Gold Medal Construction just replaced our very large retaining wall and extended our patio in the backyard to give us so much extra outdoor living space. Gold Medal replaced our roof two years ago and did a fantastic job. The new roof and gutters are perfect. Now two years later I noticed some loose flashing along one eve. Thinking a squirrel may have caused this, I contacted Gold Medal. Jim’s crew arrived quickly and secured the loose flashing. They confirmed no critters had made entry into the house. We retained the services of Gold Medal Construction to repair a water leak from our chimney and to replace the rotted wood around the chimney as well as in the siding of our home. Jim came across as being very professional and knowledgeable. Once the project was underway, Jim was transparent about timelines, commenced work promptly as committed, and successfully completed the project on schedule. It was a two day job and after each day his team would clean up after them. Jim also found time to address some of our other issues in the home that were unrelated to the job we hired him for. Dealing with Gold Medal Construction- Jim and Team, is such a pleasant experience. Extremely professional team! I recently contracted Jim and team for installing pavers in my backyard. Jim gave us a lot of ideas to make the place look good. He suggested alternatives to suit the budget. He was not pushy and did not try to sell - was focussed on addressing our ask. We are so pleased with our experience with Jim and his team. We hired Gold Medal Construction to fix our yard. We had moved into a house that had no work done previously in the yard (an absolute eyesore). Thanks to Jim and his team we can now enjoy the view into our beautiful yard. One of the owner came out to give me an estimate on refinishing and repairing a deck. Told me he was also an inspector for Rahway. He asked if John (from the building department) to leave a note on my deck? He was trying to make the job bigger and wanted me to pullout permits. There are no structural changes. I’m an investor, a real estate agent, and come from a family of builders. He tried to instill fear, but when I spoke up and ask him to leave my property he got aggressive and started walking towards me. I pulled out my phone and began recording, he then left the premises. I did not want to work with Gold Medal Construction! Thereafter a DPW white truck with tinted windows sat for hours watching.

If you are looking for a top professional, honest, and decent contractor look no further.My wife and I were looking for a contractor to pave our backyard and we came across Jim. I called him and half hour later he showed up. We told him what we need. He gave us a price we could not refuse. We asked him to start the following day. Indeed, the following day 5 amazing guys showed up at 7:30am and worked until 6:00pm. Jim was checking on them every few hours, I even saw Jim working with them side by side.In 3 days they finish the job that should take at least one week in a way was better and beyond expectation.Jim, has a good heart. His initial inspection visit was stellar made me feel at ease from the very beginning. He listened to me, asked questions, took measurements and then asked more questions. Once he had all of the information he gave me a comprehensive bid. He did not take a deposit until I was 100% certian of the color and he made 3 trips to bring me samples! Jim and his Gold Medal team were amazing! Our first consultation was free and Jim gave us his engineering/contracting opinion which included ideas that would work best for our entire project.
