There is so many wonderful things I would love to say about Grand Rapids Construction and their team. First and foremost is the caring this team has for their customers and workers. The owners a husband and wife team are without a doubt the most caring. To ensure there were no hiccups with the installation of our enclosed carport with neighbors the owner Deserie stayed with the team almost 12 hours. The team started at 8 am and were completely finished by 8 pm. They cleaned up the yard , road etc. they did not leave trash anywhere contrary to previous post. We live on a one lane dead end road with seasonal residents. If any emergency vehicles needed to get through it would have taken less time than one would imagine as we would have all materials out of the road by the time the vehicle made it up the hill. The owners do care about everyone's input. Sadly the previous poster is a disgruntled neighbor that has nothing to do with Grand Rapids Construction. Please feel free to ask me any questions as truly we never would have had this carport without the due diligence of GRC. They have worked through red tape, stood up for us with zoning laws etc. they went to bat for us and we are extremely grateful to them. We are an elderly couple that truly needed an enclosed carport in order to keep us from falling on ice etc. Matt, Deserie and Brittany worked with us from day one! It took months to get our permits etc and they worked for us every step of the way. We truly feel part of their family and know it didn't stop with the completion of our carport. We have made life long friends with GRC and their family. I would also like to thank their 16 year old son who came out early the next day to make sure there were no nails or screws we could slip on. Ps there were none as the team cleaned up so well.

This is a great company. They did the remodel in my bathroom and I love it. When I called for a quote, they communicated quickly and broke down exactly what would happen and how long the remodel would take. The finish product was great. I definitely will be recommending them to friends and family.

I called looking for a qualified contractor after discovering the person I was considering hiring was not licensed. Matt took time out of his day to share information with me that put me on a better course of action than the one I was on. I’m finding it’s the company I haven’t hired, or one I hired for a different service, that have given me advice that the “professionals” I hired should have that have saved me from making costly mistakes. They are the true professionals. Helping a stranger on the phone counts for a lot in my book.

2 stars … one for showing up and one for finally finishing.Before using Grand Rapids Construction (located in Howard City, MI) make sure you state a start/end date in contract or you may find your quoted five week project is actually six months (ten months if they use your home as the storage unit prior to start). Ask to speak/view references for comparable project as your job (ask for repeat client references as well). Stick to stated payment schedule in contract (they asked for early payments because project was taking longer than planned). Be your own project manager (as one may not be provided) and the company uses many/different subs that are “cross-trained” and workmanship may not be consistent. Grand Rapids Construction portrays themselves as a large company but in reality a small company stretching their sub’s way too thin on “thirty other jobs besides yours”. Ultimately we ended up with the master bath we wanted (but we did have to hire additional tradespeople to finish details that GR Construction felt they were “not responsible for”). Very nice/professional in the beginning…not so much at the end. We are getting ready to refinish our basement and “NO” we will not be seeking the services of Grand Rapids Construction again. Hopefully they learned some things on our remodel that will assist their company (and customers) in the future. Good Luck. Matt was amazing. We needed baseboards installed and had some cabinets in our dining area that we wanted to make into built-ins that he did for us. He had great communication skills & answered every single question we had. He was very accommodating and professional and worked very swiftly to get the job done. The guys at Grand Rapids Construction are great! We had them put a beautiful new deck, and 2 porches on our home.....and we love it!! Done in about a week. Clean hard working crew. Would definitely recommend them!

Matt and the crew that came out were professional and knowledgeable. Whenever I had a question they worked hard and fast to get me an answer and/or resolve the issue. They did a total bathroom remodel. Matt checked in often and made sure that I was happy with the progress. Came in on budget. No surprises on the final bill. I called Grand Rapids Construction to get help with a few things that needed to get done around the house. They ended up Laying down new hardwood floor in my daughters bedroom, putting up trim throughout the entire house and building a new bathroom in our unfinished basement. I love how it all turned out and already told them I will definitely hire them to finish the basement. I would highly recommend this team!

I had several large projects that I wanted done, should have been done long ago. The employees were stellar! The work was done efficiently, clean and the way I wanted. The workers were polite and asked questions before assuming. While I have not had Grand Rapids Construction actually do work for me I had a great experience calling them. Matt, the owner, took the time to propose solutions to my problem. If they treat people who are not their customers in such a positive fashion, they must treat their customers even better!

Called for a quote. Excellent job over phone. Discussed having come out to measure and such for a small job. They offered to do it virtually however I rather have someone come out. Person came out next day. Did the measurements and stated would have a quote by Monday. This was measured and such the 25th of August. Its now 9/8/22 and I have yet to receive a quote. Company reached out few days later to discuss the quote and why it was delayed in getting to me. They did attempt to deliver and thought I had the quote when the email was entered wrong.Edited*

I called this company and got a quote, I felt it was a great fit. They informed me in the beginning that it would be a few months before they could start. That was perfect for me. It aloud me to put a down payment and then have the rest. I didn't have to finance so that was great. They end result was pure perfection.Service: Remodeling

I called to ask some questions about a structural engineer when my lender told me I would need to have a structural engineer review the foundation of the home I was buying. Grand Rapids Construction provided me a quote and advised me on BOCA homes being considered stick built after 1998. I took this information back to my lender and got them to review their lending structure for my loan. Long story short, Grand Rapids Constructions knowledgeable advice saved me a TON of money and time. Thank you sooo much for taking the time to help me through my questions.

They took my money and then didn't complete the job. Plus the work they did had to be re-done because it wasn't done correctly which means i paid twice for the same thing. Thieves is what they are so watch them carefully.
