This is the first time I’ve worked with Kevin and Lorrie from Schoolhouse Construction, and I am so grateful they did the work on my deck. They rebuilt our deck using TimberTech PVC and added lighting to the rails. From the very beginning Kevin and Lorrie were incredibly responsive. They started and ended the project when they said they would. They provide updates at every stage, including photos. The quality of the work was outstanding, and the deck looks AMAZING! They treated my home as if it were their own. I recently had a terrible experience with another contractor, which caused me so much stress and anxiety, so my experience with Kevin and Lorrie was all that more meaningful. It’s so important to work with someone you can trust.We also had several small jobs inside the house, which Kevin also took care of. This was wonderful, because we would have had a very hard time getting contractors to come to the house for something small like fixing a countertop or patching/painting a damaged wall.I will absolutely work with Schoolhouse Construction again and I highly recommend you do the same!

Just recently completed a 3-month remodel of a 1960s kitchen and bath with Kevin & Lorrie and it was a very positive experience. This was the first time I have undertaken a renovation project of this magnitude and would hire them again for future renovations. Their complementary skills in construction and design are a perfect pairing. They have worked with their team of professional subcontractors for many years and it is a truly collaborative, smooth relationship with all. With the quality of work there were no issues with the various town inspections required for the job. From beginning to end, Kevin & Lorrie communicated daily about expectations and timing of which subs would be arriving and also stopped by at least once a day to oversee the project. I especially appreciated the ability to be directly involved in all design and material decisions and having my ideas be taken seriously and valued. Their personal touch is wonderful and I feel like I have known them for years. While living upstairs during the project I contracted COVID and Lorrie amazed me with homemade soup and casseroles to sustain and comfort me. Talk about a personal touch! I highly recommend Schoolhouse Construction and plan to hire them again for future renovations.

We bought our cape house in 2014. The house is in a beautiful location. However, almost everything needed to be redone on the inside as well as a new roof and windows/shutters. Kevin and Lorraine transformed our house into a home. They pay attention to the planning phase so that the project goes smoothly. They keep you up to date on the progress of your project (especially if you are off cape during construction). They would often send me pictures of the progress being made which put my mind at ease. Whatever I have asked of them, they’ve delivered. They’ve done everything from the roof, windows, central ac, bathrooms, floors, countertops, outdoor shower, upgraded the electrical and made sure our appliances were delivered and installed properly. Lorraine spent a whole day with me picking out countertops/appliances/sink/faucet. Kevin always does beautiful work and is always very responsive when I text or email with a question. If you are off cape and are hesitant to hand the keys to your house to someone…these are people you can trust.I’m sure I’ll be texting them again soon for another project!

Kevin and Lorrie couldn’t have made the process any smoother and we are so thrilled with the end result. From the first time we met and discussed our project, we felt very confident and comfortable with them. They spent a great deal of time discussing our wants and needs. We appreciated how super detail oriented they are and Lorrie, a design expert, shared great ideas, advice and her expertise. Kevin is an outstanding builder and elite carpenter! His attention to detail and the coordination of permits, building supplies and professional sub-contractors was really impressive. They coordinated so well with the company we hired to install hardscape and landscape during the process. Ever present on the job site, excellent communication and always available for questions, updates, etc. We can’t recommend them highly enough to anyone looking for home improvement projects. SchoolHouse Construction Inc.Dear Kevin and Lorrie,I am writing you to tell you how happy the Smiths' of Chatham are with the refurbishing of our home.We retired 26 years ago planning to live full time in our cottage which needed finishing work to turn it into a real home.One day we had a surprise reunion with Lorrie Blute. We felt confident she could recommend a carpenter for us since she was living nearby, Proudly she introduced us to her husband Kevin Of School House Construction!Kevin and his crew finished the basement in my wishes of Knotty Pine -which included a large closet and laundry room . Kevin and his crew had created a family detailed room with space for TV and furniture to hold a turntable to play our music collection and a family desk, all in a room so beautiful and now well used!Eighteen years later we we realized we needed a larger upstairs bathroom. Kevin to the rescue with his able crew! This was a challenge as it was winter. Unbelievable to us -in no time they had the dormer constructed and our beautiful new bathroom(in wood) with shower and linen closet was completed.This is not the end of our confident dealings with School House Construction's professional and quality work..In 2004 happiness is a Mud Room off the kitchen built with a large and smaller closet. This construction was a challenge as it was winter -Unbelievable to us-in no time they had the dormer constructed. Kevin was able to finish the closets with doors I had wanted him to design . He listened patiently and constructed the old time wooden doors with old time hinges and latches.Lorrie has had a hand in all of this refurbishing . Happily she has the patience to listen to all my wishes and designs and put them in proper perspective that pulled it all together.This Spring we had our Cape style home outside redone with new shingles and trim repainted with, as always ,by now my good friends of School House Construction crew. Now our Chatham home has lots of beautiful rooms to live in and an out side to be proud to look at.Many thanks to Kevin and Lorrie and their happy crew which makes remodeling a pleasure. Schoolhouse construction has just completed a bathroom renovation project for us.Our new bathroom is stunning and the experience of working with Lorrie and Kevin was wonderful from start to finish.Lorrie helped us develop a realistic budget and then helped us stick to it by shopping with us at FW Webb in Hyannis and RPM in Harwich and directing us to products that were in our price range. She is an expert interior designer and can picture what goes with what, and what paint colors would capture the mood we wanted.Once the project started they were here every day until it was done (our neighbors noticed and commented on that). Our project was small, but Kevin and his team gave it the professionalism, craftmanship, and attention to detail of a much larger job. Kevin and Lorrie are a team with complementary talents, and they work with a plumber, an electrician, and painters that they have known for years. The communication between them was seamless.They also communicated regularly with us! No question was too small to receive an immediate response. They told us who was coming every day and what time they would arrive.And.. the project was completed AHEAD of schedule. We felt sad when we waved goodbye to them!! Kevin did excellent work replacing our second floor sliding door and trimming out our living room with bead board. It wasn't easy to get the new door to the second floor and he did it with careful attention to the rest of the house. Replacing the slider also required replacing some flooring and matching the new trim and flooring to the existing materials. You can't tell that anything was done on the inside or outside, the match is perfect. The finish carpentry on the bead board is first class, everything matches and the seams are invisible. I would have Kevin and Laurie back to do any work in my house.Service: Remodeling
