We had our old deck dismantled and rebuilt with SM Construction and we are very pleased with the result. They were quick to respond to us when we first reached out and they gave us a reasonable quote. Plus they were all so friendly and easy to talk to. We love the way the deck looks and the quality of the craftsmanship. We are excited to use it this summer.

James and Steven were great. They gave us a very fair estimate on our wheelchair accessible ramp compared to other contractors. They produced a contract right away and offered to pull the permits themselves. They did an excellent job when it came to the build - the frame is strong, trex walkway, and vinyl railings and post covers looked great. These guys are perfectionists. Their clean-up was immaculate as well. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a great reno/new build contractor!

I've been looking to demo my bathroom and have it updated with new vanities,  lights, tiles and remove the tub and install and stand up shower unit. I was referred by a friend that had SM Construction Design do work for them, so I contacted them. James and Steve did an amazing job so much more than I could ever imagine and the quality of work they provided is amazing. I am very happy I was referred to SM Construction Design they went above and beyond to build me the bathroom of my dreams. I highly recommend them!

Steve and James offer a wide range of services and expertise. Have used their snow removal service and general contracting service to fix pavement and walkways on our property. Communication has always been excellent with very competitive pricing. Keep up the good work fellas

I needed an access panel installed for an AC unit, and it can be hard to find anyone willing to work in the North End. James stopped by the next day to take a look and came back a few days later with Steve to do the job. We found out a previous contractor had drywalled over an existing metal panel, but they were able to change course, carve around the panel and repair the drywall to clean up the whole area. I appreciated that they took good measurements and came back with the pieces they needed to avoid making a mess in the apartment.

Hired Steve and James July 2022 to turn our deck into a 3 season room. It's now April 2023 and room is still not done. They would show up around noon and work a few hours then leave. As time went by they would show up a couple of days week. When we asked when they would be done they said October. Then November. Then December. AND during this time the roof they installed leaks. When they said they would come by and fix they never showed. When I asked as to why I was told one of them was sick. However, according to Facebook they were actually working some where else. Finally had a roofer come by to look at roof and found out they did not install correctly. After that I started to look at invoices. We were billed twice work they already did. They also seem to "run out of material". That ended up being another "extras" bill. They are crooks. DO NOT HIRE THEM!!!!!

We were looking to have our kitchen floor redone and called SM Construction & Design for an estimate. Jim & Steve gave us a fair price and were able to start the project the following week. They picked up our flooring materials and began demolition. There were multiple layers of flooring including ceramic tile, plywood and linoleum as well as hundreds of nails. The demolition took a couple of days and they disposed of all the debris. The new floor was installed and came out amazing! Thank you SM Construction!

Steve and James were more than helpful and thorough explaining what the issue was with a leaky pipe inside my house's walls. You're never in the dark when they're explaining what they will do and how they will get it done. Reliable, top notch service, and funny contractors that ease the anxiety of a problem. will definitely rehire them if anything unexpected happens.

Steve and James did not do good quality work for us. The shower leaked all over our basement and ruined furniture and clothes in storage. They would not respond to calls so had to pay someone else to fix all of their mistakes. The grout work in the shower and bathroom is terrible and needs to be re-done, it has been cracking and uneven since the day they left. They blamed it on us walking on it while it was drying, which was NOT the case. The plumber who fixed their install of shower head that was leaking could not believe what a terrible job they did. They removed a shower door to install new tiles and they reinstalled it and now it leaks! They could not figure out how to fix the new leak we did not have before they did work on the shower. They are inexperienced and do not follow up and make things right. Terrible job done and I do NOT recommend at all for anything.

Before these guys came and helped me, I had a nightmare issue with my bathroom floors for at least 3 years! Had the same guy that put them in redo it like 4 times and the same issue kept happening and each time they came it took weeks.These guys however came in an reinstalled the whole thing in less than a week and it looks amazing! All the issues are gone and now its a nice solid floor that looks nice! Thanks for helping me!

The completion of work took longer than expected. However, I gave Steve and James an extensive wish list; and they completed everything. That list includes plumbing, electrician work, fencing and they built a front porch and a back deck. They go the extra mile with quality materials and labor. Great job!!!

I had been thinking about remodeling my shower for years and was not able to get enough quotes to make a decision.Finally in desperation I turned to SM Construction.They were superlative.Their attention to detail and their workmanship was outstanding.I couldn't ask for more.Now I know I have a friend in SM Construction when I need to turn to other parts of the house for remodeling.Bravo!!!
