So much to say. The team was professional, efficient and meticulous. Results exceeded my expectations. George made sure the process was stress free and simple.Project was to stain a newly installed fence with to match an existing portion of old fence. The paint was a perfect match, application was clean with no drips or streaks. Results look fantastic; modern and clean. We called G&P Painting (George) to do some wallpaper removal and painting in our home. George and his partner kept pushing off the start day (scheduled to start Monday and eventually came that Friday). The morning they came, my husband and I explained to them that there was another contractor coming that morning that just needed to finish up his tile work in our bathroom that day. George got very upset at us and yelled at us saying we should have told him about this (even though he himself showed up several days late!) When our original contractor came to finish up his tile work, George claimed he would do wallpaper removal in that same bath first, so our other contractor had to wait for 3 hours. He was completely uncooperative when we asked if he could start in a different area of house and let this guy just finish up his work that morning. Then I had asked if he could give us the contract (originally only gave us a written estimate on his business card), but he kept telling me three times to "not worry about it" and he would give it to us. At the end of the first day, after he had already removed all the wallpaper in our house and left the walls bare, he kept complaining to us that he would be charging us extra. We then asked if he could give us the contract and how much extra he wants to charge and why. George said he would charge us $600 extra and when asked why, he said " I didn't think it was going to be so much work!" How does a person not know how much work something will be after seeing the project firsthand, giving an estimate, and also claiming to have done this type of work for over twenty years??!!! As if this wasn't enough, he soaked our carpets while washing our walls and told me "Don't worry about it, it's only water (dirty!!)" when I asked him to use some dry cloth / plastic to protect our carpets. After they completed their paint job, we came to realize that they used generic paint that was color-matched, not the Sherwin Williams paint we had paid for!! We were extremely disappointed with George and felt that we were ripped off, and had to face a rude, unprofessional and uncooperative individual for several days while trying to make our home look nice for its upcoming sale.Services: Paint indoors, Wallpaper removal

GP Painting did exceptional work for us in our home in Montclair and we highly recommend their services. George (the owner) is highly professional and skilled, and does beautiful prep work and painting, as well as superb wallpaper hanging. He brings an artistic eye to everything he does, and goes the extra mile with any extra repairs needed to make the room he is working on look finely finished (for example he perfectly re-installed extra baseboard moldings left off by a previous contractor, and came up with creative solutions to make another room look great when we ran short on the amount of wallpaper we supplied to him, and couldn't order more). We have an old Victorian home with irregular nooks and crannies everywhere that requires a lot of attention to detail, and he took care of all those details, completing the job with top-notch work done quickly yet thoroughly, and at a fair price. George was excellent ! His work is exceptional. We have used him twice, once for our upstairs bedrooms, and next to paint our kitchen and family room after a kitchen renovation. We were on a very tight schedule and George was able to fit us in at a fair, competitive price. He spent days meticulously preparing the walls (spackling, sanding, and fixing imperfections), taping, and protecting the floors prior to the actual painting. He is extremely thorough, trustworthy, and very hard working. His work is exceptional and takes pride in his work. We very highly recommend him.

He pointed imperfections we might not have noticed out and his eye for detail made the finished project perfect. George is an excellent communicator and is punctual which is very hard to find with contractors sometimes. Our house needed a lot of work, and George was definitely up for the task. He spackled and painted our walls and made the house look brand new, while being affordable. He is efficient, does great work, and keeps the house tidy as well. Definitely would recommend him. George painted the interior of my house and was amazing from the start! He answered my calls and did the estimate almost immediately after we spoke. He worked with my schedule as I requested and showed up every morning on time (even a few minutes earlier). He is great with picking out colors if you can't decide and is extremely detail oriented, his partner was also very careful and detail oriented. Oh my goodness! I love.. love my painted walls in my new home. They look brand new. My home looks bigger, and brighter. I took pictures and no special effect filter needed. Pinterest worthy. George is an artist! He did A+ job. He is gifted what he does. He is professional, a meticulous craftsman, a great communicator (he communicates with you during the whole process and he even calls you right back) and a very nice person. He listened to what I wanted and made it happen. Loved all his suggestions. He spend time prepping the interior..sanded the uneven walls, caulk all the cracks before painting (even cleaned my ceiling lights). George came by to give me an estimate but ended up charging me more.than we agreed on. We did not decide on a color paint and waited for my wife to pick. So when we said we wanted to paint molding, walls, and doors a different color he raised the price. On top of that he would not paint both sides of the door which to me makes no sense. We are not painters so we need everything to be dummy proof for us. We are honest hard working people that do not write negative reviews. This is actually my first one. I don’t want anybody else to be tricked by this guy. Please get everything in writing. Overall the work performed was ok, but not what we expected for the price. On another note my wife would also ask him to paint things a certain way and he would argue with her. Very unprofessional.Service: Paint indoors

Geogre did Not let anything pass by him. He made sure that if he wasnt happy with the outcome, he would make sure it came out right. He has a keen eye for imperfections. I would highly recommend George. He has removed wall paper & glue, sanded the walls where needed & painted ceilings & walls. Very neat. Not a drop of paint on floors or furniture.
