If I could give -10 stars, I would! Worst company ever. They sent an inexperienced handyman to do my work and left things worse than what it started out as. The technician only patch two holes in my wall, both I had to get re-done because it was done incorrectly. Then the smoke detectors never got changed and the light fixtures I primarily wanted changed was not done. In fact he attempted to do it and then realized he didn’t know how to. At this point, I was infuriated. When I tried to cancel, they refused to work with me to adjust the total amount or send me someone better. Then they charged my card discretely without me noticing so I was unable to dispute it since I didn’t catch the charge in time. Please save yourself the headache and either hire a professional or find someone you know that can do your work. Hiring these people is throwing money away!

If I could give less than one star I would, they sent a totally inexperienced carpenter to do an attic stair installation. He destroyed my ceiling and damaged the floor joists in the attic. He didn't have any tools, used a hand saw to try and cut things and left a mess. I called and emailed and got nowhere. I was told it was a two man job, but they sent one! I was told it would take another day but I wasn't paying again. I already paid them $900. I tried to get my money back and they ignored my emails and calls. I filed a complaint with NYC Dept of Consumer Affairs and they ignored them. I am planning on suing them in Small Claims Court. They are extraordinarily unprofessional and should not be in business.

Scam artist. Saleman are trained to under bid the amount of hrs a job will take then they send inexperienced “handymen” . I hired this co to install a drop ceiling in a commercial space .The next day 2 guys show up almost 2 hrs late .They spend the first 4 hrs drawing level lines on the ceiling . If you do the math thats 600 dollars to draw level lines !When i called the co to complain i was given every excuse why they only did limited work . I did not have the right material on site and they used that as a reason for the delay . They could have started snapping lines when i left to pickup the right materials but they didn't After getting no satisfaction from the operations manager i decided to talk to the handymen . Turns out one of them( who stood around most of the time ) had never done a drop ceiling and therefore could not really help . Imagine Paying someone a $100 dollars an hr and then have them stand around for almost 6 hrs doing almost nowork ! I asked them to leave after 6 hrs and had to hire someone else to finish the job. This co has multi state location but i can only speak for connecticut . Do not use this co if you are looking for experienced pros in CT .I have added pictures of the level lines and the 3 rooms of angle metal that they installed for$1270 !!!! Total scam.

Unprofessional inexperienced “ handy men “. Unable to do quality work while you are expected to pay top dollar for garbage quality. The workers excel at procrastination while on your clock. The customer service is incredibly arrogant. This is not a company anyone should look to do business with. They are riddled with better business bureau complaints. Theft of time is their bread and butter while doing shoddy work and over charging you for it. After seeing all of these complaints both here and at the BBB I will be looking into creating a class action against this horrible predatory company. Please keep any records or receipts. If you had to have another contractor come in to redo the work ask them for a statement letter explaining the work that had to be redone and the flaws that they found. There is a few complaints that these handy men charged tools to the job. I would suggest filing a police report for fraud in that case. In my case they took 5 hrs to place a 3ft rail and it wasn’t even finished properly. The spindles weren’t even secured to the frame! The worker cut them to short than tried using screws and finishing nails to poorly attach them. Every screw he put in is sticking out and I do mean every single screw that is how low quality this work is they can’t even completely run a single screw down! Let’s not forget to mention he decided to use rotten scrap wood I had on the side of the house to make a new steep that he didn’t even cut evenly! Will enjoy seeing how they explain that to a judge.Surcharges are legal in New Jersey, but as of August 18, 2023 they are capped by statute to “the actual cost to the seller to process the credit card payment.” (N.J.S.A. 56:8-156.1 and -156.2). In everyday business, this cost should equal or exceed the swipe fee by only a small amount, and the contractor who wants to charge more should be on his guard and ready to prove the difference. A violation of the new statute is an unlawful practice under the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act (N.J.S.A. 56:8-2 et. seq.) which protects New Jersey consumers from fraudulent and deceptive business practices. They have also committed forgery and wire fraud.Section 56:8-151 of the Home Improvement ContractorsThe Act’s contract requirements apply to all home improvement contracts “for a purchase price in excess of $500.” Almost any physical work on a home, no matter how minor or superficial it may seem, constitutes a “home improvement” that triggers the Act’s contract provisions if above that price.A contractor who tenders a home improvement contract that does not comply with the Act’s requirements, or fails to tender a home improvement contract, may be subjected to a claim under the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act. A non-compliant contract also threatens the contractor’s ability to be paid for their work. Any attempts to collect those amounts afford the homeowner an opportunity to bring a counterclaim under the CFA, which, if successful, can lead to an award of threefold the damages sustained by the homeowner as well as reasonable attorneys’ fees, filing fees, and reasonable costs of the suit.Senate Bill S1890 and Assembly Bill A2138 have passed both houses of the New Jersey Legislature and been signed by the governor. For the first time, the measure creates a license for home improvement contractors. The legislation is intended to protect New Jersey consumers from businesses that fail to complete their work or do a shoddy job.If you have been victimized by this company you can reach out to Assemblyman Paul Moriarty, a chief sponsor of the Bill. This company is why these bills were necessary. I am happy to help anyone that needs restitution from them.

