We moved to town and out of ignorance chose waste management for trash removal. After WM continued to delay our service (sometimes for weeks) we decided it was time to switch. We called Shaw and after a 4 minute phone call (no automated system or anything or the sort) we were signed up and ready to go. Since then, it has been awesome. Shaw has never missed a single day. Each time they arrive and I’m in the yard they’re very personable and pleasant. Always saying hi. We are very happy with our service. Highly recommend.

I used GW Shaw for 9 years found their degrading over the years. They missed months of service(I had a dumpster), what was worse their billing is chaotic and confusing. Occasional extra charges for certain waste such as 2x4s and drywall. This was a company I once trusted, but the last 3yrs was far from organized. The actual service pickup was uneventful and not a problem. In the end they charged for extra month when I terminated their service not professional. I never rented a dumpster before and we are cleaning out our house so we can make some updates. The woman that took my call was very polite and informative. They managed to get the dumpster in my driveway; on planks the next day. The cost was far better than a few companies I called and not many mentioned the tonage adds. She was up front about all the costs. If we every need any of the services they provide; we will call them again.Service: Dumpster rental

I'm considering switching because our dumpster is overloaded and every time I call they say the truck will be there that day. They are two weeks late and still nothing! If there's bad weather you're pushed out another week and then it's some other reason. There's no announcement that they aren't picking up that day and you have no idea when they might show up next. If at all at this point! I've been a customer for 4 years and have never had such terrible service from them. So disappointed.Service: Dumpster rental

We forgot to put our barrels out 2 weeks in a row so our trash was totally packed and heavy. I just watched these guys pull out bags by hand to lighten the load before letting the truck lift the barrel. I've had companies in the past who just don't pick up. They also pick up any trash that falls on the ground during disposal and neatly put the barrels back at the end of the driveway. As a former customer I have to say that their drivers are honest and hard-working people, they get all my respect and sympathy. Their people in the office are the reason I use their competition now for trash pickup. Customer service is at the stone-age level and up-to-date information is hard to get from this company. You need to call to ensure if your trash pickup schedule will be impacted by severe weather or upcoming holiday. If you are lucky to get past the busy signal on their telephone line you get to speak with an angry aggravated person who, you can tell, has already answered hundreds of customer calls. No updates on the website, no automated text or voice mail. Wonder how they still do business in 21st century. You need to call or otherwise. Maybe they don't care, but so do I.Service: Trash removal & disposal

Shout out to the GW & Son team for taking my mattress. Sounds like a "small" thing but there was a mistake in pick up - they apologized for the mistake and got it taken care of. Every company makes mistakes, but not as many make them right afterwards. Thakls!Service: Mattress removal & disposal

Such great customer service—We missed the post about Shaw picking up trash a day early due to the holiday, when we saw the truck pass by our house this morning we panicked since we already had a full barrel (our son’s birthday and Christmas in the same week will do that) and we hadn’t put the bin out. I called them and they sent the truck back around for us- thank you so much!

I usually don’t take the time to write reviews on my experience with companies but GW Shaw & Son are beyond exceptional! I shopped around for prices looking for a roll-off dumpster and they were by far the best! Not only did they have great prices, the staff is incredible! We threw a few curve balls with our situation gutting our house and they were friendly, patient and flexible and made everything a breeze! It was the best customer service I have experienced in a long time. I highly recommend GW Shaw & Son!

Driver Dan is exceptional! He just saved me from dumpster diving today. I was outside fully dressed in trash bags ready to jump in because Walmart wouldn't take back a $100 Christmas toy for my 4 year old son without the box to the toy. I had just gotten off the phone with Walmart and Dan came to empty the dumpster. Dan stopped his pickup, jumped in the dumpster and picked out the wet soggy box from the bottom. I absolutely 100% recommend this company. Exceptional customer service.

These folks were great! How so? They were polite and helpful on the phone when I called, they showed up on time, with a courtesy call when they were on their way and then, picked up my container right on time. No hassle, no worries. It was a pleasure working with them. I will certainly use them again when I need a dumpster.

I called with a concern this morning about drivers missing my trash on Joyce Street. The staff member answering my call listened attentively, asked specific questions and assured me that someone would be back to check. Within the hour my trash had been picked up. Great service and lowest price around... I had my own barrels so mthly service was only $33 for both trash and recycling! Weekly pick up... cant beat that.. amazing and they pick up other stuff too!

I suggest you find a company that is honest/ upfront about their prices, including their fees. Apparently, you are only fully informed about your rental if you call and make arrangements with the office and not with “whoever” responds to their e-mails..

Charging five dollars a day after the first two weeks, too keep a dumpster at your house is ridiculous. If you are renovating your house, I would not use this company.
