I had 2 old skylights and a couple of leaks that patches were not remedying. My roof looks amazing with the new black shingles and the job took a day to complete and they cleaned up so well that you can't even tell they were ever here.I called around to a few places for estimates to replace my roof. One company was way way way overpriced and was clearly trying to take advantage. The second was priced in line but lacked good financing options and I had to call them to send the estimate and then call again to ask about Financing. In that mix was Northkit, #3.......I left my info for a consult on their site, received a preliminary call and some texts that morning to set up a consult with Vaughn the next day. Vaughn came over early, took a bunch of pictures and then had a 3D rendering to show us with a quote that was inline with another contractor. Additionally, they had good financing options and the ability to do the job in 1 day and schedule said job quickly. The Day of the Job, Frank was on site abt 6 different times. He was on the roof, walking the property and asking questions to make sure we were satisfied with the work as it progressed. They were there at 7 with a dumpster, ripping shingles off by 730 and off the property by 530 after running a magnet over the property to ensure no nails were left. I counted close to 10 people actively working and cleaning up as they progressed. My skylights look great!

If you are looking for a company to do your roof, windows, and/or siding then look no further. From start to finish Northkit was amazing to work with. They were the last company we met with prior to choosing someone to do the job and the saying "we saved the best for last" rang true. Bryant sat down with me and my fiance and went through the process step by step with a powerpoint on his ipad which made it super easy to envision what the phases of the project would look like. As someone who is a first time homeowner and knows next to nothing about construction related matters, this was VERY much appreciated. It also unintentionally highlighted some other companies shortcomings when it came to quality of product, integrity of installation, and general attention to detail. A project manager was on site each day of the project and was readily available to answer any questions as well as manage any challenges that popped up. For example-The window manufacturer sent the wrong type of window and this issue was taken care of immediately, no questions asked. I have heard horror stories from other people about companies being inflexible and unwilling to take responsibility for things once payment was received but this couldn't have been further from the truth with Northkit. Chuck was amazing and worked closely with us throughout the project. Vaughn was approachable and honest, which is hard to find from a business owner these days. Kris was kind and thoughtful and paid attention to detail. All of the people who worked on the project were incredibly hard working and completely transformed our house. They were also diligent about tidying up and making sure the yard was safe for our two dogs to be in after they were finished working for the day. We live in a small community and received tons of compliments on the work Northkit did. Best of all, they offered the most competitive financing options out of anyone we met with. Great quality, great service. I signed the contract on Tuesday and they were here on Friday to replace the roof.I had my doubts with snow in the forecast but Frank assured me he accommodated for the weather. We recently contracted Northkit to replace the roof and gutters on our home. I want to start out by saying the roof itself came out great. The initial communications, including the consultation were also great. Once we signed our contract and the work was “complete” things took a turn for the worst.We contracted Northkit to replace the gutters on our home. We are not gutter experts which is why we hired this company. During our consultation, which included their representative looking at our existing roof and gutters, we were not told we had a specific type of gutter that was above a standard gutter installation. We only found out once the workers were done and we were told portions of our gutter were outside the scope of the contract (which simply says replace gutters). We have been trying to reach someone at Northkit to have someone come out to get a second quote to finish the gutter replacement (even though technically we already contracted them for this purpose) and have gotten zero response from anyone. This is obviously very frustrating and disappointing for us as we were hoping to have the work completed by one company and when we were welcomed to the “Northkit Family” I never thought I would get ghosted by such a reputable company.Like I said at the outset, this company does good work but they really need to work on their communication and professionalism.Services: Gutter installation, Roof repair, Roof installation

These reviews matter and hopefully this one worth reading as you make your decision. Our contracting process with Nortkit took months. It took months because we knew we wanted to go with them but we weren't ready to pull the trigger. There was no pressure, they answered our countless questions and were ready for us when the time was right. The day before installation we changed the project. Their attitude was very much, "bring it on". There is nothing you can't throw at us that we can't handle. So, we changed our minds again, and they rolled with it. Now they could have hammered us in new cost, late change fees and more and they didn't. Don't get me wrong, we paid more, but they were more than fair. The crew worked clean and smart throughout the entire project, cleaning the property every day. Fast forward and we actually hit a bump in the road due to an actual error. The response from Northkit was, "we want you to make your love what we have done and we'll make it right". There was zero push back. This tells you the difference between good, better and best. The end result is a home we are proud of. Our neighbors are losing their minds and blown away by the end result. We did our homework and trusted our gut. We made the right call. We're the Nutley black and white board and batten home. Ask them for our address and come see it for yourself our ask for our number and we'll answer any question you might have bout any part of the process. With Northkit, you get quality craftmanship and people you can trust.