Read this before booking. This is a real review from a real experience.I was quoted $460.00 after discount was applied and if I paid by cash, check or Zelle for a job I was told wouldn't take 3hrs but I had to book a minimum of 3hrs.The job was to add two pieces of sheet rock, plaster, prime and paint. I was reassured it could be done with time to spare. The first picture is prior to the job starting. They needed to replace the sheet rock on the left and add a piece above the window. Once the techs arrived they apologized for the misinformation because it would be impossible to prime and paint the same day.1st. Once you book the job it is nearly impossible to reach customer service2nd. I was quoted one price before the job, was told a different price Once the job was completed, but charged an additional higher charge on my credit card.3rd. Do not sign anything electronically. I was asked to sign a prejob consultation, there was nothing on the page only a signature box. The next day I was emailed the invoice with a higher rate and my electronic signature was added to it.4th. They start the clock on the job once their technicians arrive to your home, not enter or start working, once the GPS on their van says they arrive at the location. The clock stops once they leave your house, meaning, drive off.I was charged an additional hour because the techs were waiting to reach someone in the office regarding the discrepancy of payment. I was told $460.00, they were told $510.00. After paying the $460 through zelle, my credit card was charged an additional $157.36, claiming the job took 4 hours when it only took 3hrs.

Buyers beware.... This was without a doute the worst service I ever experienced. Some friendly advice do not waste your money on this company. I recently hired them to install Christmas lights on my roof(s), lower and top roof. They only completed the bottom level and said that they were unable to install the upper level because of what they referred to as siding issues. I had another company verify that there were not issues and the lights could have been installed. So, only about one third of the (agreed) work was completed. The small amount of work that was completed on the porch roof was done very poorly. About eight feet of excess a light stan dangled off the side of the house and strewn a crossed the floor of the porch. Nail It” charged me over $1300 for an uncompleted and shoddy job.

This company is a complete spam. I called them to assemble a playset. I had to send photos of what the playset and where it was going, the assembly was already started so I sent photos of what was there. The guy told me 2 guys for 5 hours and it would be done. I said okay great. They sent 2 guys, one guy worked his butt off, the other guy stood around and did nothing, took personal calls, and just texted on his phone. Luckily we have cameras everywhere so I could watch them. They accomplished nearly nothing because one person was working and one was just occasionally handing the other guy a board. The guy that was working was also not a "professional" at assembling play sets because he was spending a lot of time reading and I understand they aren't fun to assemble but don't advertise your professionals, when they clearly aren't. The manager said they don't guarantee any work being completed just the specific hours and she didn't care they just want there money. I have hired so many people for things in the past, and while of course circumstances happen and maybe it's not fully finished, or they didn't get as much as they hoped done, this was downright a rip off. They charged us $1,200 to assemble a $3,000 playset and they got not even halfway done. Here is the before and after of $1,200 of "work" 2 people for 5 hours. Do yourself a favor and don't hire them. I'm glad I read these reviews as well because so many people said they paid and tried to get their money back after the fact and were ignored and completely ghosted. We refused to pay they can test their luck in court. The manager thinks because you sign a contract you just have to pay them so that's what she will try to tell you but a contract works both ways, they have to uphold their own contract, and I signed for 2 men to work for 5 hours, that didn't happen. I also would like to add that I told the manager the one guy was on personal calls and texting and not working and she didn't care, she said she would ask the other guy, which she did, and he confirmed the guy took personal calls for approx 45 minutes. So they even knowingly hire and are aware that their employees are not caring about doing the job. I don't understand how this company is still running.

