I had Custom Concepts replace the siding, gutters, trim, and doors on my house and shed that were originally built in 1900. I know this was an incredibly challenging project for the team but the results are stunning. Everyone I worked with from the office staff to the work crews were friendly, patient, and responsive.Danny was the project manager and he was such a pleasure to work with. He would always be available by phone or email. He also had great suggestions of how to make the house look even better. He came back several times after most of the work was completed to make sure no trash or debris was left on my property.

Mike Swank, Katherine Harper and Danny Harper make up an amazing team over at Custom Concepts. Exceptional attentiveness to us, our questions, and project possibilities. We started our inquiry with them awhile back, considering Hardie siding + insulation + windows. Mike came over in person to view the property and was very knowledgeable about old homes (ours is 1915). He provided a very detailed quote with all costs clearly laid out, and he was attentive to numerous questions we had about preserving the look of our windows and other house details we did not want to lose. He also provided multiple estimates for various siding options. Ultimately, we ended up going with just a major window replacement project at this time (12 windows replaced). I researched and got quotes from several companies, for both siding and windows. I was worried about going with one of the big, national window companies, because I wanted proper installation on a house where nothing is square, and I had heard horror stories about poor installation on old houses (plus the quotes I got didn’t seem honest or straightforward with the other companies). Custom Concepts is a bit more expensive than the big window companies I got estimates from, but the price is still well-aligned, and the service and quality of work were beyond worth it. They installation team was exceptional too. And the cleanup during and after the project was outstanding. We will be back when we are ready for our next exterior project. The close up pic was of the impeccable caulking and fit of our windows. Our old house feels much less drafty.

I contracted Custom Concepts to install James Hardie siding on my house, and they did an amazing job! From my earliest discussions with Mike Swank in planning the project through subsequent implementation supervised by Danny Harper, the company fully met and often exceeded all expectations, which were already high given the recommendation I received from neighbor who hired the company to remodel the exterior of their home and install new windows. The original proposal was detailed and clear, leaving no room for hidden costs later in the project. I especially liked that the company was able to do all of the work needed for the project (wood repair, siding, window replacement, new gutter, painting, and lighting installation). During the execution of the work, the team worked efficiently and always on schedule. The siding crew and painters were highly skilled, and they diligently cleaned the site at the end of every work day. I greatly appreciated their erecting a temporary barrier to accommodate my dog who needed to use the backyard while they were working. Customer service was outstanding! Danny was easily accessible by phone and called back usually within minutes if I had any questions or concerns. If there was anything that needed his attention, no matter how small, he ensured that it was addressed as soon as possible. Custom Concepts Construction, Inc. ( Jefferson, MD) has provided me with a well-deserved remodeling of my home. My forty year old house was in need of major renovations. I am a hands on homeowner. Custom Concepts are so wonderful from the initial interview to the final details of the construction completion. I had interviewed more than ten companies. There were none that had the expertise, quality, vision and incredible customer service that Custom Concepts had with years of tradition and experience. They were very in tune with best practices, material recommendations, and building regulations which were needed in my home renovation of the windows, siding, doors and roofing. They had the knowledge and skill to tackle this project that no other company had, for sure. Not only did they have great expectations but followed through to the completion of reconstruction.The time and patience developing a plan with Michael was impeccably detailed, from providing materials that would best fit my home construction needs and my desires for better quality products. There were suggestion for what may be potential changes to the project as we went through and during demolition and reconstruction of multiple aspects of renovation. I feel that my home is not only better constructed, safe, stronger, insulated, and esthetically beautiful. I think the best in the neighborhood. The temperature has improved throughout the house making me so much more comfortable. The look of my home has more character and design due to Custom Concepts Construction’s (Jefferson, MD), vision. I am already enjoying the rest and relaxation from the fruits of Custom Concepts hard labor from the roof, siding (including supportive insulation), windows and doors. I loved working with custom concepts! We worked with Danny last summer to install Hardie Plank on our entire house exterior. The entire process was smooth, the cost was reasonable, and Danny was happy to advise and add additional scope to the project as we went along. The team installed an exterior door, and replaced the screens on our screen porch and even created a whole new doorway and installed two new screen doors! The worksite was always cleaned up and organized at the end of the day. Danny also kindly met with our exterior painter who would paint the trim along the siding once completed. I have never had a better experience working with a contractor. Period.From the first meeting with Mike from Custom Concepts he instilled confidence in me, asking pertinent questions--including construction aspects I had not considered--and wrote detailed notes. He also explained a lot about the James Hardie fiber cement siding product and his company's dedication to following the manufacturer's recommended installation process. He was also the only one of three bidding contractors who presented their price quote in person with an incredibly descriptive and line-itemized estimate with a break out of materials and labor for each portion of the project. He even showed us a computer mockup image of our home with the siding and trim choices we made.This work was done on a 92-year old bungalow in January-February 2017. It was an exterior project that included replacing two layers of siding (aluminum and the original shake shingles) with Hardieplank lap siding and Hardie trim, as well as reconstructing the front porch with Azek tongue and groove planks and rebuilding the porch columns.Whenever complications arose (which were expected on a house this old with prior renovations including an addition) CCC was very clear in their explanations of the challenges and often provided options at various price points.Frankly, there probably wasn’t a plumb wall on this house but by the time Danny, the project manager, and Nick, the lead carpenter, put their heads together they found solutions to make our home look brand new. I want to add that their crew was courteous, organized and fastidious, even though weather and parking issues sometimes challenged them.It is rare to find a contractor that performs so well on price, quality and timeliness. From their affordable financing options to their well-defined communications and friendly, professional staff, everything ran smoothly despite the large scope of the project.My wife and I could not be more thrilled with the results and we love coming home to our beautiful “new” old house. In fact, we have recently engaged Custom Concepts for another project to renovate our backyard deck and construct a custom pergola so that the whole property would be complete.I would recommend this company for exterior renovations without any hesitation.

