Shout out to Hammond Roofing. Never worked with them before but will definitely be returning as a customer. We had a strip of shingles blow off our roof from strong winds. Matt came out the next day to give us a quote. Said it was an easy fix and just replaced the shingles right there on the spot. At no charge! Said they were already in the area and it was really no big deal. I would have happily paid for their prompt and professional service but all they asked for was a kind review. Hammond is the best. And local Marlton business :). Would work with again.

I never leave reviews however I wanted to say if you are considering a new roof or repairs, that you should absolutely use Hammond Roofing. They installed a new roof about a year ago and did a tremendous job. Recently a few shingles came off in some very high wind and rain so I reached out to inquire about a repair and the crew was out within a day to replace the missing shingles. Shout out to Katy for handling so quickly. They are a professional, friendly and easy company to work with. Go with Hammond Roofing.

I had a great experience with Richard Hammond Roofing. Matthew was my point of contact, and he was very responsive and helpful throughout the entire process from quote to installation.I received a quote the same day Matthew looked at my home, and he scoped everything out as I requested for both a new roof and siding. I had follow-up questions and we were able to work through everything quickly.On the day of installation everyone arrived on time. Matt is very professional and did a thorough job of inspecting the existing roof and providing a detailed report of our wind damage. He followed up with a comprehensive estimate to replace the roof and provided us with some options (that other roofers did not). Matt answered all of our questions, and provided references, and Hammond’s insurance and license information. When I compared Hammond Roofing to four other companies that came out to our home to provide an estimate, Hammond’s was not the cheapest and not the most expensive, but it was the “most comprehensive” so we knew exactly what we we’re getting. Their estimate explained the work that was going to be performed, including the materials that were going to be used, while some of our other roofers estimates did not. One of the things that stood out most in making our decision was on the day that Hammond Roofing came out to meet with us. Matt set up his ladder, climbed up on the roof, thoroughly inspected the roof, took pictures, discussed what he saw, and provided a detailed report of our roof issues. One roofer that came to our house did not even bother to climb up on our roof and conduct an inspection, yet he was giving us an estimate to replace our roof site unseen. Another roofer told us our roof looked fine, however he was giving us an estimate for a new roof (why?). These were definite red flags to us. The bottom line is my husband had gone up on the roof, and we had shingles come off, and we saw the detailed pictures and report of our wind damage and things that were brought to our attention by Hammond. We know we made the right decision in choosing Hammond and our new roof looks great. The bottom line is…do your due diligence, obtain several estimates, research each companys’ experience, their background and credentials, get references and ask questions.

Update: The owner was very attentive and immediately resolved all my concerns.We had the flashing around a cupolas on our roof repaired. Matt came out in person to provide us an estimate and to discuss the project. The project require ripping off some stucco 12” up the cupola siding to run the roof up the decking/wood base of the wall so that the stucco company could come back and overlap of their weather proofing, wire mesh and stucco. When the guys came out they only cut out about 6-8” up and ran the roof material up as requested. However, they used that black roofing cement to flash. This caused an issue because that stuff is very messy and does not have the best finish or longevity. When the stucco company came out, they didn’t have a clean edge to overlap their weather proofing so they had to remove the black roofing cement which was a very messy project. Eventually, I had to call the roofing company back and they came out to cut up another 4” of the stucco and ran the roof material up higher. This time around, they did not use the roofing cement and in turn the stucco guys were able to layer their weather proofing and overlap their stucco giving us a nice clean look. My problem was that although the job was eventually done correctly, it was also something we had originally discussed from the beginning. Not only did they have to come back out but they charged me another $3k to come back and fix it. I feel that if the roofing company had they done their job correct the first time and ran the roof up the 12” as discussed and leaving it nice and clean we would have never run into this issue. It was also very frustrating because I originally had this discussion with the project coordinator, Matt, in person and took videos and photos for our home renovation blog. I also coordinated the project with the roofing company and the stucco company to come up with a solution and I consistently made sure we were all on the same page via text. All in all the guys eventually did do a great job. I just wish we could’ve gotten it done right the first time as discussed so that I wouldn’t have been out another $3k. At one point the roofing company also told me they would give me a roll of the roofing material so that I could do it myself if I wanted. At this point I could have just put out an additional $5k and had the entire roof and flashing done properly as I had originally done with another company on the top tier of the roof. I’m not one to argue with them but I wish they would have taken some responsibility with fixing this issue. We will be discussing our full experience with Hammond on our blog for NJ Homes and will be post a video on YouTube with the videos and photos for Design NJ magazine for the entire process of this home remodel.

