This is the second custom home we have built and was by far a much better experience, with Porter Builders. They exceeded our expectations! Ed was ALWAYS accessible, hands on, and extremely responsive to our needs or concerns.Building a house long distance can be stressful. Ed's high integrity and flexibility goes through the organization with Sam, Mark and the whole crew, which made the process fun and exciting. We felt that Ed had our back through the whole process. Corners are never cut and the quality of workmanship and materials are second to none. Cost were also very transparent. They stand by their work as we have heard stories from other home owners that many years later they will come back to fix/repair any issues.If we build again Porter Builders is my first call and would highly recommend them.

Porter builders built an addition to our cottage on Torch Lake. They melded the new construction to exactly match and enhance our existing home, which was a complex project. See attached photo of the great room, balcony and kitchen.Ed Porter is a very experienced engineer/contractor. He collaborated fully to produce our very beautiful addition matching exactly the construction details in our existing home. He masterfully integrated our questions and suggestions with those of the architect to produce a beautiful home utilizing invaluable insight gained during his many years of building experience.His construction foreman and entire crew were outstanding in attention to every detail as were all of his subcontrators.We are very happy to have this opportunity to very highly recommend Ed Porter and his company.

We cannot say enough about our experience with Ed Porter and his team. From the planning stage until we moved in, Ed Porter has been a MAN OF HIS WORD. So often people complain about their experience with builders and say they would never do it again.. not the case with Porter. This was not only a positive experience, we are so thrilled with our home we have actually talked to Porter Builders about building for us again downstate. We highly recommend Porter Builders.

So impressed with homes built by Porter Builders they were the first builders we called when we retired from the Navy. Ed personally assessed the lot we were interested in to ensure suitability for the home we wanted to build. From that day on they exceeded our highest expectations.
