We fully remodeled our house years ago and could not find anyone skilled and willing to take on our stair rail. Shane took this job on and well exceeded my expectations. He was communicative, thorough (they came to check measurements multiple times) on time, and polite. So thrilled with the results! It is the first thing you see when you enter my home and the most beautiful. He even sourced reclaimed wood for the "baseball bat." We are so blessed to be the owners of a walnut, glass and rock entry door. Everyone who sees the door says it is the most beautiful door they have ever seen! Shane could not have been more wonderful to work with. He is a kind, gentle soul. We also picked up a matching live-edge walnut bench with rock inlay and a live-edge ash bench. Shane felled both trees for the benches himself. Our experience with Shane was the best part of building our home; we wish he could have built the entire place! Shane gave impeccable attention to every detail and was extraordinarily patient with us during the designing process. The world needs more people like Shane!

Shane Hughes is an excellent artist and craftsman. He has created many beautiful wooden pieces for my home. These include walnut interior doors and trim throughout my house and an amazing exterior door that is stunning. I receive compliments on it from anyone coming to my front door! Shane has built cottonwood benches and a swing for me from boards my dad had saved, and a wonderful memorial cross for my son Ben. He built a one of kind table and chairs for me from cherry and walnut. He also built 2 beautiful vanities for bathrooms in my home. One is pictured. His imagination works well with mine. I have purchased hand turned bowls from him for gifts and for myself. Shane also creates crossbows and presented 2 of them to me when my son Ben passed away in his memory, and for my son Nate. They are treasured works of art hanging on my wall.Anything Shane works on is well thought out, and he invests his heart in all he does. Thank you Shane for your beautiful and useful work.

Our home is of a modern/contemporary design. Shane created and fabricated all of our built-in casework and some key pieces of furniture. One of the best contractors I've worked with. Shane built a custom bar with incredible attention to detail and craftsmanship. If you ever want to see what he's capable of building from scratch, stop by the Still Room in Missoula. He built that back bar and all the cabinetry and it's absolutely beautiful. Thanks Shane.