Horrible company. The person you first deal with Ben Sullivan is just someone who sells you time with no knowledge of the work to be done. He says yes we can do that then when the technician gets there they are incompetent. We hired them for tile repair and regrouting our tub. Paid over $700 and nothing was done, NOTHING. Stay away from Nail it Handyman they are anything but that. Customer service is also rude!

So far so good- day one down, hopefully will be finished tomorrow!! Update- So, over the course of three days 7/19-7/21, 2023, the job was never completed and I had to terminate them because the costs kept increasing. They were supposed to do a small bathroom tile over tile- they had to send three technicians out, destroyed some of my tile because they had to take down what the first guy put up and refused to refund my money. Still ended up with a bathroom that is not useable. BEWARE!!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. It was very easy to set the job and take my money but when it's time to discuss the poor quality of the job done by Jameson B., I get nothing.I've been calling and no call back. I was told that it sometimes takes doctors 48 hours to respond. Who are these people? Who says something like that to a customer?I had a simple job but paid an exorbitant price. I'm so upset with myself. Two closet cabinets built and installed that had soft close features. Only one drawer out of the eight soft closes and they were left just sitting in the closet, not attached to the wall. On top of that, my floor was scratched, even though I laid out a protective cloth over it.I've been trying to reach someone but to no avail. If I could leave zero stars that's what I would do. 1 is NOT low enough. Please look past this company for your assembly needs. Not worth it to say the least.

Joseph V. came out to help hook up a new oven. He came with a new trainee as well. Both were fantastic. They were able to quickly get the job done and then spent the rest of the 2 hours helping me with other odds and ends around the house I didn’t even know I needed. They explained what they were doing / taught me maintenance information to keep things up to date. I could not have had a better experience or recommend the service more highly. 11/10 service, expertise and execution. Truly fantastic.

I was so hopeful to find a consistent, reliable handyman company, however working with this company was a terrible experience. Half of the jobs they completed in my home were done poorly, they damaged my wood floor, and the kickplate I asked the technician to attach on my dishwasher went missing entirely. The customer service rep was less than helpful and stated that we are “at an impass” on the missing part for my dishwasher. I spent over $750 for poor quality work and rude customer service.

Hired them to exchange (2) bath exhaust fans.Horrible finish product & the handyman Crosswired, the electrical wires on one of the exhaust fans and shorted out my Lutron smart switch & hub .I asked there representative to hold off on charging my credit card , until my license Electrician comes out to replace Lutron Caseta switch and hub. Well Nail it went on charged my card in full immediately as soon as I told them to kindly hold off for a few days.

Nailed it! Communication is top notch, quick response to my initial inquiry, work scheduled for the very next day. My handyman was Joe, who did a great job fixing a closet door that wouldn't close, securing loose handrails, unclogging a sink, changing out a dishwasher part, and doing some electrical work. 🙂 Weather conditions did not allow for the outdoor work to be done, so the following week, my handyman was Winston, who also did a great job scraping & painting my shed, and repairing my front steps. 🙂

