We recently hired John McCarter Construction to replace two entry doors in our home. We knew that the McCarter team does excellent work because they replaced our siding and a few windows in 2021 and we were very pleased with the outcome. We were not disappointed with the installation of our doors. Jeff and Josh did a great job, repairing damage from our old doors, installing the new doors, setting up the new lock hardware, and giving special attention to all the necessary details. We highly recommend McCarter Construction for exterior home improvement projects.

I requested a quote from John McCarter on their website. They gave me a call, asked about my project, and sent Heather out to my house for a quote. Before offering an estimated dollar amount for the project, she asked what my budget was. I said I was hoping to get a straightforward quote before setting a budget. She was so busy warning me about how “high end” their siding is, I was hard pressed to get an actual quote out of her. She was extremely condescending - saying I should look for something cheaper with their competitors. I’m not going to speculate on what it was about me that made her assume the products/services John McCarter offered were out of my price range. As if to discourage me, she mentioned that the value of my house would not increase dollar for dollar based on what I’d spend to remodel with their company. I already knew that. I asked Heather for a follow-up quote on some masonry work for the project. She agreed to look into that for me. Here we are about 10 business days later and, after reaching out to both Heather and the company, I remain ignored.TL;DR: I didn’t get a chance to work with John McCarter Construction because I’m apparently not the type of person they take seriously. Call a different company - one who treats all people with respect.

We hired John McCarter Construction for some cedar siding repairs recently, including full replacement of a large exterior wall using HardiePlank lap "cedar" siding and trim boards. (No more woodpeckers!)Their team was very responsive in all phases of the project, from my initial inquiry via website form, then estimating, scheduling, etc., through project completion and satisfaction checks.The McCarter work crews (siding and paint) were on time, very efficient, and happy to answer my various questions during siding installation and painting.Best of all, the end results look great! Exactly what I was envisioning for this project.Overall, this is a very pro team from start to finish, and the results reflect that. The work was top notch and I welcome anyone to come by our house to take a look. That was one of the selling points when we decided to work with McCarter. This is my second time using John McCarter Construction. The first time was in 2014 and was a really great experience. So this time when I needed two new doorwalls, I included them in my evaluation process and eventually selected them, due in no small part to my previous experience.The installers and painter were very polite, personable, easy to work with, and professional in their manner and workmanship. The production manager was an excellent communicator and terrific on follow-up and making sure it all happened.This was a big expense and an important part of the home, and I had a positive experience from beginning to end!

Excellent experience with a siding/trim repair done by McCarter. Good work at a reasonable price, but their communication was what made them stand out. From the minute I contacted them they were responding and updating me.Got a rough estimate of when a crew would be available to do the work, a call to confirm a few days before crew arrived, a call from crew when they arrived at my house, texts with photos of the completed work when it was done, follow up call from the office a few days later.Small job, but they put in the effort to make it a good experience. I will use them again.

The McCarter construction team was extremely professional from start to finish.The team that install my Hardy board was led by a gentleman named Jesse and he was extremely awesome and knowledgeable. From initial consultation, to construction, to communication, and everything in between, all aspects of our home improvement project was easy. Kevin and Steven on the construction side were helpful, timely, patient, and insightful, and Marianne was very accommodating when it came to payment options/plans.I would recommend McCarter to anyone with a home improvement project and would definitely use them again!

A very professional company. Competitively priced. The siding, trim, window and gutter work was very well done. Any issues were dealt with quickly and without any debate. The team cleaned up after themselves each day and were careful with landscaping. Tom the project manager proactively came back to us to check on progress and visited our home and the project regularly. I called John McCarter construction for help on repairing some siding in multiple places on my house. They paid great attention to the job even though it was not a big job. The young man who came to do the work was an amazing worker. Very respectful, helpful, paid allot of attention to detail. I could not have asked for anything more. Sometimes these smaller jobs are not as important as the larger ones from some companies, but not here. I am grateful to McCarter construction. I absolutely recommend.

We had some rotten wood trim replaced on the outside of our house and everything painted. The chimney cap and area around the garage needed some extra work and it looks better than we expected. I originally went through Angi to find a roofing company to replace a few shingles but the company that called had a minimum of $1500 per job, however, they recommended me to John McCarter Construction (JMC). Bob collected my info and was extremely attentive to my questions, no matter how naive they were. Their job start time (within 1 week) and prices were extremely competitive which ultimately lead me to choose JMC! After they completed the work, the technician's explained why the shingles fell in the first place and the payment process was super easy. Marianne called a few days later to check-in to see if everything went smoothly. JMC is a company that cares about their customers and will be a company that will be on my list to call back for any future (hopefully distant) roof repairs/replacements.Service: Roof repair

John McCarter Construction (JMC) was fantastic from start to finish. Our project included all new James Hardie siding, trim, soffits, fascia, gutters, and garage doors, as well as a new back entry door, a new picture window, some painting, etc). JMC strove to find solutions to fit our needs. They were patient with us even as we wavered on what we wanted to do and when. They took time to explain in detail exactly what would be done and how things would look. They helped us by providing a professional color consultant as well as a basic computer-generated view of our project. They very much wanted us to be happy with the entire project, including at the end of the project, when they made sure to take care of all the little odds and ends. Their teams paid great attention to detail, which included suggesting (on their own) to fix the layout/design of our house's original botched trim job and to fix the problematic gutter layout we had from the home's original construction. JMC uses only reliable, high-quality products with top-notch warranties. They freshened up the exterior of our home, which now looks fabulous and is essentially maintenance free! We couldn't be happier with the results and our experience working with JMC! Our experience with this company was very positive. From the start of the project, they were the most organized and professional of the 5 other companies we were considering. Once the project started, there were no hiccups or surprises. They communicated well and started when they were suppose to start. They were quick and efficient once they were working. We had our roof, siding, and painting done to our house and each thing took about 3-5 days. Once one was done, another started quickly there after. I would definitely recommend this company.

I’m very pleased working with McCarter Construction on my storm damaged roof and whole roof replacement. It started with a branch damaging my roof to which was added my insurance company paying to replace the roof since matching shingles were no longer available. The process delivered by McCarter was very professional including the following: a detail proposal of expected materials and costs, full attic inspection to verify proper ventilation, keeping me posted every step occurring (shingle delivery, dumpster delivery/pickup, roofers arriving, damage repair occurring and gutter replacement). McCarter provided pictures taken during the process, a lien waiver to release my funds by the mortgage company, excellent job with tarps and boards protecting scrubs and the house during the process, along with cleanup afterwards including wiping down porch posts that were marked by old shingles dropping off the roof. After the job, Tom McCarter provided me with pictures and a list of used material to supply to the insurance company related to the damaged roof area. Final ending cost was just under the proposal estimate. I’m very glad I had McCarter perform this work – the repair and roof look great. I had used them in the past on much smaller jobs and would recommend them as a great company to work with.
