinated all issues with my insurance company by speaking the industry jargon helping me avoid any problem with the insurance adjuster.Saudra with the admin department was very responsive with scheduling our repair, she was in constant communication with my wife and I seeing what was most covenant day to install.
