What a great Company!!! We started building our house in April as a DIY project. Up until I met Steve at Green Horizons each step has seemed to involve more hassle than I ever expected. We initially received two bids for a standing seam metal roof for our home in Boyne City. One company local to Boyne City was nearly double what Green Horizons later quoted, the other was out of Petoskey/Harbor Springs and about $7,000 less than Green Horizons. However, the owner of the cheaper company had poor communication and grumbled about the drive from Petoskey to Boyne City, saying it would be hard to schedule us and he would have to add a “travel charge.”These factors were red flags and prompted me to look elsewhere for a roof. I then came into contact with Steve, the owner of Green Horizons. His responsiveness, enthusiasm, and knowledge was immediately apparent. He provided a quote right away and even though it was higher, I was sold and didn’t bother looking anywhere else simply due to Steve’s can-do attitude and my great initial impression. I had a feeling Green Horizons was the way to go.Steve’s communication didn’t stop there, he was always responsive if we ever had a question and consistently checked in with us to fit our schedule. He stayed in touch once the crew started working on our roof, even providing progress photos along the way all the way through to job completion.The crew was excellent. Scott and the rest of the team were prompt and professional for the 4 days they were on site. We love the appearance of our new roof and I’m no roofing expert, but it looks to be of top-notch quality and installation.Thank you Green Horizons Team!!!

Wow! Green Horizon’s Roofing is the absolute BEST! They put on a a Tilcor steel/granite shake roof that is AWESOME! The product is amazing with a rich color, texture and definition that adds so much character to our home on Otsego Lake in Gaylord. Steven, the owner, is just a truly great guy who cares more about his customer and their experience than his own pocket! The crew was hard-working, polite, conscientious, and professional. Each night they left the place clean and made sure we were satisfied and happy. No one ever likes to have to spend money on a roof…. But this roof made me happy to do it!! It is hard to describe just how well this job was handled. From the bid to the completion, communication was the best I have ever experienced from a contractor, and I have worked with dozens of them. We were not home when the roof was replaced but I got photo updates every single day. Neighbors called me to tell me how great the roof looked, but to also let me know how respectful the workers were and how neat the jobsite was. When we finally got to see the finished project we were blown away by the quality of the materials and the craftmanship. We own a 1918 Sears Craftsman home, which, over the years, has had its roofing system repaired by various owners. We had it re-roofed about 10 years because of occasional winter ice-dam issues, which unfortunately did not cure the problem. We contacted Green Horizons based on the recommendation of a friend who had used Green Horizons to re-roof his house. We were very pleased with their re-roofing and repair proposals, the execution of the same and the results. They were very professional and extremely competent in addressing our issues and related problems. We had them tear-off and re-roof our house, two garages and potting shed. As unforeseen issues arose from prior repairs, they presented us with various options and their recommendations for resolving each issue. We were always "in the loop" and part of the decision making process. The crew leader, Scot, and his workers, were always professional in addressing and resolving problems, meticulous in attention to details and always cautious in protecting our property. I called after I discovered a small leak on the ridge of our standing seam metal roof. Steve responded right away and was able to get a crew to the house the next day by 10 AM. Before the crew arrived that morning Steve also confirmed their visit. Scott arrived on time and set up to work safely on our metal roof (in the middle of winter). Scott was quick to diagnose the problem and showed me pictures of the issue. He was able to make the repair and also verified the repair with after pictures. Contacted Green Horizons Roofing regarding a roof leak that was noticed after a heavy rain/wind storm. I informed Steve, the owner we were closing our house for the winter and were leaving the next day. He told me he would look into the problem sometime in the coming week. He assured me he would take care of the problem.The following week they evaluated the roof and found a couple of problems. They contacted me about their findings including photos of the problems and let me know what needed to be done. When we were hit with a freak tornado in northern lower Michigan in late May, there was a lot of damage throughout our small town. Without going into all of the frustrating details and long story of the months that followed, I just want to say that Steve and the crew from Green Horizons Roofing restored my sanity. When I called and explained the situation, and I heard Steve say, "We'll take care of you," I actually cried. And they did exactly what he promised -- they took care of us. They replaced all three roofs on our property with shingles. They came as promised, did the work in the timeline promised, and stayed in contact from initial call to completion of the project.
