January 2, 2024The day after New Years.As a Homeowner I have experience Trials and Tribulations dealing with Contractors. They want you to pay them, but they do not do what you tell them or they wait till you get busy and not around to watch them and they Don't do what you ask and pretend they did it. I must be honest at first I discriminated against "On Time Construction" because of its name. I said to myself "On Time Construction...."Please"!". So I skipped over it(that name) while looking for a Construction Company in the Jersey City listings. I just finished renovation paid the Contractor and as a Contractor he should have seen this problem would arise...must Contractors don't care just money no morals. So now, I am faced with a dying need, last minute problem with a New Tenant on the way. I decided to call another Construction Company that was listed everything was confirmed for the next day...day came my world was turned upside down again with Contractors...No call No show. I then called the Construction Company I discriminated against because of the name "On Time Construction". I called spoke to a Gentleman, tried explaining the issues and told him my address. He said he will be there 10 minutes. I laughed to myself...10 minutes yah right. My phone rang back in 10 minutes and I could hear him at my door. NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER. I have now since erase every Construction Company in my call list. "ON TIME CONSTRUCTION COMPANY"!!! is who I will deal with for now on and I will!!!I give them an A+ and 5 stars.Thank You, ON TIME CONSTRUCTION...so much for your work ethics and professionalism and having the work team with the same common work ethics goal that your Company represents.Alethea Stevenson

We just had On Time Construction fully refurbish our hardwood floor and it turned out better than expected. Very clean and presentable. They covered the entire floor with quality flooring for an affordable price. We were given updates along the way from the project manager and David the Owner on the progress being made. They always kept their area clean and all the materials put to the side. We never received interference from any of the workers. Everything was spacious and plenty of room to maneuver freely throughout our home. They conducted themselves with professionalism and organization. We highly recommend this company for interior home improvements.

I can not say enough good things about On Time Construction. I had them remove a leaky bathtub liner and install new bathub, tile, as well as repaint my bathroom. They also repaired the ceiling on the floor below. This was an urgent project for me and David responded and came out right away to take a look and then started immediately. I was deceived by the five stars reviews which I don't know if they were from real customers or not. I hired them to do a bathroom remodel, floor refinishing and painting job. Their estimate was the highest among all those companies I inquired. Because of the five stars reviews I thought that maybe their work quality is the best so I hired them. The 14 days job turned to be a more than 2 months nightmare. The first several days everything went well, then they started to take on other jobs and left my job aside. I didn't have toilet and shower for many days. They were non responsive some time. I decided to monitor their job later on. When I was on site, one of the workers kept chatting with me and asking about my private life instead of doing his work, or chatting with another worker and wasted a lot of time. The flooring guy left huge gap not refinished around the borders and corners of the rooms. The painting guy left places in the closets unfinished when they claimed the job done.They also tricked me into doing some electrical job. A one day job from permit application to the finish took 5 months. They tried to increase the price when they were finally on the site to do the job. The owner is very rude and unresponsive many times. Their staff changed a lot which caused poor management of the work. And I wonder why their staff keep leaving the company. After finally finished my job they didn't close the work permit with the city. That caused serious delay and big trouble when I was selling the condo.Choose another company! Do not choose them!

Awesome experience with Ontime Construction!So, I setup an appointment with David for my condo to be renovated. Everything needed to be removed and changed. The floors for the whole condominium, kitchen , bathroom, bedrooms. They did a spectacular job! David told me that it would take a few months to be completed..which was totally understandable but they managed to complete the work a few weeks earlier which was a plus! Their prices are very reasonable and David was so helpful. The workers were knowledgeable and answered all of the questions I asked in a polite manner This is a very professional business whom I have recommended to my family and friends.Thanks so much! I used on time construction for a recent plumbing issue in my apartment. The owner David came out to assess for a quote of work needed. The quote was ready within a few hours. The work spanned a week, the workers were always on time. The finished result for tiling and ceiling work exceeded my expectations! My experience with Ontime Construction was a disaster. I wish I had never trusted the unanimously positive reviews I read on Yelp when I first hired them, which in retrospect seem generic and likely fabricated (the reviews since late Oct on the other hand paint an entirely different picture — but, too late for me).My wife and I hired them to renovate our enclosed front porch. They lied to us about hiring an architect: We paid a fee for an architectural rendering, which should have been submitted to us and filed before the project even began, and we never saw a sign of it. And they lied to us about the necessity to obtain a permit to replace the floor and joists in the porch, which of course turns out to be absolutely required.There was never a consistent crew at our house, and we went through three project managers in the span of a month. As a result, there was no uniform approach or plan for our project, despite our repeated requests for one. The work performed on our porch was shoddy, sub-par, and, as we would ultimately discover, not to code. Ontime rushed from one step to the next in order to meet the payment “milestones” designated in the contract. As a result, joists were installed incorrectly (wrong wood, wrong hardware, wrong cuts) and are not to code, drywall was installed before insulation was complete, and a cinderblock “foundation” wall was not aligned properly and is useless.Nobody oversaw our project. The office manager “Franchesca,” had no hands-on understanding of our porch and generally dismissed or ignored our repeated emails expressing concern. It seems her primary focus was to move forward to collect money, not to ensure that anything was done properly. David was at our house once at the beginning to collect a check, and was a no-show for two appointments to address our issues. He only responded to us when we finally wizened up after hiring a structural engineer to review their work and fired Ontime. We now are out a significant amount of money, and are stuck with a mess on our hands which a competent, legitimate contractor will have to clean up.My advice: DO NOT HIRE ONTIME! If my warning is too late, I highly recommend that you hire an independent expert to review their work before proceeding.
