I submitted a request for an ice dam removal and was contacted within the hour to set up a time and date. I was very happy with the prompt service and their focus on communication. It is not easy to find reliable companies for residential service in Duluth/Hermantown but Alliance breaks the mold. I can only comment on my experience with their ice dam removal but I would expect the same great service for masonry and their other services as well. Alliance is an ideal place to turn for residential work.

They damaged my new roof.I had my roof shoveled and ice dams removed in March of 2023 by Alliance. More than 40 shingles on my brand new roof were ripped, gouged or removed during the process of them doing their work. I called and they’re super friendly and came out in the spring to repair. But only repaired about half of them and left the other half unrepaired. I’ve called or texted 4 times since this spring and have not been able to receive any other help.

Great job by the Alliance crew! They were able to remove the stone face around the old fireplace and reinstall it around the new fireplace. I recently had work done on an old fish house that had substantial storm damage to the foundation. Andrew and Milo arrived at about 10:30 a.m. as advertised, and both of them worked hard straight through until about 7:30 in the evening, finishing up the following day. This was an involved and technical project. Andrew's expertise, pride in his work and interest in the history of the fish house itself, made for an especially good experience. Milo was likewise hard-working and engaged. Both men were easy to work with, keeping me thoroughly in the loop whenever I ventured down to see the project unfolding. An excellent job which has produced sustained results.

Totally satisfied with the people at Alliance, prompt reply and follow through. I needed my and my daughters driveways plowed due to the heavy wet compacted snow. I called Alliance and they came out right away and looked at the jobs and gave me a quick and reasonable quote. They were able to start the plowing the same afternoon and did an excellent job. It wasn't easy clearing the rutted compacted snow filled driveways but they kept at it and got the job done. Excellent and skilled people to work with. I would recommend them 100% to tackle any job you have for them.

We are very pleased with the new fireplace insert Alliance Masonry installed for us. The crew was very professional and polite. The installation was completed in a few short hours and we were able to use the fireplace immediately. It heats our cabin very efficiently. There was a little problem with the blower that was not Alliance's fault. They took care of all the warranty work and kept us informed throughout the whole process. I highly recommend using Alliance Masonry for any fireplace work you may need. We are very happy customers.

Great service! Their service tech was on time, very courteous and he obviously knew what he was doing. Our chimney was very dirty and they left our house spotless.I would not hesitate to use them again and would recommend Alliance to anyone looking to have their chimney cleaned or repaired.

I called Alliance to take care of my ice dam. Bou was out in an hour to take a look and gave me an estimate. Troy and Glenn were there in an hour and did a wonderful job. They were both very pleasant and professional. I hope I don’t have this problem again, but if I do, I will call them again.Troy and Glenn were both out again mid-march to take care of the ice dam on the other side of the house and they did a great job again. My problem is with the salesman that took Bou’s place. He was very rude and I was told that someone would call me with a time the next day. When I got a hold of him the next day (no phone call),he pushed me off another day. Also, I was charged 33% more than I paid a month earlier. When I questioned it, he said they were so busy they didn’t have to give discounts. To me , that’s price gouging at its best.

When I called Alliance, we needed urgent help to get rid of an ice dam which had built up along our roof. We had developed a drip in one area. I left my name and number and was was quickly called back and arrangements were made to come to our home to survey the situation. I was also made aware that they were licensed, bonded and insured. The worker was able to come to our home and take care of everything for us in a timely manner. I certainly would recommend them for ice dam removal. Diane Johnson

If you're looking for a restoration mason that knows how to work on older buildings (working on a newer brick building is not the same as working on an older brick building as much has changed over time and stuff that is great to use in newer brick buildings can sometimes damage older brick buildings over time), Alliance Masonry Inc. is definitely the outfit you want to use. On top of just the challenge of finding a mason who was willing to use softer mortar, my project was especially challenging because a large and old metal facade needed to be removed, the area behind it repaired, and then the facade needed to be put back on in hopefully one piece. Other masons said that it couldn't be done and the facade would not survive being removed and certainly would not be able to be put back on.Enter Andrew and Troy who were the masons who were assigned to my project. These guys did awesome work. They carefully removed that facade and then entirely restored what had been damaged by time. On top of that, the corners had to be completely rebuilt. After they had finished doing all of this, they carefully restored the facade and you wouldn't even be able to tell that anyone had moved it at all, except that it is actually firmly attached to the building again now whereas it had been kind of dangling a bit before they came along.At every turn, I was impressed with their attention to detail and their willingness to answer my questions. When we were trying to figure out a color match for the mortar in a hard spot to match, they took the time to provide 5 different samples so that we could see which color looked closest to what was there on that section of wall. If the wrong masons had been given this project, there wouldn't have been a second chance to get it right as that facade would not have been replaceable if it had been damaged during removal. The difference as far as the before and after for the front of my building in unbelievable and the quality of work was amazing.I am so glad that Troy and Andrew were the masons who worked on my building and I highly recommend Alliance Masonry Inc!

Glen and Nate knocked out a bad winters worth of snow and ice on my roof! It was tougher than they initially thought but they even came back the next day which was a Saturday while working till dark the day before. I thought it was really mindful of them to check and ask first if if I wanted them to continue passed the estimated time and because well, they're working on your roof. I gave them the option to go on if they wanted to as I understood it was a Saturday and they decided to just knock it out and finish it. They showed me pictures to show it was clear even the gutters. Will always use these guys and recommend them.

They tuck-pointed/rebuilt my chimney and poured a new concrete sidewalk. They did an awesome job on both.The sidewalk in particular is naturally curving, has a little flair at the end, and has the slightest slope for drainage. The mason was a true craftsman. I've actually received several unprompted compliments on this sidewalk.Alliance is my go-to mason. I'll contact them again when our next project comes up.

Excellent job removing 2 feet of snow from my driveway! I couldn't keep up with all the snow we got last week over several days. When the arctic air came through it was all rock solid. No snowblower was going to get through that! The young man cleared my driveway, sidewalk and porch all in less than 2 hours and it looks fantastic! Thank you!
