Nice short, steep hike within this park; roughly 1/2 mile loop. Quiet. We were the only ones on the trail when we went. Parts of the trail are paved. Nice view from the top; would've looked better with more fall colors. Would be a fairly easy trail for families with children. Only took us about 20 minutes to complete, even with stopping to take some photos along the trail. Free parking and picnic tables within the park.

Great stop for a state wayside area. Nice day use/picnic area with pit toilets. Fun hike up a paved trail to inspiration peak which is one of highest points in Ottertail County. The hike is uphill and slightly difficult and ends at a great view point. You can expect to spend about 1-2 hours here.

Pretty small but well inclined hike. The peak gives one a good view of surrounding area. There's good number of people there on a fall day. Seen many picnic tables around with a pit toilet.

Nice little place to stop if you have the time. Paved trails lead the way up to the top of this ~400 ft hill exposing a small prairie, with a decent 270 degree view over west-central Minnesota. Check it out in late spring/early summer for some beautiful wildflowers.Hike is no more than a mile up and down, and there is a bathroom and a picnic area at the entrance.

@1500 steps round trip. 15 min up & 15 min back. Only 2-3 blocks total, but fairly steep. Recorded as 15 flights of stairs. I'd recommend switching to walking shoes. Say that's a lot of 15s.

Found this place by accident traveling the back roads. Great place to stop and get a good stretch of the legs. Offers a great view of the surrounding countryside. When you get to the top it talks about being 400 feet above the surrounding area. So, I don’t think that’s from the parking lot. There is a supper club at the bottom where you turn in. Didn’t stop there though.

View was worth the climb though you need to be stable on your feet and take breaks if you need too!

It's really only a 10 minute hike or a 5 minute bike ride (if you're really good at biking). I would come here expecting to only spend 15 minutes here. It really is super beautiful and is worth seeing it, but really nothing else to see or do here unless you come here in the mid fall or winter. The reason being is the rest of the park is extraordinarily overgrown (the part that is dirt path) and you can barely bike (black diamond+) and uncomfortably hike it unless you have long durable pants and long durable sleeves. Even then, I'd just wait till mid fall sadly. Still glad I came by even in the summer, just slightly disappointed.

Short but steep paved loop trail in the trees. Benches on the way up if you need a breather. The vista at the top is worth the hike. A paved road leads to the paved parking lot. There are picnic tables should you want to picnic. Nice place!

Inspiration Peak is a nice trail to the top with 2 benches on the way up to rest if you need and one spot with a rail due to steepness. We are a family of 5 with kids ages 3-9 and we got to the top in 15-20 minutes with everyone walking on their own 😀. There is another trail on the way down that takes you to a picnic area. At the bottom of this trail is a water pump from a well that brings us nice cold water after a few pumps...be sure to try it!

I absolutely love it out here! The climb to the top is so worth it! You can see for what seems like eternity. and then when you come down there is a well to pump with unbelievably cold water from to revamp your system! One of my favorite short hiking places to go in the area!

Quick hike (<10 min) to get to the top to see a beautiful sprawling landscape of many close by towns. Highly recommend you visit in the fall to take in the fall foliage over the endless miles you can see!

It is a cool spot and worth the hike if you live close by. It was a spot where Lewis and Clark visited and that makes it pretty cool. If you want to get a workout here hike it like three times or so to feel the burn.
