You will not find a better equipped camera store with a more informative staff for miles-literally 😁 this needs to be your first stop before entering Yellowstone to find the equipment you will need to spot and photograph the wildlife in the park. Top of the line Vortex scopes and binoculars for rent or purchase. For the photographer, amateur or professional, they have an impressive inventory of Nikon, Canon and Tamron equipment, cameras and lenses, for sale or rent. Need that 150-600 lens for wildlife photography, they have them for rent at a reasonable rate or purchase at the manufacturer set prices! The staff are well informed, able to help with you questions, purchases or set up that scope rental with a cellphone adapter. You will also find a selection of unique locally sourced items such as pottery or huckleberry items. There is also a great selection of used gear on consignment for purchase.

It was suggested I rent a certain lens for our Yellowstone Wildlife tour. I decided not to go with the companies they suggested and went with Yellowstone Camera Store. I am so glad I did. I was there at 8am to rent a 150-600mm lens for our first day in Yellowstone. I wish I could remember the name of the man who rented me the lens, but he spent almost an hour with me giving me tips, changing how my camera is set up, showing me how to use the lens. Chris was also there to give his input and to assure me that I wasn't doing anything wrong by keeping only 10 photos of 200 I would take. I was so impressed with how my pictures turned out, that when I returned the rental, I purchased the exact same lens, brand new. I wish he had been there when I purchased the lens so I could thank him again and tell him how much he helped me take photos that I thought I could never take. If you want to rent or purchase, I recommend this store and the people who work there. They are all amazing, and they want to make sure you are going to get your money's worth plus have a great experience. I've added just three of the amazing photos I was able to get using that lens, and the new settings for my camera. I know my photos are not as professional as some I have seen, but still learning, and still amazed that any of my photos turned out this well.

We visited The Yellowstone Camera Store a while ago while visiting Yellowstone National Park, and went here looking for a battery charger for an older Canon DSLR, they did not have the specific charger, but they did have a universal charger, the staff was very helpful and friendly, they opened the hard plastic box the charger came in for us and showed us how to use it, very grateful for that, would definitely come here again if we are ever in the area again.the big box stores doesn't have this level of customer care and attention, 10/10.parking may be difficult to find right outside the camera store during peak hours, but we had no issues finding parking

I was completely shocked when I saw this place, what a great store and in the perfect location. If you’re thinking about viewing animals, you have to stop in here or even if you forget some of your camera gear. This place has you covered. Batteries, straps, camera, lenses, memory cards, tripods, bags or even the high power single scope binoculars. I was looking for a bag strap so I could clip my camera from a book bag, but that may have been the only thing they didn’t have. I fell in love with this store and wish I had one in Kansas City. You won’t get much better than this in a small town. Plenty of street parking right along the main strip. Everyone was so nice. Great shop guys!!

Very grateful to the owners who offered to charge my Nikon Z9 battery due to me bringing the wrong charging cable. They made my day and let me keep shooting hundreds of additional picture over the holiday weekend. I will certainly keep this store in mind next time we are in West Yellowstone. I have posted two charming winter shots right outside the store just to grab your attention.

I was heading into Yellowstone the other day and realized I forgot all my SD cards at home. I always have a hard time finding a place that supplies CF Express cards, but The Yellowstone Camera Store had them stocked and were so quick to help me! While visiting Yellowstone, we bought a set of vortex binoculars. We went back the next day and bought a vortex diamondback scope. The products are the same price as you can get them on Amazon. However, unlike Amazon, we had the best customer service. They answered our questions, showed us how to set up and use our new products, and even gave us directions and helpful info for getting around the park. Highly recommend you stop in while you’re in West Yellowstone.

Wow, what an educational experience. I was not a photographer at all but my wife Melissa loves it. She has spent time with Chris and his classes and for her it was money and time well spent. She signed us both up for an in person class and Chris and Harold have got me hooked. These guys know their stuff and their teaching style is second to none. The warm welcome from Sherry definitely set the tone of what our experience was to be. She asked what we were looking for boom 💥 Harold had it in his hand and was showing us the product. My husband and I arrived in West Yellowstone in the evening, and when I went to check my camera, I realized I had the wrong SD card. I panicked and Googled where I could purchase a new memory card. I was pleasantly surprised to find an entire camera store. It was 7:52 when I pulled up to park. The two people who helped me (not sure of their names) were amazing! They did not seem frustrated that it was 5 mins before closing. They helped me look up what kind of camera I had & what type of SD card I would need. They were very knowledgeable and now I’ll be able to use my camera for our first day in Yellowstone tomorrow! I can’t say enough good things about this store!

