Les Grumdahl replaced a very big picture window in our living room that had been installed in 1952. We were told by several contractors this would be a very lengthy and expensive process. Ryan came out and assessed the window and quoted us a very fair price. The custom staining on the window came out perfectly and the installation was done in less than 7 hours and right on budget. The craftsmanship was extraordinary as well. Our living room was cleaned and vacuumed and no mess was left outside. I appreciated Ryan verifying the details of a custom window each step of the way. There is no question who I am calling for our next house project. These guys are a 10/10.

We hired Les Grumdahl Window & Siding to replace various pieces of damaged steel siding and trim around our house, and also install siding in areas around a new entry we had done. We worked with Ryan Grumdahl. His crew was fantastic. They were very friendly and meticulous. We are really happy with the work that was done. It turned out great.

5/21/21 we paid our first deposit to Grumdahl Window and Siding and had them do 13 windows for us. In the contract it states they were supposed to do trim as well. We were set to have them installed November 2021 and that did not happen until this year. We were patient- you know probably COVID. We paid them the second payment after install as stated in the contract and they came back another day to finish up and we came home to this. And one of our windows is faulty. Now, not only can we not get them to call or text us back but when my husband actually gets someone on the phone today they can’t give us a date of when they can come do the trim. “Sometime this spring.” They said they would wait until they do windows in Two Harbors instead of making their guys drive out here for just trim. Even though the office is closer now. Even though we are a year long unfinished job. I wish I knew a year ago what I know now. I will edit this review if things change.Service: Window installation

Was driving to work today and one of the employees driving a truck was driving recklessly. Not only did he swerve into my lane and almost sideswipe me, prompting me to honk, he then sped up angrily way over the speed limit to pass me? It was super foggy and icy out. Not a great representation of your company.

I am unsure if Google removed my review or what but I am posting again because I think it is important for people in the community to see the work that Les Grumdahl and Ryan Grumdahl do and their lack of professionalism.May of 2021 we paid our first deposit to Grumdahl Window and Siding and had them do 13 windows for us. It wasn't until I went to the law library and got paperwork for small claims court and let him know he was breaching our contact that he responded to me and our windows got done the next week. If you do go with them, keep all of your paperwork and document everything. I suggest using text only as well instead of phone calls.Service: Window installation

We had almost all of our windows and doors replaced in our house. Les and his employees from the office to the installers and in between were all a pleasure to work with. I’ve had a lot of bad luck with contractors, the work, timelines and cleanliness in the past. Les Grumdahl and his team were wonderful! We would highly recommend and would definitely hire them for future projects!

We hired Les Grumdahl Window & Siding to install new gutters down spouts and replace the Double pane windows for my mothers home. The experience was a breeze Les described in detail what was to be replaced and why and delivered above our expectation. The gutters and down spouts were straight and very clean. The energy efficient replacement windows installed are perfect and I know are saving money. I contacted Ryan for assistance with 3 broken windows and his response time was amazing, within just a few days he was at my home, measurements done, left me multiple brochures on which windows he thought best fit my need, gave me his recommendation and left me to decide what I wanted. Once I contacted him with my decision my windows were ordered and arrived sooner than his estimated time frame. We set an install date and he quickly called back with a cancellation of another install so he was able to get mine put in right away. I would recommend them over and over. Grumdahl company came to repair some weather stripping on our patio door that they installed several years ago. They had to special order the parts needed for the repair but sent a couple of professional men for the repair. After completion, they explained the process and left the worksite clean. Works great again!

I used Les Grumdahl Window & Siding to replace 13 windows and my siding on my house. The wait list was long, but they were upfront about that from the start and it was with all the supply chain issues. I ended up having the work done in the winter which was fine. The crew who did the windows were fast and they made sure to clean up after themselves. It was done pretty quickly once it started. The siding was a one man job. He did a fantastic job! My house had been looking old and worn down, but with the new siding and windows, it looks brand new! Les Grumdahl himself took my calls and answered my questions. He made sure to update me about delays and any other updates. I'm super happy with the end product and thought that the money was reasonable and well spent. I had this company install a screen door and an entry door on my house, it was some of the worse work I have ever had a company do. They billed me without even going through a punch list when the project was finished. The screen door would not shut properly and the gasket on the bottom of the door was ruined. The entry door would also not shut properly, the latch would not catch and the dead bolt would not lock. The hinge was missing screws and three different types of screws were used.After multiple meetings with an estimator I finally asked to have the owner come out to fix these problems. At one point during the conversation I thought the guy was going to punch me and asked him if intimidation was part of his business model. I could not believe an owner of a business would treat his customers this way.My door still does not shut properly and wish I never would have hired this company to do any work for me, this was one of the worse experiences I have ever had with a company and can not recommend to anyone to hire this company.Service: Home repairs

I have hired Les Grumdahl for window installation on three occasions over several years. I have a large historic home. This team has been fantastic. Always working hard to get it just right whether it was color, size, timing, they have worked with me. Jamie, one of the team, is a delightful guy, happy to go the extra mile, great attention to customer service and hard working. The windows have greatly reduced street noise and heat bill costs. It's always a tough call to replace original windows on a historic home, but once I did it, I have no regrets. I used Les each time. He is a rare find in Duluth. Good business. Ps. My neighbor recommended him to me.

Les replaced all of my windows and knocked a whole in the wall to create a new entrance for our new deck.Les and his guys were super fast once the project started. One of the guys spent a long time on reframing/flashing our little attic window. I'm pretty sure that was thrown in for free.It all looks really well done. NO MORE PLASTIC FILM ON WINDOWS!!!!Every time I have had a problem with the windows they were responsive.Les did warn me that they are like 5 months out on all projects. I see a lot of negative reviews surrounding this but honestly, what did you think it would be?
