Their communication is poor at best. I got a quote and was ready to use them then they didn’t reply at all to start work. It’s very hard to get any response back from this company. I will not be calling this company again for any work. They won’t call back anyway. I used them before and they did good work but had similar issues. They are awful at correspondence. Good luck tracking them down.

My chimney/chase/siding and cap were in need of repairs due to wind damage and just poor construction initially. Michigan’s Handyman dispatched Steve to check out the situation which was anxiety ridden for me. I knew it was not going to be an inexpensive repair and I felt there were going to be many unknowns. Steve engendered much confidence and after talking to him for a little while I knew I had the right outfit to repair my damaged chase/siding/cap. Steve and Joe had the main portion of the work done in one day (a new cap/flashing had to be sent out for fabrication). These guys didn’t even take a lunch break. They followed up in a couple of days to complete the work. I’m very happy with the results and there are many details that I am leaving out here. Suffice it to say these guys are on my short list for future projects.

Needed some siding and exterior door repairs/replacement due to the wind storm in January. I called around and the 5th or 6th place I called was Michigan's Handyman. They were professional, polite, and reasonable right at intake. Owen was my contractor for the project. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. I would highly recommend Owen for any job and I have saved Michigan's Handyman's number and Owen's number for future projects.

The company foreman, Dennis S., installed a kitchen backsplash for us. I made a major mistake in trusting they knew what they were doing and would be honest. Another major mistake I made was not doing a proper inspection before writing a check. The tile was chewed up, broken, and uneven all the way around (see photos). There was no space between the mosaic tile sheets; they were stacked directly on top of each other. When I asked why they didn’t use spacers I was given a ridiculous reply. There were other issues more minor, to include 3 outlets that were fried because he did not turn off the electricity before using a wet sponge to clean the grout off. We requested the job be redone. I asked the owner Robert G. to come to our home twice, both times he refuse and threatened to take us to court if we did not accept taking a couple hundred off the bill. Robert also stated “it’s not like they are not going to let us get paid.” The job was horrible and needed to be redone, the owner never saw the work in person, when he saw the pictures (same ones posted) he said that was a quality job. When we went to court both the magistrate and judge commented on how bad the job was but awarded them payment because I did not do an inspection before writing a check. If you see a contractor doing something that does not look right to you stop them, do not let them finish or you will be stuck with paying for terrible work. Also, ask for the names of the people doing the work and search their names to make sure they have a good reputation. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! The owners go to response to unhappy customers is “I’m sorry you feel you and a bad experience…” he does not care. If he did he would have come to our home and actually looked at the work, not threaten to take us to court. Instead of taking responsibility for terrible work and insulting customer service they blamed us for not taking their “expert” advise.Note: We asked to have the tile even with the bottom of the cabinet all the way around. Their "expert" advice, was to go to the ceiling on the walls with out upper cabinets so we couldn't see the cuts. At no point did they tell us that they could not cut glass tile.

My mother's porch has had a single step since the house was built. The sidewalk and step had subsided, and the step down from the porch to the single step was getting too high. I'm out of state, and after my mother slipped on the porch, decided not to wait for my next visit to do something about it. Found Michigan's Handyman on Google, gave them a call. Jim said he'd go out to her house the next day and give me a quote. He did, the quote was reasonable, and the single step was replaced with 2 evenly spaced steps that same week. Mom is happy, I'm happy. I don't think I could have done this job any cheaper on my own, and it certainly wouldn't have turned out as good.

Left a voicemail on their line Saturday march 30th for a return call on a job. No callback no answer and no text. It’s been 3 business days later and still no contact from them. I guess they don’t want the work? Could have called back and asked what the work entailed at least.

The work Curtis did was great, once I was actually able to get him to come out and do the work. I had been trying to schedule a date with him for almost a month. He would say he could probably come out in a couple days, days would go by, heard nothing from him so I would reach out. This happened a few times and I decided to call the main line and left a voicemail that I understand that they are busy due to COVID, but I've been as patient and reasonable as I can be, and I just want to put a date on the calendar and commit to it. That day he texted me and said he would be there that afternoon, when he arrived he did the work but he was very quiet and looks visibly annoyed (very different from my first interaction with him). He came back the next morning to finish up and was very polite as he originally was, and again, the work looks great.However I was also quoted originally to have an ethernet run installed from one end of the house to the other that Curtis quoted during the original quote (with me supplying the CAT6 cabling). The day he finally came out, he asked me to grab the wall plates and whatever else would be needed because he honestly wasn't sure what he would be looking for. I told him to scrap this part of the project because the whole reason I hired them was because I don't know exactly what is needed. After he finished the downspout work, he said that his co-worker who was more experienced with cabling would contact me today or tomorrow. I've heard nothing.This place has fantastic reviews, their site is great, but I just can't recommend them or nor will I consider using them again. This was a very poor first experience due to very poor communication. I understand if they're busy, but if they say they are going to call me by X day, and they don't multiple times, that's just inexcusable.

Steve from Michigan's Handyman did a great job on my roof today. The area around the stink pipe was leaking and caused some water damage in one of my kitchen cabinets. He went to Home Depot and purchased the parts he needed to fix the leak and then he sealed it with a roofing compound. The result was a fixed leak and a stink pipe flashing the looks very nice. I needed my wood deck brought back to life. Michigan Handyman (Robert) was extremely prompt at getting back to me and sending someone out for an estimate. Curtis estimated the job to replace the steps, replace some boards, power wash it, and stain it. He was extremely fair, and did not nickel and dime me. He always showed when he said he would, rain or shine. He did an excellent job, he takes pride in his work and it shows. He was able to take care of all the issues we needed repaired to pass inspection prior to selling the house, and at a reasonable price. We contacted Michigan's Handyman to have our gutters cleaned and repaired on our 2 story home. When I spoke to them, the were pleasant and provided a very reasonable quote over the phone. We both work, so when they came out within their quoted timeframe, and completed the work, we did not have to be present. This was very convenient for us. They completed the work, and left us an invoice in our mailbox. We could not be happier with their level of professionalism and the quality of their work. They even took care to close our gates when leaving; this is important to us since we have dogs. Super happy, and will continue to utilize their services going forward.

Jason and Owen did an awesome job installing our second story through-the -wall air conditioner. They were very professional, courteous, friendly, and all around good guys. Totally pleased with their service. I needed my chimney repaired, it was damaged during a recent storm, and needed to be done before winter sets in. I called another company and got an estimate, but after 4 calls to set something up and no return call, I contacted Michigan's Handyman. I got a call back within a couple hours, 2 days later got an estimate and the job was complete 5 days later. No debris left behind, all cleaned up better than before. I've recommended them to call my friends, and they will be the first company I'll call for my future needs.
