Carlos was amazing in the planning of creating a way to close the open area going down our basement steps, by designing an open partition railing. He understood exactly our concern about the safety issue and drew out his diagram to meet that concern. He gave us a supply list and we are picking up the lumber, etc which is an easy thing for us to do, and we are set to start in a week.He is professional and detailed and we are completely confident this will be a 100% fix for this issue. The Handyman has been impressive to work with and will be our go to company for any work we need done in the future! I will also give them out to friends to use! 10++March 10, 2024 This is an update to my previous post above. Carlos completed the work on our railing and stairs and it looks amazing!!!!! It exceeded our expectations and then some!!! A true gentleman and master carpenter!!! Attached are 2 photos, one is the downstairs wall Carlos built to secure the open area on the steps and the 2nd one is the view of the stairs from the top of our steps from the kitchen. he needed to build the partition in the first picture so there would be a wall like structure to support the new railing and so we would not fall through the open area when walking down the stairs. he also laid on each step, a rubber step cover with coarse grit on the surface to assure a safe step each step down. it is actually used around outdoor pools to prevent slipping on the wet concrete around the pool area! ***** stars.

My 20 foot dryer vent has never, ever, been cleaned so thoroughly as it was by Bendel from Mr. Handyman. Previous visits over the years by other contractors didn't even come close and left the job half done. Mr. Handyman is highly recommended and I will use them again regularly as needed. More cost effective than replacing a dryer because of a clogged vent! Job well done!

Called to see if they do termite damage repair. Since I did not open the walls I was unaware of what extent the damage was. Got a next day appointment and David was sent out. Nice gentleman, easy to talk to and he got right to work. Took all necessary precautions to minimize mess and kept me advised on each step, he even made sure to tell my dog that he was getting ready to make some noise. Unfortunately, the damage was out of the scope of his and the companies expertise being how a long section of the wall plate needed to be replaced. Office personnel were very friendly and helpful also and offered a reference of a company to call. We had our roof repaired and two toilets replaced. David had the whole job done in 3 hours. He informed us of the possibility we may need to replace a vent in the roof that was the cause of our leak. Mr. Handyman tech, Wayne, was professional, kind, knowledgeable, answered all questions, and gave good reliable advice. I will request him again. There were about 10 items on the list to do and he did everything from grouting, curtain shower install, door latch repair, wall unit lighting, and indoor and outdoor alignment. He was able to problem solve and did not waste time but did not rush either and did the job correctly. Worth every penny. They left a mess. The tech didn't have garbage bags, my husband had to give them to him. The tech arrived at 8am and then spent 45 minutes in his truck. He worked a total of 4 hours and billed for 7 hours. They mark up the material 80%, but it gets better. On top of the 80% they tally the time it takes for them to get the material from their shop to the billable hours they charged us!!!!They knew before hand the job needed sheet rock. I'm suprised they dont charge for the number hours they slept the night before because they needed the rest to do our job. The tech left a complete mess. They don't use a shop vac. I selected Mr. Handyman based on seeing their trucks at homes in the area. I needed someone to remove and install a wood backdoor. Most contractors don't do small jobs like this. Mr. Handyman answered my call and scheduled an appointment within 4 days. Amazing. I already had the new door so the service tech just said, "I got this. Will let you know when I'm done." He installed the door and, new handles and deadbolt. The job required some alteration and the serv tech had the supplies. I felt the service tech respected our house, worked hard and completed the job. Next time I would have Mr. Handyman measure the size door I needed. I apparently ordered the wrong size but the service tech overcame this issue.Service: Installation

I hired this company to replace 9 deck boards on my deck . They told me it would take about 3 hours -$500.00.The window to for the tech to arrive was 12-1pm.I made work arrangements to get home at 12:00.A. The Tech arrived around 1:15 pmB. The tech did not finished the job because it was too hot and he stops working at 4:00 pm. Actually the temperature began to drop and the area became shaded.C. He was suppose to come back after 4pm on Thursday or Friday to finish the job. He never returned and I never heard back from the company.D. I spent $437.00 for 3.5 deck boards to be replaced.E. I had to make arrangements to get the deck job finished over the weekend, which cost me more money.I would never use this company again and I advise anyone not to get a quote by the hour, especially during the summer. Had a shelf fall down and take alot of drywall with it. When I called, they said they could have someone out within the hour to do the repair, while I was expecting a few days to just get an estimate. Repairman actually was ahead of schedule and was kind and professional. Did the repair no problem and got it done quickly but not rushed, which was much appreciated since they bill by the hour. They definitely have fair rates and in the end, I ended up spending a few hundred dollars less than I anticipated to spend for the repair after doing some general research as to how much I should expect to spend. I couldn't have asked for a more painless process. Would definitely recommend, especially if you are busy and don't have much time to shop around, get estimates, etc. and just want to get the repair done and move on.Service: Drywall repair
