I had a disappointing experience with Doug. He was quick to respond initially and presented an air of competence and had a good understanding of the work that needed done. I agreed to a fairly high bid based on the possibility that some significant work may need to be done, understanding that if the project came in under budget, the amount charged would be less than what was initially quoted. I didn't have the time to bid out this project to multiple contractors and ultimately that was my mistake. It took Doug a while to find subcontractors to do the work which was unfortunate given they significant amount of rain we had during that time period. Ultimately, Doug's subcontractors were able to do adequate work, which was significantly less in time and materials than was originally quoted. I had quite a bit of difficulty getting any adjustment of the initial high estimate to actually match the work done.  After back and forth with minimal progress, Doug came to my house to collect the payment and inspect the work. He seems satisfied with the work and his windfall on this project. Ultimately I still had to go on the roof and caulk an area he had said that he would take care of if he had caulk in his truck. In the grand scheme of things it was probably an expensive lesson for me to learn about how to find a good contractor.

I had an old rotting deck totallly removed and new one built and installed by Gesink. Jim Block helped guide me in all the necessary decisions for the new deck. He even suggested how to improve the footprint of the old deck into something I am totally delighted with! Jim was constantly checking on the project and making sure that everything was to my satisfaction. Mario and his crew were very detail oriented and professional. Gesink is a great company to work with. I will be using them again for other projects at my home as well as my commercial building.

Jim B. and his crews worked with me to tear down and rebuild a garage to my specifications. These projects are never easy but Jim helped navigate the tough parts and advised me when my requests were not possible or "best practice". The crews coming in to tackle the different aspects of the job all performed their work to the same high level of craftsmanship. Jim remained in contact through the process and kept me informed as to the details of the scheduled work. The worksite was acceptably clean and orderly during construction. A few very minor issues required attention after completion and these issues were addressed quickly. Weather and scheduling issues slowed progress at times but I never felt neglected or that we were unnecessarily delayed during the build. I am pleased with the appearance and the functionality of the garage and I feel I have invested in a quality structure. I recommend the Gesink crew without hesitation.Service: Remodeling