Northkit installed Hardie plank siding that came out extremely nice. Siding and trim installed to specification. Project manager Chuck was on site every day making sure we were satisfied as the job progressed. Clean up was done at the end of each day. Five Stars.

I got a quote from chris and it wasn't the lowest quote I got but used them because of the financing. Chris explained that if we needed additional ply on the roof if we needed 5 they would supply 2 and we would beresponsible for the other 3. On the day of the installation I tried reaching the guy that was in charge of the job and was told he wasn't there after calling him he informed me that he went to get the 5 sheets of ply.When I asked him how much my 3 sheets would cost he told me $450 because it's $150 per sheet. I told him I could go get it a home depot but ge said it wouldn't matter because the $450 included the removal of the old ply and replacing it. I was upset because I thought replacement of the ply was already included in the roof replacement.Later that day I contacted the guy again and he claimed he was at the warehouse getting 19 more sheets of ply, ibasked him why wasn't I notified and he claimed he thought the project manager had called me. I later realized that they knew how much I was approved for and they were just trying to pad my bill.I contacted frank about these additional ply that I was not notified about and all he could say is that they will take something off and that my monthly payments wouldn't be much higher, I had no intentions of turning an almost $18,000 quote into $21,000which was what I was already approved for. After realizing that they were just trying to max out the loan I emailed and texted chris#1 and text frank about this additional cost and sent them pictures of the stripped roof stating that I didn't see any damages that needed 24 sheets of ply but they never responded.Later that week I got a call from someone claiming to be their boss asking me to sign off on the release of the last payment, I told him I was running late for work so I would do it when I had a chance, he tried rushing me to do it then. After I got to work and had a chance to check it I realized it was incorrect so I called him and he answered immediately because he wanted the money, when I explained the situation he checked it and just casually said its only off by $200 he corrected it and asked me to approvedit then claim he would send my receipt and warranty right away. I have been checking my email since that day and nothing from him, I called and text him and still nothing. I contacted his office and still haven't received my documents.I will never use or recommend them to anyone else. One of the quotes I received was almost $2000 cheaper and they were going to do my gutters,pipes and trims and there was no additional cost for any additional wood they would have needed. I should mention that the other company has great reviews. I really don't understand why they were much more expensive and still charged me all that money for a sheet of ply.why would they charge me additional to remove and replace wood on a roof you're already paid to work on. I am not happy with them and would never use them again. The pictures after the roof was stripped does not show that it needed that much wood and I expressed that to them and they had nothing to say, in the end all they claimed to have done was not changed me for 11 sheets of ply, but in the end what they charged me for the 14 could have paid for alot more. Just goes to show its all about the money no one cares about the customers after they're done.

A friend of ours referred Northkit after doing their siding, windows, and roofing. They were very quick to respond and came the same day for the estimate. Bryant was the estimator and was very easy to talk to and came with a presentation on an ipad. He took his time to answer questions and was able to show us a rendering of our roof during the same visit so we could see the different colored shingles.The roofing job was scheduled and happened just two weeks after the estimate. Although we were told it would be done the same day, they had to come back the next day to finish up.The 1 less star is because there was a miscommunication between Bryant and the contractor/owner, Frank, where we were supposed to have the old roof vents removed. Frank was very willing to listen to our concerns and did everything he could to make things right.Overall the roof looks great and we are happy with the outcome.

These guys are top-notch. Our entire roof and four skylights were in desperate need of replacement. We called four other roofing companies for comparison and while North Kit was the most competitive, they also made us feel the most comfortable. Vaughan and Frank at Northkit were so helpful and patient throughout the entire process. No gimmicky sales pitches, no smoke and mirrors - just overall solid and sound. The installers were all friendly and worked their butts off to get the entire job completed in one day. One of the owners was on-site the entire day to oversee the job. There is a sea of roofing companies out there and if anything like us, most homeowners have a difficult time choosing one and feeling trusting and confident in the process.
