Atlantic Mechanical Contractors of Clifton, NJ just installed a new blower motor in my furnace. They also installed a humidifier, a UV Light, and a smart thermostat. I was amazed at how quickly and efficiently the work was done. Al and his partner would not leave until they were sure that my wife and I knew how to work everything. They were absolute gentlemen. On Dec. 18, 2023, our sump pump (primary and backup combined unit, 13 years old) was out of order and basement was flooded. My sister bought a new battery (good and fully charged, tested in Autozone) and connected it to the backup pump, but both pumps were still not working. Then she called Atlantic Mechanical Contractors (AMC Clifton NJ). A plumber replaced the primary pump (works until now), cost of $1200 (part market price $200±). However, the plumber diagnosed the backup pump worked normally and reinstalled it. The plumber DID NOT suggest to replace the 13 year-old pump either (now we know, pumps of older than 8-10 years should be replaced, no matter it works or not). 2-3 wks later, the primary pump worked as needed, but the backup pump didn’t when we disconnected the primary pump. Then we replaced total 3 new batteries from Autozone and all were damaged after connected to the pump, indicating a bad pump. In 2-3 wks, the plumber came back, and only told us that pump worked last time. I asked him to check the pump, but he refused and said that he is not electrician and doesn’t know how to do it. So, how did he know the pump was working at the beginning? In another 2-3 wks, the second plumber checked the pump and diagnosed the pump was broken. Customer Service said that they are not responsible for the backup pump. Our questions: (1) our pump is primary and backup combined unit, if basement was flooded, that meant both are out of order. The plumber should have diagnosed and repaired the two pumps; (2) the plumber made wrong diagnosis of backup pump, which supported by: A) before the plumber arrived, our basement continued to be flooded with a new battery in the backup pump. B) We connected total 3 new batteries to the backup sump, all were damaged (confirmed by Autozone); (3) the plumber DID NOT suggest my sister to replace the 13 year-old pump. The work-done paper (receipt) shows no suggestion for replacement either; (4) we need the backup pump to work and AMC (Clifton NJ) should keep promise of 3 year warranty; (5) AMC service was full of pain. I spent a lot of time (in nearly 2 months, made nearly 30 calls total, I believe) in talking and debating again and again. My friends, customers and professionals, how do you think about my experience? Do you think AMC did a good job? Is this the right way for a company to do business and satisfy customers? What should I do to protect my right (perhaps court will be a help)? Do you want to get services from Atlantic Mechanical Contractors (Clifton NJ)?

Unlike the guys that we have paid for years to maintain our systems, Atlantic and their team were able to respond quickly to a boiler that died. This is for a church, and we really wanted to be able to host services for Christmas Eve. Team Atlantic literally worked around the clock to make sure we had heat in our sanctuary. They replaced our entire HVAC system and it’s been a disaster!! It failed inspection the fuses keep blowing out in the furnace and we have no heat. They don’t call you back I had to spend another $2000 dollars with a different company to get this repaired. When it’s below 30 degrees outside the heat can’t keep up and the warmest I can get my house is 68 degrees. Stay away from this company - I would never recommend them. We will be filing a lawsuit with the court to get our money back so we can replace this system.Service: Heating system installation

Very pleased with Atlantic Mechanical Contractors. They assessed our steam boiler and hot water heater after we had an emergency carbon monoxide alarm went off in our home (our house is an old colonial built late 1800’s/early 1900’s) - we had a huge leak and needed an emergency repair. The dispatcher (Zack) understood the urgency and two contractors arrived within 2 hours to confirm the nature of repairs/replacement. Both units required replacement, with the boiler replacement requiring a complete build of the unit (due to small tight spaces of the older home) along with all new copper pipes and shut off valves, which were all in disrepair. The hot water heater was a same day install, the boiler replacement was a very big job (2 full work days) since a complete unit would not fit through our doorways/stairwell - they were able to order a new boiler, build and install it with all the new plumbing and exhaust to our chimney. Fair estimate and transparent communication about additional labor costs throughout the job (it was a complex job); Omar, Moses and Adam were all very professional and completed the installations ahead of the colder weather arriving. They even made a quick return call on a Sunday to re-ignite our water heater’s pilot light! Great service and amazing quality of their work! Strongly recommend!Service: Heating system installation

Paul was an excellent example of what customer service and quality work looks like. He knew what had to be done. Was quick safe and very clean through the entire project. After installing a new AC - I asked him to manage a few plumbing issues as well. Paul had no issues and was very prompt and professional. Our central heating got faulty, and it was difficult to find an appointment with an HVAC expert due to a busy season. All the quotes we received were outrageous and unfair. Hi had AMC repair my central air condition unit. They replaced a relay. Which turned out to be a $40 part. They gave me no indication of what the cost would be before they did the work. They then finished in 45 minutes and charged me $585 for the job. They clearly took advantage of me. When I called the office to speak to the owner they indicated that the owner would call me the next day.I received no call from the owner and when I called back to confirm they told me the owner was on vacation. They basically told me they should have given me an estimate before hand but it was my problem and there was nothing they can do for me. They are scam artists and take advantage of people by purposely not giving them an estimate before doing the work. Do not use this company. Our water heater stopped working out of nowhere. My husband tried to fix it to his best understanding but failed. He then called his dad and he came to our home with his toolkit. He was able to fix it, but after a couple of hours, it stopped working again. That was the final straw. I called this company immediately and they were at our door the next day. After a detailed diagnosis, they fixed the water heater. Awesome job.

It was pretty hot and humid in my apartment due to ac malfunction and the outside unit on the roof needed repair. My landlord kept stalling me. Finally, I got him to call this company. Guys from Atlantic were at my door within an hour and they brought a ladder because there was no roof access.These guys are real pros because they were able to find the problem within half an hour and fixed it in under an hour. Called with an emergency. They came right away. Diagnosed and fixed the problem under an hour. Thought I would be charged an extra fee for the issue being an emergency. To my surprise I WAS NOT!!!!!!!
