Mr. Mortimer is exetremely UNPROFESSIONAL, rude and condescending. We hired him to help us handle my mom’s estate and he has had very little tolerance for simple questions, as we are just trying to understand the process. He has verbally insulted me and my sister on more than one occasion while speaking with him in person and over the phone. He talks over you and doesn’t even let you finish your question (let alone, let you hear what he is saying, because umm... I’m still talking. Hello?!). He makes us very uncomfortable and feel like we’re stupid because handling legal matters of an Estate isn’t just common sense to us. Sorry we didn’t go to law school. I sell real estate and have a degree in finance. I’m not a dummy.Just recently, he even had the audacity to kick my sister out of his office!!!!!! Because she asked “why” to something he said (again, just trying to understand!) - he told her “I’m done... handle this yourself” Are you frickin kidding me??!!!!! As our legal ADVISOR, his job is to advise and answer any questions we may have, regardless of how many or how stupid he thinks they may be! He said she insulted his “integrity” by questioning him. Again, are you effing kidding me???? Keep in mind, at this point, our mom just died. To top it off, he also had her drive an hour to meet him at Secretary of State to handle a lost car title, and he couldn’t even get the issue resolved. They told him the same exact thing they told her prior to that. If he’s been practicing for so long, that should be an easy peesy issue for him to handle. He doesn’t even know what he’s doing.PLEASE do NOT waste your time or money with this joker.**UPDATE** In response to your response below, Mr. Mortimer. First of all, MY MOTHER HAD COMPLETE CONFIDENCE IN US - HOW DARE YOU. WHAT KIND OF PROFESSIONAL SAYS THAT to a client, AND DISRESPECTS A FAMILY LIKE THAT AFTER THEIR BELOVED MOM PASSES AWAY??The reason WE (as in, we all - my mom, my sister and I) ALL AGREED to appoint you, was because of my unstable brother always trying to cause trouble (which you experienced). We thought it would be best to have a neutral third party as the Trustee. And we Learned our lesson... we obviously made the wrong choice.Secondly, You say here, that you didn't throw her out of your office, but asked her to leave. Is that not the same thing??? That's just laughable and makes you sound stupid.I was NOT completely incorrect in my review. My sister never REFUSED to give you anything but wanted to understand what you were doing, what the exact process was, and so she asked, and YOU REFUSED TO ANSWER HER QUESTIONS. You took it personal and got visibly upset - accusing her of questioning your integrity (instead of simply just answering her questions). Why WOULDN'T someone question your integrity??? People put a lot of "TRUST" in you with things they have worked their entire lives for, without even knowing you for more than a few minutes. You should be used to that - it kinda comes with the territory. And YOUR JOB is to try to assure people that they CAN trust you... by your actions. You are to act in your clients absolute best interest, not your own. And if you don't agree 100% with these points, then you are seriously compromising your FIDUCIARY RESPONSIBILITY as a legal representative and should not be practicing law.I believe my sister as she explained it because it is not her personality to be rude and refuse someone something, and because I saw it for myself as well, in person and on the phone with you.He may be good at some things people, but I would strongly advise against hiring him for estate planning as he has ZERO compassion or tact.