When looking for a basketball hoop installer, I googled and found “Nail It Handyman” as specialized in Basketball hoop installation. Their specialization is what I wanted knowing the installer would set up quickly and efficiently. I proceeded to give them a try. I explained that my old hoop, which was in ground, fell during a windstorm and that I took the old hoop apart and jack hammered the old base and left a hole to make the job for the installer easier. Ben the sales rep and I discussed numbers and the estimate seemed somewhat fair. We both figured it would be a 3-4 hour job tops! Little did I know when the tech arrived to start the project, the first 30 minutes he just looked over everything and then said he had to run to Home Depot for cement. One hour and 30 minutes later he returned. Yet the tech did not come prepared with equipment to mix the cement. This blew my mind! So I questioned the tech that if he knew the job was to install an in-ground basketball post why would he not bring cement and equipment with him. He told me that he wouldn’t charge for that time and start now, so I was like ok. Then 3 hours later, only 6 bags of cement were mixed and poured in the hole. He had to run back and forth to Home Depot to get cement. So specialization in hoop installment, arriving unprepared without cement and equipment and charging for time to assess the job inaccurately because the number of trips to home depot shouldn’t of occurred? I reached out to the manager (Lauren) and I was told that I was billed for 4 hours and owed $605.97. Stunned, I said it was only 3 hours and she claimed he started at 12:26pm and that him going to Home Depot twice for cement, which he didn’t bring to the job in the first place, was on me. I stated my case to Lauren and asked for her Manager and she stated she was the top and this is how they run their business and that’s that! So all in all it took 4 hours to mix and pour 6 bags of cement and charged $605.97 for something that should have been less than 1 hour. I never got the hoop installed, but got charged about $100 per bag of cement for 4 hours. A bag of cement is $7. I also had to guide the tech to not mix cement over my driveway but instead to do it on the grass. I also found nails on my driveway which would have caused another headache. The name is fitting as they definitely “Nail It” to you in so many ways. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. The manager Lauren needs to understand the meaning of Customer Service and Customer Care. Lauren was extremely rude and just didn’t care what I said. I will never use their company again. What a rip off!

Joe V showed up on time listened and understood what I needed done. I had requested a wooden base upon which the play house would stand and after a visit to my local Home Depot Joe professionally created the wood platform and proceeded to assemble the Playhouse. He was very diligent and cleaned up after the project. Joe made my Granddaughter very happy, she loved her new Playhouse. Thanks Joe ! 🤝 and thank you Nail It Handyman

SCAM SCAM SCAM! Beware of this company and any other company that doesn’t give you a quote and a contract in advance of starting the job and charge you NOT based on job completion (which they DO NOT guarantee) but based on a day’s worth of work. That means that they’ll prolong the job, and a job that could take 6 hours, will end up taking 30 hours across multiple days. We hired them to change just some wood pieces from our deck and then paint it, and it took them 4 days, 2 workers, and a total of $5 THOUSAND DOLLARS spent, for us to not even have a deck finished. We had to hire another handyman to finish their job. Also, we saw through the came that only 1 of the guys was working while the other was just hanging around! SCAM SCAM SCAM! CROOKS! UNTRUSTWORTHY! DISHONEST. Yanky (Jacob) Guttman, if you’re still the owner, you should consider changing your business model.

Please be careful out there guys! Sales reps are motivated to sell you a discounted job. They will tell you that the job will get done in full and send one inexperienced employees. Don’t fall for the “discount” they sell you - this place is such a scam they have to do this or they will never profit. Use a CC so you’re protected. I recommend looking at past reviews to make an informed decision. You get what you pay for! Take your time a vet out an experienced professional if you want quality work. If you need someone to build grandma a birdhouse, they “might” be able to handle it.

They did a great job. Starting with the fact that it took less than 12 hours to schedule the service call. They had clear and concise communication. The technicians arrived on-time and were able to complete the project in the estimated time. It was also beneficial that the techs could go to Home Depot and pick up the additional supplies needed for the project.

I can’t express how great Kenny was. We had a giant couch that couldn’t fit into our new place and was left wrapped and waiting outside by our not great movers. Not only did he take it apart to get it inside, he did it in the rain. He then coached us helping him get everything inside. While all that was great it was his customer service that blew me away. Beyond kind and very courteous. As a customer service professional I personally believe he went above and beyond! If you get a chance to request someone, I’d be requesting Kenny to every time.

