We are very satisfied with our experience in working with the folks at IPS to have solar panels installed on our home. From the very beginning, our interactions with their team were friendly, accurate and efficient. The costs in the initial bid never changed and there were no hidden fees or other charges as we progressed. The work started on the projected start date and finished on time. The electrical and design teams were flexible in adapting the location and configuration of components to fit the unique spaces available to them in our older home. The installers were neat, cleaned up their work areas, and worked around our schedules. Finally, the system seems to be working as advertised at the designed performance level.

Independent Power was really responsive, gave me a detailed and reasonable proposal, and could get me on their schedule. They were great! Their crews were utterly professional, a pleasure to have around the house, didn't interrupt me working at home, and I now have a fully operational solar system working on my roof! Watching the meter run backwards is such a joy, as is knowing that my house, heated by electric infrared units, is secure for years to come. They were totally professional, reasonably priced, and I couldn't be happier.

Great service and quality system installed. Getting the quotes was a breeze as well, Dan was really helpful in configuring my system and the several others that I asked him for to compare price and performance. Looking forward to the solar production of my new system. Independent Power is very professional, their installers are great, and they were even nice enough to kindly keep an eye on our son so my wife could move the car, granted everyone was in the driveway and not watching him in the house unattended ;-). It was more the willingness and they even went the extra mile to play a little with my son to keep his attention. All equipment installed in a timely manner, and it all works perfect. At times we didn't even know they were still up there until we went outside to check. Their awareness for safety is great as well, if a bolt or small fastener were to fall from the roof they made sure to call out below to inform others so they can have plenty of time to move. Nobody was there during those times, but worth mentioning, cause they are trustworthy. Great crew, highly recommend Independent Power.

The design, contract, payment and highly rated and warranted solar panels were discussed, planned and installed as purposed and stated. The work was done carefully and all concerns were addressed. The system is working nicely and is barely noticeable on my roof. We are pleased with the outcome.

Do to the rise in energy costs I decided to take control of my own power needs. After doing a bit of research and getting quotes from multiple companies I decided to go with Independent Power. They were extremely knowledgeable about the solar industry as well as professional. They were able to design a system that covers most my needs for a fair price based on reviewing average costs around the area.They also pointed me in the right direction for getting a small loan for the project with a low interest rate. From there they handled everything else from scheduling, material ordering, dealing with the power company, and pulling permits.They always did a good job with giving me updates about the project and scheduling. Install was fast and painless they were in and out within a day and left my property as clean as it was before. Overall they are a fantastic company and highly recommend them if your looking into solar power.

We selected Independent Power over two other local companies. Independent was slightly more expensive than one and noticeably cheaper than the other. We chose Independent because of their proposal, installation time frames and the quality of the Sun Power panels that they install. From start to finish, Dan, Dustin, Anna, and the installers (sorry, I don't remember their names) were great. I would have no problem recommending Independent Power to anyone who is thinking about installing a solar power system.

I highly recommend Solar IPS! We started with them almost 20 years back with a 2.4 KW system that worked pretty much flawlessly. When we decided to upgrade our system to almost double capacity and add more rigous monitoring, there was no question we would use them again.We had great luck working with Dan on scoping the system, guidance on which panels to select, info on matching our goals (e.g., having a plug-in hybrid someday that we want to charge from the sun), tax information, city permitting, scheduling, working with NW Energy to upgrade our net metering set up, etc, etc. All taken care of by Solar IPS.Then the installation team came out and efficiently swapped everything over in a couple of days. We work out of a home office and had not a second of down time caused by the swap out of our solar panels.This is a great team to work with. To wit, here's part of a note I wrote to Tony, the owner of Solar IPS after our installation was complete:"Just want to commend your folks up here -- Dan, Lance, Dustin -- for the great and professional job they did getting our system swapped out. They are a credit to Solar IPS, both in talent and in being fun to work with. They make the company look good! Also, thanks to Lance and Dustin for their care with masks, social distancing, etc. How great is it, by the way, that Lance was back at our house 20 years later? I recently had a 30 panel, 12.75 kW roof-top PV solar system installed on my home. From initially getting a cost estimate to completion of the project, I was impressed by the professionalism and responsiveness of the IPS team. Although not the lowest estimate I got, the Sun Power panels were rated best in class with the highest efficiency rating of any panels on the market. Looking at this as an ~ 20 year investment, I chose quality over cost. Anna, in the IPS office, responded to all my questions and managed all of the paperwork and inspections including interfacing with Northwestern Energy to bring my system on-line. IPS has been operating in the Bozeman area for many years so you can count on them being around in the future. I would not hesitate to recommend a Sun Power PV solar system installed by IPS to anyone to anyone considering solar systems.

We hired Independent Power Systems on the recommendation of a friend who had had them do their solar installation. From beginning to end of the project (11.1 kw), Dan and his crew were extremely professional, on task, easy to work with, and very diligent--even to the extent of working weekends to get the project done on time. We are really pleased we hired IPS and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a solar install. In fact, when the inspector came, he said that, of all the solar installers in Bozeman, IPS is by far the best. We completely agree.

5 years ago Independent Power Systems installed panels on my house. They were very professional, installation was flawless and panels worked great. I just moved to a new house and immediately contact them for an estimate for panels on the new house. They came promptly, gave me a very good feedback and I will go with the new panels in the near future.

We hired Tony and his crew to install our system in 2006. It is working wonderfully 10 years later! They even came back to take off the system and re-install it when we had the terrible hail storm in 2009. The roof needed to be replaced but the panels were unscathed. We are very content with our net metered system and highly recommend Independent Power Systems!

We would like to reach out with Kudos to Lance Christenson and Dustin Rothenberg for the installation of our solar system. They both were friendly, courteous and conducted themselves professionally. They kept a neat work area and cleaned up at days end. Communication is important to us; they always let us know when and when they would not be here. Our install was not the typical/normal with our Motor Home in the equation. Lance took the time to sit down with Don to discuss the end result Don wanted and design the system to meet our needs. Also they were for the first time installing a new system unfamiliar to them. They took time to work through the issues finding the correct applications. They assured us they will be available in the future to help with any questions or needs we may have as we learn the system. Both Lance and Dustin are assets to your IPS Staff. It was a pleasure to have them on premises.

We hired Independant Power to design and install a tracker mounted 8.28 KWh system utilizing 24 SunPower solar panels at our home. We're of the opinion that the best solar panels on the market with the best warranty to back them up are made by SunPower and the only SunPower Elite dealer in the region is Independant Power Systems in Bozeman. This fact along with their use of All Earth trackers made our decision easy. Because of the remote location, distance from the house and winter conditions there were extra challenges encountered, but the whole crew went above and beyond to get it finished. The system is working beyond our expectations and is running at or above the expected power production. Just in the 3 months that the system has been fully operational we've experienced peak production in excess of 9 KWh on many occasions. We love the monitoring software which allows us to use our home or mobile computers to monitor the production of the system in real time from anywhere. We're expecting that this system will offset all our home electrical use as well as charge our plug in hybrid vehicle.
