Overall I don't know whether I would recommend Mr Handyman of Catonsville. I paid 90 dollars for an estimate. It took the company 5 days to get back to me on the quotes, and I found all of them to be fairly substantially higher than anticipated. Wish I could get my money back, but lesson learned. I think part of their business model assumes many clients will solicit the estimate, shocked at the cost, and decide to go elsewhere. The gentleman who came out to my house was very nice though.Example of estimate: $200 dollars labor to install a window blind. Client provides the materials, and Handyman will install the screws for two-hundred. Seems suspect.

This has been a great experience. With the paint tomorrow , the job will be completed early and under budget. This is an older home with a lot of quirks. It required creativity and skill to accomplish the tasks. Excellent service! I originally went with a competitor who quoted cheaper to install a window AC unit and it was a disaster. They basically duct-taped the unit into the window. I learned my lesson and had it reinstalled using Mr Handyman and I couldn't be happier. My technician Anthony was professional and kind. He kept me informed on what he was doing and did an excellent job. Yes, it was on the pricey side, but I know the job is done well. The seal is tight and most importantly, I know it's safely installed. I will be a repeat customer if I need a repair in the future.

Let me preface this review by saying I have only ever left Google reviews to promote friends' businesses in the past, so I'm not a serial negative-reviewer.I received a quote from Mr. Handyman for a medium-sized home improvement that was significantly higher than I expected based on my previous experience in construction and home remodeling. I called to talk through the quote and the representative wouldn't budge. After the call, I reached out to three other contractors for quotes and Mr. Handyman was 2-3x more expensive than each of them. I ended up settling on an all-in (materials + labor) price of $2,500. Mr. Handyman's quoted price was $5,500 for labor only.I usually would not complain, but the last few years (stimulus checks being used for home improvements, generally strong economy) has led some contractors to unreasonably increase their prices. Do your due diligence and look for multiple bids on larger projects.

I was told my technician would be here between 12 and 1:30, and Eric showed up right on time at 12:00. He was so polite and professional. Chimney that needs repointing or total replacement needed to be covered and secured by a tarp until warm weather allows a permanent fix. Marvin applied some sealant to existing problem areas and placed and secured the tarp to cover the chimney. He was a very nice man, and did a great job! Needed a few pieces of furniture repaired. The repairman (Evan) was on time and it took him less than 45 mins to repair the three items I needed fixed. I am truly impressed and would recommend anyone to use this companies services. They even sent a courtesy text with GPS tracking when your repairman is en route to your home. I had the pleasure of speaking with Lateasha one of the owners of the company when scheduling my appointment and she was AMAZING as well. Again I am extremely pleased and the price was really affordable.

The job: removing baseboards and adding new ones to dinning and living rooms, upstairs stairwell and upstairs hallway.I am going to give my review in bullet format to make it quick and easy to read:1. First it was supposed to be a one-day job, 8 hours, which turned into a two-day job. Which means I had to take two days off of work to supervise the work.2. The Handyman cut the wires to my security system while removing the old baseboard leaving me with me security system for a week and I still had to pay for the additional time.3. The work is sloppy, many of the nails are not flushed with the surface of the baseboard and the caulking is sloppy as well. When I asked the Handyman if he was going to fill in the holes he said paint would cover it which is not true. He also left marks and dents in the baseboards and the alignment is off. So, I have to recaulk the job myself and paint it.4. There was no offer to add on painting for the work.5. I price was around about what I thought it should be; but the quality should have been better along with the timing. I paid good money for those baseboards and they should have been handled with better care.6. Also, I asked for an estimate for some work on the bathroom and no one contacted me back.Overall, I don’t think that the quality match the price point, and I am wondering if it was a job I just should have done myself. Or, if I would have gotten someone else to do it for $600 instead of the over $1,300 I paid for the work.Picture to come.Service: General repairs