Hired nail it handyman to disassemble move and reassemble a treadmill that was in a basement. The very nice handyman came out and started his work and then he realized it had to be carried up stairs as his work order said. He told me to call his office and advise and I had the terrible experience talking to the woman that takes care of the dispatching and she told me I didn't hire them to move it from the basement even though the work order was very clear that that is where the treadmill was. She argued with me and her solution to the problem was if the handyman couldn't do the move they would send two men the next day at a cost of 399 each man for 2 hours. I would not agree with that and we actually had to assist the handyman carrying it out of the cellar. a couple plastic things got broke carrying it out. The job was finished at my home and then the secretary tried to over charge me for the job. I was a new customer and was given 100 dollar discount making the job 299 plus taxes. She only was giving me a 75.00 discount but I made sure she fixed it to the agreed upon 100 dollar discount. There was a few leftover screws but everything works so I will figure out where they belong. I would never use this company again not because of bad work but the office secretary is so very rude and thinks she is GOD and she told me she doesn't answer to anyone when you ask for her supervisor. Gave the very nice handyman decent tip and the problems where not because of him. It's to bad the office is run by this woman!!!!!!

Nail it don't do business with this company they charged by units hourly but they come and work very slow stop and reading instructions I though I was dealing with a professional someone who does this daily but if so this is all he did in 3 hour I didn't get my double discount or the opportunity to pay for it with cash or zelle

I was able to get an appointment as soon as first thing in the morning. Bryan was extremely professional, very skilled and provided me some extra tips to extend the life of my new microwave. Very quick and efficient. I wish I had more time to prepare for his visit, as I had some other tasks that I’m sure he could’ve completed for me during the time allotted. Next time! Very positive experience and will definitely use again.

I regret having ever contacted Nail-it. What a mess of people. Extremely poor workmanship in installing IKEA cabinets. They did not follow instructions and the company believed their lies. The workmen even said that I had opened the cartons before they arrived, which was untrue. They can't be trusted. Don't use them. The job was never completed. Paid them over $1,700.00.

Nail It came to put a playset together and did a great job while here. They were professional and stayed the whole 8 hours. They organized the boxes that the playset was in before they left and cleaned up. They worked extremely hard and barely took breaks during a hot humid day. I would definitely hire again!

Not going to lie, they did quality work (replacing boards on my deck and painting it). But ultimately we are hiring someone else to finish the job because they are making the project cost at least 2x what it should. Lesson learned: never hire hourly; hire for a project done. After the first day, they said they needed to come back the second day to finish. Fine. After the second day, they said they needed to come back a third day to finish. At that point, I was upset, but, fine, just finish it. At the end of the third day, THEY SAID THEY NEEDED TO COME BACK A FOURTH DAY TO FINISH. At that point, I said no. Absolutely not. Tomorrow I will hire someone else to finish painting my deck. And, in total, we were charged for them being at Home Depot for 8 hours -- a full day of work. That's $1,000 just for them to pick up supplies at Home Depot. Absolutely unacceptable.Update: now that I have actual professionals finishing the job, it's clear that the quality of work was not good. They didn't sand the wood before painting it so some of the railings (which didn't even need to be replaced in the first place) were so rough that you would actually cut your hand up if you put your hand on it.

I reached out to Nail IT for help with replacing / repairing my exterior doors. I was assigned Danny J who replaced my front door entirely and fixed the side door so it could lock securely again. This is an older house so both repairs seemed to required a little extra finesse but Danny took care of everything and kept me informed throughout the process, I also learned a thing or two about the house.I'm very pleased with the quality of work and attention to detail. I would be happy with work with them again.Thank you!

The person assigned to my job was Dion. Dion was very polite and well spoken. He tried to help me the best he could. He was not given enough info about the job and I was told that we could get the materials day of install since Home Depot carry’s these items. When Dion went to go grab the materials they were not available are are special order. I was still charged the full fee for the work that has yet to be done. I also had to figure out what I needed for the job. This is no fault of Deon. He did everything he could to help but it was out of his control. Deon gets 5 stars for his customer service and help, However I am Not sure if I would recommend Nail It to anyone else. Getting me scheduled was rushed and I was given Mis information. I still have to use them as they wouldn’t let me cancel now and I got a credit for the time not used. Hoping I can get the materials and when Deon comes back he is able to install without issue this time. Deon remains professional and was a great help with trying to help and get the job done. He went to multiple stores and had Home Depot call around to see if anything was available