We stopped in not really planning on buying a new camera today. I am in the market for a new camera, but was just looking. Mark was so knowledgeable & helpful. Not only did we get a new camera set up & binoculars, but we left with awesome information on where to go in Yellowstone. Oscar & Mark did a great job making sure we were taken care of. They even have charged batteries ready to go. They were not pushy & didn’t push the more expensive items. They even offered to check out my camera that was having issues, but I didn’t have it with me. I highly recommend stopping in if you are in the market for a new camera or binoculars.

Such a great store to buy or rent photo equipment or game viewing scopes. Harold is so knowledgeable and took the time to educate us on the phone adapter for our scope. He is so knowledgeable. I would make it a point to visit this place on your first day to optimize your viewing equipment. The remainder of our time in the park was so much better because of our stop here. Thank You!!

Stopped by Yellowstone Camera (West Yellowstone) today to purchase additional memory cards.What a fabulous experience! Very helpful and knowledgeable photographers in this store. I rented a Nikon p1000 for the day and loved it so much I purchased one the next day and they made sure I had everything I needed to get some great shots in the park that day.

You have to check this place out when visiting Yellowstone! We were so jealous of other visitors the first day at park when they can adore animals up in the hills in Lamer Valley with their binoculars. I know I needed one! This place has great products, professional suggestions, and good price! They also offer rentals if you prefer. We saw a grizzly eating bison the day we got the binoculars.

Rented a spotting scope with adapter from here. Called ahead of time and when I showed up they made sure I knew how to use it before I left. It was an excellent scope and the adapter fit my phone. The result was that the family and I were able to capture far away scenes from Hayden Valley up close. I would recommend this place. They cater to any and all price points and skill levels. If you need anything photography related go here.

Can't say enough great things about this store. They match prices of Amazon and BNH. Personal service and no pressure sales. They recommended a nice loop drive that took us through Earthquake Lake. We bought a lens that we'd been considering and that ended up being the main lens that we used for most of our YNP photography.

I dropped a lens in Yellowstone and had one more day with no long lens. I rented one from here and they were wonderful. The lens worked great and was very reasonably priced. Their prices in general are very competitive.

Went in for an emergency SD card, which they happily provided. The owner has his own beautiful, non-edited photos displayed and the exceedingly helpful and cheerful employee pointed out the owner teaches photography classes (over Zoom, too!). After a long hike and a regrettable sunburn, I returned for a camera strap that wouldn't dig into my neck. A different, but equally nice and jolly person helped me find an amazing replacement strap. Hands down some of the nicest shop personnel in W. Yellowstone, and the prices were very reasonable for quality products. Highly recommend. Excited for the photography classes when I get home.

Absolutely blown away. The rental availability is fantastic & reasonably priced considering the quality of the gear they rent out. Chris is stunningly talented and humble. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. I went in when I realized the lenses I brought were NOT cutting it, I walked out with a rental lens and my brand new camera to put it on. Being in Yellowstone and then talking to Chris lit a fire under me to get back to my long-shelved hobby (at one time, career) of photography.I am now looking in to which of his photo tours I'd like to take in the next few years and we will definitely be coming back to the store every time we're in West Yellowstone.

We were in here late last week and thought that they had some truly stunning photography. There is no denying that they are talented. We went in today in hopes of purchasing a camera and waited. The guy at the front could not even be bothered to greet us. He was to worried about making a big sale to even put attention to us. Talking to a customer that is obviously a regular which I can understand, what I can’t understand is ignoring the other people in your store totally. The kicker is, we wanted to buy some photography and a camera. We finally ended up walking out.Do check out this store as they have a lot of unique and beautiful items in it.Update. We ended up going back in and purchasing a camera. Very pleasant experience. Thank you!
