Reached out to build it Detroit after my neighbor had his roof done by them. They were quick in getting back to me and provided me with a quote the same day. They completed my roof and it’s held up amazing. No leaks or issues. Will highly recommend.

I used them on two of my commercial properties in Detroit. My main issues as an out of state investor is not knowing if and when things will get done. But with build it Detroit they were transparent and quick to get both of my properties compliance with the city. Would recommend them 100%.

Build it Detroit has been one of the best property management companies that I have come across in years! The apartment, as well as the building and common areas (lobby, hallways, laundry room, etc.) were all cleaned daily by the maintenance team. The apartment came to me brand new! With fresh paint and new flooring as well as new stainless steel appliances. Management is on top of any and every service request and have managed to create a comfortable and home like feel throughout the building. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for an apartment in the Detroit metro area to give them a call, I believe they have other properties around the city as well.

Very unresponsive. After months of negotiating and being patient with them constantly going back on previous agreements, we finally reached an understanding (so I thought). As soon as I signed the lease, they became unresponsive and eventually backed out. I spent weeks working with city of Detroit to get this place zoned. There was time, money and sacrificed family time. Above all, I'm most upset that my time was wasted. I literally was in southwest detroit speaking to non-english speaking residents in orderto obtain signatures to file a petition to have the location rezoned. Guess I'll take this as a lesson learned about bad business and always having a backup plan.Updating after owner response: While I appreciate you taking the time to respond, the fact still remains that your or your agent could have communicated this earlier in the process (ex. immediately after application and credit check). I'm sorry if you felt like I did a "little" but it was not just a "little work and time". The facts that you stated are true. However, I went through a rigorous loan approval process and was approved for a business loan. The collections that you spoke over were in the process of being removed (a condition of my business loan). You are also correct, no one is obligated to rent to me. However, a solid no and direct honesty could have remedied this ordeal and could have saved months of my time as well as your agents(s) time. Your agent mentioned that you would not give a solid answer as to why you chose to back out after so much time. Your response here is the first that I've heard an actual reason (if it is the truth). Effective communication really does go a long way.

Started doing deals with John and his team a few years ago, we started with a few smaller fix and flips and ended up working our way up to larger apartment buildings for a buy and hold strategy. John was hands on every step of the process from acquisition to disposition and everything in between. I hired build it Detorit to manage one of properties on the East side of Detorit. I am a out of state investor so having them by my side truly helps. They are professional and reliable two things that are hard to find in Detorit. I will recommended them 100%. Not only do they manage but they also do repairs and deal with turning over units by renting them out. You won’t regret going with them.
