Disclaimer: I am physically disabled and live in public housing, so I wasn't the one paying the contractor.I had a very poor experience with this contractor's ability to show up on the agreed upon time, or communicate when issues had come up.The apartment window below me needed the top of the sill re-caulked because rain was leaking into their apartment. I waited from 8:30am to 3:30pm for the contractor to arrive last week, and he never showed up or called to let the building manager know he wouldn't be arriving that day. We rescheduled for yesterday at a particular time, and the contractor again failed to show up.Today the contractor did arrive (without calling ahead as promised) and when he entered my apartment with the building manager, didn't address me at all, completed the work (to whatever degree of accuracy and quality that I couldn't begin to judge) and then, when given ample opportunity to apologize for wasting my time, instead proceeded to speak with the building manager about bidding on other work in the building. On his way out the door, when I realized he wasn't going to say anything to me at all, I thanked him for "finally showing up" and he ignored me. (Not that there's much you can say to that, I simply wanted to remind him of his negligence.)I found this unprofessional, immature, and arrogant. He valued his time over mine, and failed to own up to his failures despite being a grown man. My building manager also failed to hold him accountable, and her presence may have complicated the social interaction, so that's an element of the equation as well. He was likely informed that I was unhappy with the situation, and may have been apprehensive because of that information. Still, I felt disrespected, and found his interest in securing more contracts over addressing his mistakes to be insulting. Having family who own businesses in the area, I would not suggest this company because of my experience.I recognize that things come up in contracting. Had he called to inform me that he wouldn't make it on the days he never showed up, I would've understood. Had he apologized today, while frustrated, I would've been understanding. While courtesy is not necessarily the measurement of a contractor, timeliness and communication are important to ensure a job is done correctly and within constraints.

Kaski Inc is by far the most qualified and professional Commercial General Contractor in northern Minnesota. Had no problems, the whole process was cost effective, timely, and organized. Couldn’t be happier, and I will definitely be using them in the future. Thank you Kaski!
