Hawks Hollow Builders demolished and rebuilt two decks, walkways and a porch on our house, which is 35 feet off the ground in some spots. We were most impressed by three things: 1) the meticulous tracking of every penny and every bit of material through their software, Co-Construct; 2) the honest and friendly team members --- Sera, Scott, John, Rich and Barney; and 3) the incredible craftmanship. The Battle Creek Tabernacle Church structure is almost 100 years old. The sanctuary had not been updated since the late 1970's. We needed to make some major improvements while at the same time maintaining as much as possible, the historic atmosphere of the church. As was typical of most churches from that era, the interior of the building had a lot of molded wood trim. We didn't want to lose that beauty. As we looked for contractors to do the renovations, it was important to understand how they would fulfill our desires. Early in our conversations with Hawks Hollow Builders, they expressed the philosophy that a church is more like a home when considering the importance of the "finishing" details. That is how we felt. HHB did not disappoint us. When you enter the sanctuary, it is not readily apparent what is original construction and what is new. Eric, their project manager, was very focused on this, and his attention to detail was outstanding. Eric was great to work with, as well as, the rest of the crew. He communicated and made sure we were satisfied at every stage of the project. We wanted to worship in the sanctuary as long as possible during the renovation process. Eric made sure at the end of each week that the sanctuary was cleaned up and as much as possible the construction equipment was moved out of the way. We had an excellent experience working with Hawks Hollow! I was especially pleased with the design aspect. Sera presented a plan that was unique and made our kitchen more functional and tasteful. John and Rob were wonderful to work with. They arrived on time each day, and they did not leave until the day's work was completed. They both consistently took time to answer our questions. Hawk's Hollow did a major renovation of our home consisting of a completely new kitchen (including an addition to enlarge it and adding numerous windows), a completely renovated deck, new patio, new roof, new siding, and new flooring on almost the entire first floor. Sera Gesmundo and her team at Hawk’s Hollow were great; excellent attention to detail, on time and their work was top quality. An added bonus was that we discovered Sera has an artistic bent and is very good with design details. She made an excellent suggestion for a design change to the partial roof over our new patio. Also, when we got a bit lost on where to locate the kitchen appliances and designing our kitchen cabinets she had us come to her office and in a couple hours helped us work out all details of the kitchen cabinet and appliance placement on the big screen TV in her conference room. Seeing it all in pictures was very helpful. If you use Hawk’s Hollow you don’t need to work with a specialty kitchen shop. The final design was great and we’re enjoying our new kitchen immensely. Sera and her team also helped us with an innovation for our deck that we’re extremely pleased with. Instead of using wood or composite decking we used the same slate landscape tiles we used for our new patio that abuts the deck. It’s very good looking and no more replacing rotting wood decking.

More than anything else, we loved working with the people of Hawks Hollow. Sera and Amy were simply outstanding . . . very creative and understanding during the design process; always watching out for us during the construction phase (HH did a whole-house renovation for us). They also worked hard to keep our costs down by negotiating with subcontractors for us. Bill and the Hawks Hollow crew were also outstanding -- always available to answer our questions and responded quickly to any issues (Eric was especially great to work with; he always was able to figure things out and get things done). The subcontractors were also great; very professional and high-quality work. Whenever we came to the office, Jodi was there to greet us and made sure we were comfortable.Everyone who had seen our home before the renovation are just amazed at the transformation (and the quality of the work). We managed this renovation from our main home in Chicago and never were worried about being three hours away from things (or not being able to check in on a daily basis). Sera and Amy always kept us informed and up to date on progress (and always kept us on track with things we needed to do). We had never done anything like this before (probably common for many HH clients) . . . and although it was stressful (somewhat), it was a very enjoyable process (with a great outcome!) . . . thanks to Hawks Hollow.
