My neighbor had a monster 100'+ poplar that was rotting and hanging over my property. The tree was unsafe for climbing and could only be reached by crane from my yard. I had concerns because ALL tree companies have a "no liability" clause for concrete damage caused by their vehicles entering your property. This crane weighs 40k lbs. I expressed my concern to John. He brought more material then I expected to make sure my driveway was protected. No at scratch or a crack! Thank you John!!Now to the job itself. My neighbor and I had 8 other tree companies estimate this job. The tree was so large and in such a precarious position, only 3 companies were willing to submit a bid. Centurion was the last company. His price beat out the other companies by almost half! I think largely because Centurion owns their crane. All the other companies had to subcontract the crane and estimated about $2200, just for the hired crane. John operates the crane himself on all his jobs and he handled it masterfully!The Centurion crew showed up on-time for their ETA of 0815. They were all professional, courteous and polite. With a chuckle, they even helped me change the blade on my own chainsaw (it was backwards). The wood was left behind so my neighbors and I could share it for firewood. The crew informed me it would be a LOT of wood. I asked them to pile it as neatly as they could and they were able to fit the entire tree in a 20x30 area. Neatly arranged and lined up to make cutting and splitting easier for us.Additionally, as the climber was rigging the next piece to be cut, the crew on the ground were cleaning the yard as they worked. Racking leaves and piling small branches. In the end they used a blower to remove all debris and sawdust from my garage roof and cleared my driveway. Minus the pile of wood, you don't even know they were there.I highly recommend Centurion Tree Experts! John, his son, and the rest of the crew were awesome!

My experience with Centurion Tree Experts was wonderful. From the time John came out to give me the estimate until the job was complete I was extremely happy with the entire process. This was a difficult job that needed the crane on my neighbor's yard to remove my tree. John worked with both of us and took extra care with my neighbor's driveway so not to damage it with the crane. Many companies didn't want to tackle this or quoted 3 times the amount. Not only John but his entire team was very professional, polite, and fun to watch. After being here almost 8 hours for this huge job they stayed to do some other work for my neighbor and I. They did a great job with all the clean-up as well. I highly recommend Centurion Tree Experts!!

During the Boom Cyclone in March we lost a 200+ year old Red Oak. We contacted John and crew to remove that fallen tree, a 100 foot tall additional Red Oak that was leaning and 2 additional white pines damaged by the fallen oak. This is the third time we have used Centurion and each time they have been fantastic! If you need an expert tree company, call only Centurion. If you have BIG trees don't bother calling any other company.Centurion and John are the BEST Option!!

With regards to quality of work and pricing, I strongly recommend Centurion Tree Experts for tree removal. After a very large poplar tree began to fall near my house, I called Centurion Tree Service who had just removed two large trees from the property a mere couple of months earlier. One week ago a microburst weather event came through Nottingham (likened to a tornado) in early evening and a large oak tree fell on our deck/house. John Miley and his crew were at our house first thing in the morning to remove this large tree. Using their crane and expert crew, they cut the tree in sections and lifted them over our house to the front yard. It was quite a procedure to watch. They used care and precision so as not to cause further damage. They were very professional. Their price was very reasonable for the scope of what needed to be done. We were very thankful for their assistance in this. I highly recommend them for any tree work you need to have done.

I was looking for an arborist to inspect our trees and diagnose their condition as part of an estimate to treat our trees. Centurion charges $75 for that service even though their web site says free estimates. Their employee Destiny was friendly as she declined our business and wished me luck getting these services for my trees.

We have used Centurion for the removal of 3 very large trees over the years and most recently the removal of a large dangerously damaged Beech tree that was about 20 feet from our house. The crew was fantastic. They had to bring in a large crane and left our property in perfect shape. They also helped trim up some trees which has let tons of light into our backyard. Centurion Tree Service removed two big ash trees from my front yard. One of the ash trees was 130’. The crew took down the tree while using a crane. When both trees were down and removed I could not even tell their was tree work done in my yard. It was a pleasure to work with John and I recommend them for tree work.5 stars all the way!