Great experience using Custom Concepts. I had seen a Hardie siding project on another home in my neighborhood and asked them who they used. Our neighbors told us about the wonderful experience they had with Michael Swank and highly recommended this business. While other neighbors have also used Hardie siding with other contractors, I could definitely tell that their project had a higher level of craftsmanship. Our project was just completed and if I could give this company more than 5 stars I would. We recently used Custom Concepts to replace our masonite tudor panels with James Hardie. Custom Concepts exceeded our expectations with quality and customer service. Custom Concepts was the only certified James Hardie contractor that actually reviewed our project with the local James Hardie representative and ensured that the methodology they used for the tudor was in compliance with the standard required for the James Hardie warranty. This methodology was incredibly complex- Custom Concepts needed to actually cut the James Hardie Panels to allow for diagonal flashing in all of our tudor panel crossings- literally double (if not more) manual effort in to meet this spec. No other contractor was willing to put in this effort. Not only did custom concepts put in the effort, they did it at no extra charge to do it the correct way the first time. They were meticulous in the details- everything was literally perfect. Danny and Juan worked with us every step of the way. Danny never hesitated to answer all of our questions and spent so much extra time with us explaining the in's and out's of the siding methodology. Anything we asked for, Danny was willing to work with us. The team was prompt, completed the job on time, and the quality was superb. We would highly recommend Custom Concepts to anyone looking for a quality, customer- friendly company- in particular for a complex job such as ours.

We were so lucky to find Custom Concepts Construction (CCC) to replace the siding on our home. For us the best way to find reliable service providers is from the recommendations of our friends. However, we found that none of our friends had been through this. We were so lucky that the James Hardie website listed CCC as someone to consider (AND that the other contractor listed did not reply to our inquiry!). This is a very conscientious crew. They can do anything you want with James Hardie siding and what most impressed us was their attention to detail. Our siding went up without the nicks and chips we have seen at other homes. CCC made our home much more water proof than when we built it 20 years ago. They clean up everyday to keep the site clean and neat--and all of our neighbors are commenting on how nice it looks. We have just had our siding and windows replaced by Custom Concepts Construction and are incredibly pleased with the work they did. The windows look great, the trim makes the subdued color pop a little bit more, and the work was done on time and within our budget.From the scoping at the beginning of the project to the final walk through, all members of the team were professional, polite, and helpful. Our questions were answered quickly and potential problems were dealt with with a minimum of hassle.When work was scheduled for the end of January, we were skeptical that the work could be done given the typical weather, and we were pleasantly surprised that at no point over the project was our home ever uncomfortable. We recently completed a total exterior renovation using Custom Concepts. Starting with the roof replacement, gutters and downspouts, skylights, Hardie Plank siding and all the trim. And the proposal was like a book which included actual photos of our house. Once the work began it went like clockwork. Danny Harper, partner and job manager was on top of everything! Custom Concepts Construction – an excellent company to do business with. We needed to replace the vinyl siding on our house with HardiePlank and had noticed the work that the Custom Concepts Construction team was doing on another house in town. The moment we contacted them we knew we had the right company. They immediately set up an appointment to meet with us and review our requirements, which included resolving siding issues on the back of the house made by a previous contractor. We received a detailed, line-item proposal – the sign of a company that knows what it’s doing. Communication is key in any renovation. As soon as we accepted the proposal the Custom Concepts team kept us apprised of the start date, various delivery dates, and of any issues they encountered during their work. I had an excellent experience with Custom Concepts. We hired them after getting three different quotes to replace our vinyl siding with Hardie plank and provide new shutters. We hired Custom Concepts to replace our siding and remodel one area of our dining room (to close off an old door and install a new window in its place). From the beginning we've been so impressed with CCC's professionalism and attention to detail. First we met with Michael, who was really patient in answering all of our questions and really thinking through our project to ensure no surprises.