Each time I call, I have had a roofer at my door same day or the next morning. Whether it is because of a problem or maintenance, Richard Hammond Roofing does excellent work! They are reasonably priced, and I am treated with kindness, respect and honesty. I highly recommend Richard Hammond Roofing. We needed a new roof and interviewed 5 contractors for the job. Richard Hammond was the very first contractor we talked to and he set a very high bar for everyone that came after him. You will never find a more honest, responsive, reliable contractor/owner than Richard Hammond. When he came for the initial estimate, he spent a good deal of time explaining what was needed, the procedure his crew would use on our roof and the material he would employ. His price was very reasonable, and he was very flexible and accommodating in scheduling the job. His crew was amazing in the demo of the existing roof and the installation of the new roof. They were very efficient, personable, and conscientious. The entire job was completed in half a day. The grounds around the house were so clean when they left that there was no evidence that a roof had been installed. There were no shingles, nails or other debris of any type left behind. If you need any roof work done, you need to call Richard Hammond!

Our old roof had two layers so we needed a roof replacement. They were very professional and did a great job. They use GAF Timberline HD® Lifetime High Definition® Shingles that have StainGuard® Protection and withstand 130 mph wind. Our yard was cleaner after they left than before they arrived. We have a pool in our backyard and a dog, after the job was complete they went over our entire yard with a large magnet to ensure there were no nails left. Our house looks beautiful again. I am so grateful that I found this company. I have my home and my mothers home in the port Richmond fishtown area of the city. So my father passed away and the house really needed a total new roof in order for my elderly mother to stay there. After contacting a bunch of well known roofing company's and not getting appointments, or no shows and a few totally blew me off, I finally came across Richard Hammond's name. What a blessing! He not only gave me a new rubber roof for my home but he totally had to rebuild my mothers. The price was very fair. His crew showed up on time and cleaned up after themselves. They were polite and respectful of moms schedule. I have not had a problem with either of our roofs since then. They also contact me for maintenance and hot coats when life gets too busy for me to remember just so my warranties don't expire.. Love these guys. I had to replace my roof and I knew it would be very expensive especially with this economy. I got a quote from Hammond and it was very competitive. I was quite impressed with the work. Chris was there through the whole thing and made sure everything was perfect! In fact when it was finished, Chris noticed a part that was not correct and had the installers fix it. Hammond Roofing replaced my, and my neighbor’s roofs this week and did a great job. Chris, the project supervisor, arrived as scheduled at 7am and explained the work they’d be doing to complete the job, and how they would protect my house from any damage from the debris. Chris made himself available throughout the day and was very responsive to any questions or concerns. The crew then began their work and kept going, taking only a lunch break before completing the job early in the afternoon. When they were finished with the roofs, they cleaned up every bit of dirt and debris, and used a magnet to collect stray nails from around the houses and on the attached decks. They left it cleaner than it was before they arrived, and left no trace that they’d been here (except the new, beautiful roofs). Every member of the crew I spoke with was very courteous and professional, and they worked diligently to get the job done. Not once did I see anyone just hanging around doing nothing.I highly recommend calling Rich Hammond Roofing if you’re in the market for a new roof.

Hammond Roofing just finished installing new shingle and flat roofs on my mother's old (built in the 1800's) house. They did a beautiful job, and it only took them 1 1/2 days. This company uses an answering service, so your call is always answered, and then responded to within hours. I talked to Matt Hammond and he came out the next day to inspect the roofs. I received a very professional and fair priced estimate the day after, which I signed and returned the same day (Thursday). After that, Richie called me to schedule the job, and he managed the whole job through to completion. Richard Hammond and his team are EXCELLENT at what they do. He impressed me from the start with a call back first thing in the morning, as I called him on the later side one evening. He stopped over my house for an estimate within 5 minutes of calling me. We called him back within one week to let him know he's our guy. Rhonda - I had my roof replaced in November 2017 by Mr. Hammond and Team. He came out to my home checked and rechecked all of my request for the roofing job and gave me fair pricing and the date he would be available to start, which was a week later. When Mr. Hammond showed up on the date promised to complete the roofing job he brought a team of the most knowledgeable. dedicated, experienced worker's I have ever seen on a private home project. I had a complete top rubber roof installed, two small rubber roofs, all the drain systems replaced/upgraded. Mr. Hammond pointed out that my drains needed upgrading which I accepted because I was not aware that they were overdue for the upgrade. I had all of my shingles removed/replaced. Mr. Hammond took pictures of my new roof/shingles replacement and sent them to me as proof the job was completed as requested by me. The other replacements I could see as I took a walk around my home. There was absolutely no cleanup to be done by me. Mr. Hammond and team left my home surroundings cleaner than a janitor would have left it! Mr. Hammond is the first contractor that I have employed to complete home repairs who worked with me without discrepancies and bad attitudes He and his team are the type of roofing contractors the U.S. need. Especially, when jobs of this nature is not completed on a yearly basis. I would recommend him to the White House!

I had a great experience with this company! Richard came out to my house the other day since I had a leak in my skylight. He was very professional and very nice and knew his stuff. He went on my roof and saw the problem right away. He knew there was a storm coming and helped me out that day. He was very reasonable, reliable and kind. He even followed up the next day to make sure what he did worked and it did! I called other roofers before him and they just want to sell you a full roof. They were just salespeople. Some big names would not even get on the roof and gave me a high price. Which is crazy and just about the money. If you want a reliable, honest, professional company that knows what they are doing this is the company to use. I would use them again and I highly recommend them!!
