Remodeling isn’t for the faint of heart, and some projects are more fraught than others. We have gutted and redone several homes and learned a lot of lessons along the way. We needed to redesign and update a tiny kitchen, adding storage and capacity while simultaneously opening up the space and making it seem bigger. We also wanted a very specific kind of look but wanted a designer to add more ideas and creativity and bring it up a few notches. My wife and I had been dealing with the design team at Mitchell Construction Group on an extensive home modification project. I happened to mention we had an immediate need for some relatively minor exterior repairs and was told they had a "small jobs" group. One of the members of that group called the next day and we made an appointment to have MCG personnel come to the house to assess the project. As the repairs needed were hidden within the structure, we decided to proceed with a time and materials contract. Bottom line is that our project was completed on time and at about 60% of the "ballpark" cost! I can't say enough good things about the two carpenters who completed the job. I have seldom, if ever, worked with a better company, regardless of the industry. From our first encounter with Mitchell to the completion of the kitchen renovation, we had no complaints. What was promised was delivered, on time and with excellent workmanship.The design team was a pleasure to work with, ensuring that our needs and desires were considered, and they held our hands whenever we needed the support.The construction team worked around our schedules and was always extremely responsive and professional. Mitchell Construction helped our family address a lingering water issue at our home. We attempted to repair it several times but the water damage just kept recurring. They came to our home and did an assessment (which none of the others did) and determined several locations where water was coming into the home (in and around the chimney). They and their team put a plan in place and completely resolved the issue which required roof flashing, addressing the gap between the chimney and the home, replacing siding and painting and repairing the interior walls and the siding on the home. In total five different trades were involved and each one of them were top notch. There is no doubt that the folks at mitchell are polite and professional. That said, unless you have deep pockets they are not for you. We had many, many things we wanted done, but we understood they could not be done within our budget. We hoped to work with them to sort out what we could accomplish within our budget. We paid 10,000 in good faith that we would receive a plan we could work with. We did receive a thorough, well thought out plan, but it was more than twice our budget!!! They presented another plan, but the price per square foot, the value of what we were getting was exorbitant. The salespersons response was “you may just have to get comfortable spending more money.” As i said earlier, they are not a company that thinks at all about value. If you have endless funds, i imagine they are delightful to work with.

Marc a grown adult was harassing my daughter and driving your truck recklessly on the highway. He endangered her life for no apparent reason. If you allow people like him who clearly have some kind of mental issue then how can anyone trust them to be in their homes, let alone build or repair anything in their home.
