It took them over a year, A YEAR, to get my house back into a livable space. The work was shoddy, the company broke multiple personal items, and ‘lost’ other items, and at no point were there any final walk throughs nor did they return my house to me in the same shape it was in before the flood damage. Not to mention the mold that grew from their incompetence. I had to pay for and install my own faucet and back splash, there was grout left on my walls, floors and driveway, the door frames were destroyed and never fixed, the carpet was ruined by their employees and equipment, and this company did nothing to rectify the issues I presented. Stay far away. If you have USAA, do not agree to have them do the work for you. Save yourself and your sanity.

EC Construction is finishing up our bathroom currently, and we HIGHLY recommend them. They are very busy, but always have communicated clearly with us timelines and what we can expect from them. They are professional, friendly, thoughtful (we have a baby, and they always kept the noise to a minimum when they were able to) and have done great work. NOTHING was missed. The tile installer put a brushed nickel drain in, and EC replaced it to match the rest of the bathroom's fixtures (oil-rubbed bronze), it really is the little things. They truly care about their work, you can tell!! If you're looking for a great company for your remodel, call them! We worked with Chris as our project manager, and he was awesome!

My experience with Eagle Construction has been worst than I imagined was possible. 2 years ago, Nationwide assigned Eagle Construction to my project. The estimator, Zach, went over everything that they would be repairing and had a quote approved for ~$8000. It was clear to me that the project would be much more costly than that (at this point the bid is up to ~$45,000), and I didn't really want to use EC in the first place (I mean, their reputation is terrible...for a good reason). Unfortunately, I apparently had no choice but to stick with Eagle Construction or to cash out the $8,000 and have a more reputable company perform the repairs, which was obviously not feasible for that price. In the original project I was promised that replacing the deck, reframing the front door, and replacing siding were all part of the project. Due to the ambiguous way that EC writes their quotes (mainly by hours of work and square feet of material), I had no choice but to trust what they told me. Since then, they have determined that much of the work which was promised as part of the project is no longer included and was never included in the contract.EC has made a number of significant and costly errors. They worked with JK architecture and produced plans that did not remotely reflect the work discussed; although I asked to see these plans many times, they never showed them to me until after they were submitted to El Dorado county and approved! At this point, new plans had to be drawn up and submitted, where they sat in limbo at the building department for months because of EC's lack of capability.Over the years which this project has taken, EC has made commitments to timelines which they have then totally disregarded. I felt stuck with them because over the months they made change orders so that the cost of the work more closely reflects what is required (I have had three change orders so far), and in each change order they have provided themselves extra time in order to keep themselves from violating the initially contracted and committed timeline. However, since they still have yet to deliver a quote that would be reasonable for completing the work required for the repair (something I could cash out and have a reputable company complete), I am still stuck with them to this day.All of this aside, I was optimistic that the workmanship would at least be OK. I was wrong. There seem to be no two boards that are cut flush; there are large gaps all over, the nailing looks like something I would have done when I was 5. I have never seen work this sloppy in my entire life.Perhaps dangerously, EC totally disregarded the county plans; the more I learn about the project the more I realize they did wrong. EC seems happy to correct many of these errors, but only after I notice them and call them out (in fact, they are also happy to let themselves into my house without my knowledge or permission to correct these errors, even though I have repeatedly reprimanded them for unannounced and unauthorized visits. Eventually I reported them to the local police to get these visits to stop.)Here is a truncated list of things I think that EC initially did wrong, (and don't count on the inspector catching these, because mine didn't). EC did not put required load bearing blocking beneath the house. EC left gaps between the load bearing rafters and ridge board. EC did not perform 2 of the 3 inspections required by the plans. EC did not apply the required brackets, and did not apply the required nails to the brackets they did use. EC used structural timber that does not meet the building code requirements. EC apparently intended to do the deck repair without obtaining an applicable permit (also, recall that complete replacement was promised).I tried to keep this short, so there is a lot I left out. The takeaway is: find another contractor. No matter what your insurance company says (they said they were my only choice), no matter what they promises you (it's probably all a lie anyways), no matter what...find another contractor.

The contractors in this area are swamped so it takes forever to get anyone to respond to a "small estimate flood repair" By small, I mean less than $40K. We went with EC Construction because Alex Williams was extremely thorough on his estimate and timeline. However, once they were hired and money put down, communication ground to a halt. We hired them in July 2021 and this small project took until the end of April 2022 to complete. I kept getting excuses such as being short staffed and having too many jobs. Not sure where that is my problem. I fired Alex and asked Frank to take over. At first he did a good job, then communication stopped with him as well. They only completed the job because I threatened to complete the project myself and have them refund me the money I had paid already. Every encounter, they wanted more money before they would do anything. I finally refused to pay them any more money (they had already received over $20K and hadn't done much work) until they had staff on site working. They ONLY positive experience I had was with Rebecca in the office. Once I started complaining to her, things got done.Do yourself a favor, look somewhere else. I have never felt less valued as a customer. My husband and I had to fix several of their mistakes because we are tired of dealing with them.

Our rooftop swap cooler began leaking water into our hallway causing water damage to ceiling around the airway vent and top of wall. E C came right out and fixed roof leak and dried up water damage. But after cutting out section of drywall and agreeing to repair ceiling damage they never returned to finish what they began. After reading other reviews this seems to be a habit with them. They would not return our calls and we were stuck with a hallway with holes and a damaged ceiling. Then they left a message to request payment for an UNFINISHED job with no explanation of why they won't return to finish what they started. Very unprofessional They reel you in do what they want then leave you to fix up the mess Hire someone else I wished we had

Worst construction company in America. Terrible customer service and even worse actual on the job work. Did not remotely finish any of the job, tried to collect partial payment halfway through for no reason. Absolute trash can company and owner.

Yes I am biased. I love EC Construction. It has been an amazing opportunity to work with them and I look forward to continuing and growing that relationship.

Thank you all for the reviews. I have now refused to give EC $250 to do an "estimate" for me. Why give a gift to this crummy contractor with this bad of a reputation?

Previous reviews provide more details than I care to spend on this review, because I’ve spent so much time trying to work with them. If you want good quality, look elsewhere. I was very disappointed in their timeliness in completing the project. The quality of the work was poor and while they came out to fix the original job it still fell short of basic expectations. Then they are trying to charge for line items that they never did.

Ask for Ely, he's an amazing worker. He showed professionalism and was always welcoming to questions.

If I could give zero I would. Amazingly poor results and far too much to list in this review. Take the one star at face value or less.