Centurion Tree Experts did an excellent job trimming pruning, and installing large support cables in our beautiful silver maple. They were very professional and helpful. They even moved a few of our personal items before working, cleaned up the yard, and front trimmings. A few years ago they also ground a few stumps for us too. Debated if I even wanted to write a review but after a few days I decided that the whole experience just left a bad taste in my mouth.On my initial call I there was a few trees on my property and wanted them "cut back" the lady at the office who answered the phone was nice and very informative. Told me someone will call me back to set up an appointment to come look at the trees.The person who called was nice at first and told me he only does appointments from 12-3pm on Saturdays which is fine. But when I informed him I couldn't do this coming Saturday and would like to set up an appointment for Next Saturday his whole attitude changed. His responses got very rudely brief as he questioned why I wanted him to come over in the first place. He said he read that I wanted my trees "Cut back" on my file and that they do not do that because it is bad for the trees. I agreed and asked what services do they offer. He mentioned all their services from their website one of them being "Pruning & Trimming".This is when I told him THAT is what I meant by having my trees cut back. After that he decided to ignore anything I said then cut me off from speaking saying "I'm sorry we don't do that, We don't do any trimming have a nice day and hung up"I get people have bad days but this just seems very unprofessional. It felt like he blew me off for not knowing the proper terminology in saying "Cut-back" versus "Pruning/Trimming" If that's the case then I'm sorry for not being a professional arborist. I suggest calling another company that doesn't require you to brush up on all the arborist terms before they help.

I was impressed that they called me to set up a home visit, came on that date/time, John walked all around looking at the trees and bushes recognizing disease in some and if it could be treated, they arrived to do the work doing all what they said they would do. John and his son very knowledgeable and offer good advice. John & Tim Miley and crew did not disappoint, in fact they blew us away with expert & precision work on a nearly impossible tree removal situation. We have used their services in the past when trees were close to our former house, and they could remove them out and away from the house with the crane, but had much more land to manipulate... We have since moved to a property is on an extremely narrow lot, with houses and mature trees on either side, and no access from the back because of a body of water. The situation was a 100+ year old oak tree that was diseased and dying. Large branches would fall in any rain or wind; if the tree fell it would crush more than one house, and it could have killed someone. We have to work months on variety of ideas and quotes from other tree services, but nobody could offer the appropriate crane to do the job,We had to deal with many other issues with power lines in the way, and needing to wait for power company to have a scheduled outage for our grid, then postponements because of weather- All through the process John kept me up to date and worked extremely well power company. FINALLY the day came, and we honestly have never seen anything like it! The crane base needed to be stabilized within *inches* of our house, then the arm of the crane up between the power lines and the house, then over and extended out along the other side to reach OVER our house to cut and lift sections for 7 hours over our house! Each section was quite frankly the size of a mature tree! With expert precision and proper equipment a massive tree was reduced to several truck loads of mulch, long timber and a couple more trucks to remove the two story/ 6 ft diameter trunk! Day two was removal of all of the portion above the 2 story trunk, day 2 was loading up the timber, and laboring over sections of the massive trunk to get them to manageable sizes to then be moved with a bobcat along a narrow passage along the side of our house and load into the trucks. I am not kidding when I say that once the massive trunk was on it's side, it was taller than the men working to saw through it!The crew was pleasant, and worked so well together, especially being tested by a stressful situation. They had plenty of experience, strength and intelligence to do the job well.Tree removal is a dangerous business, and one needs to make sure they are getting a reliable company with excellent insurance, as well as experienced workers with quality equipment. THANKFULLY our tree has been removed with no damage to our house (or neighbors' houses) and no injuries. It was an incredible feat, and thankfully behind us!

Over the last two days this week, we had Centurion Tree Experts remove three 70' tall Eastern White Pines, a 30' Juniper, and a 120' tall (54-inch DBH) Silver Maple, which also included grinding all the stumps out. We would absolutely recommend the owners, John Miley and his son Tim, for any and all tree removal jobs in my areas and the Maryland and Pennsylvania regions.In every way, John, Tim and their crew exhibited incredible professional experience and courteousness. There was never any bad language, cussing, or displays of anger throughout the time they were here removing the trees and working to complete the job.All the limbs were chipped up and removed from the property including the large trunks from all the trees, including raking up the leaves and small limbs that fell into the yard.It was fascinating to watch John operate the large crane that is used to hold the upper portions of the trees as his son Tim cuts the top portion so it can be removed and placed on the ground.Please excuse my lengthy recommendation, and I know that there are others that do identical work, but in the future there's no other firm that I would go to for more tree work because of the tremendous job they did!Steve and Karen McCurdyBaldwin, MD 21013
