Very good experience with a small roof replacement and chimney repair. Excellent communication throughout the process from the in-person inspection a quote to project completion. I would definitely recommend them for any roofing project any size. It started as water dripping through a recessed light fixture during a late summer downpour. I immediately looked up roofers in my area and found one that specialized in rubber roofs since 3/4 of my house has a flat roof.Steven from Stella Construction was here and up on the roof inspecting within a half hour of my call. When he came down he showed me photos and video he had taken of the area he suspected was the immediate cause of the leak but also several areas that looked concerning.He sent me an estimate later that day for making the immediate repair as well as the cost to replace the roof entirely with a newer and higher quality material than the existing 20 year old rubber. For peace of mind we chose to go with the full replacement but within a couple days a crew was up making repairs to keep things dry until they could fit us in the schedule.A couple weeks later the crew was back and during a week of very hot humid weather removed the old roof and made major repairs to several areas where undetected water seepage had caused rot, decay and attracted carpenter ants.The additional work needed to make the repairs was outside the scope of our contract and Steven helped us coordinate a claim with our insurance company. He and his crew are very professional and worked hard to repair and replace all the hidden damage that would very likely caused the roof to collapse with even a mild snow load.We are very grateful for the professionalism and expertise Stella provided and now have the peace of mind knowing our home is safe and secure..Services: Skylight repair, Roof installation, Roof damage repair

I had a great experience with Stella! They replaced an old skylight in my house, and the whole transaction happened efficiently and with full transparency. Steve came out for a consultation, gave me time to make my decision, and then had the new skylight installed the same week I signed his contract. He answered all my questions both at the consultation and after I got his contract, really making sure I felt confident in his service. He and his worker were done within a few hours of arriving at my house, including checking with me that everything happened as I anticipated. He didn't mark up the price of the skylight unit, which made his quote a little lower than the others I got - I also found other companies harder to get ahold of, and would provide little to no info about their services before coming out for a consultation. Stella was a great choice based not only on their service, but their willingness to be as transparent as possible.

It is a tough market and many vendors are unresponsive, so it was encouraging to find a contractor who not only returned my initial phone call but also actually showed up to inspect the job and to offer a quote. Stella Roofing was one of three companies who did of almost 2 dozen inquiries. Not only were they responsive, they were also professional through all stages of the job and very patient.I am a retired hotel executive who can be detail oriented and rather picky. Steve was extremely patient handling a series of questions I had. He pulled no punches and confidently stated he wouldn't be the cheapest bid but also wouldn't be the most expensive. I did feel they would be competent.It took a few weeks to fit me into the schedule and to order materials but the workmen arrived very early one day and had completely and silently removed the old rubber roof while I slept in a bedroom next to the area being re-roofed. The new roof was installed quickly and efficiently. Pictures showed a clean and seamless install. The real proof will be in the next Nor'easter but I feel confident it will weather it fine. Stella installed a new roof and skylights for us in November 2018. I had shopped around with various providers and I really appreciated the way Steve walked me through the process. They completed the whole job on a Saturday and even were able to work around receiving a skylight that was incorrectly sized by the manufacturer.Since then, I also hired Stella to replace the decking on my balcony (which took about a week), and also a couple small jobs like painting the outside of our three-story home, replacing some rotting baseboard, and installing new gutters. The baseboard job came up while we were doing a landscaping project, Milton from Stella came quickly on short notice to keep that project on schedule. Milton goes above and beyond -- I saw him stay late to fix something that I think the landscapers were supposed to do.The Stella team is friendly and always does a great job of cleaning up the job site. Steve has also been very clear on pricing and was also helpful in getting me the right receipts when our solar-powered skylight installation retroactively qualified for a tax credit after the laws were updated in 2020. I was an absolute pleasure working with Stella Construction and my roofing project was a great experience from day 1. Steve was very thorough with his project evaluation, reviewing all the details (such as materials, timing, what to expect, etc.) and answering all my questions. A great thing about working with Steve is he does what he says he will do. He showed up on time for the initial appointment, the estimate came when he said it would, the permit was obtained quickly, and the materials were delivered ahead of the scheduled start of the job. Steve is also great with communications. He responds quickly via email or text and all the contracting and invoicing was done electronically making it extremely easy to do business with Stella Construction. On the day of the job I was sent pictures of what was found after taking off the shingles so I was aware of the roof repairs that would be needed prior to laying the new shingles and those repairs were in line with my expectations based on Steve s assessment when he submitted his estimate. The job started and ended on time and was completed on budget. Based on this experience I will use Stella Construction for future home projects!!
