WP Home Renovations and Remodeling made our previously unfinished basement into a beautiful and functional space that our kids are already enjoying.We were very impressed with the owner throughout the entire process, starting with the first meeting. They came in not only as the most competitive quote but also with ideas for how best to utilize our space.The crew arrived on time at 8:30 am and stayed past 5 pm every day. They worked hard to finish the project in less than two weeks and on budget. Wow! Having worked with other contractors and come away disappointed with poor workmanship and long timelines, WP really surprised us in their high quality and fast time-to-completion.We will absolutely use this company again and recommend them highly for basement finishing. First day, Monday morning, Werlin (the owner) showed up an hour late. We should have known that was the first bad sign. We had a bathroom that we had fully demoed, it just needed to be built back up. We were planning on doing it ourselves but Werlin said he would get it done in 4-5 days so it felt like a no brainer. We already had all the basic materials (toilet, tub, vanity, faucets, tile, grout, fan) purchased. Werlin gave us a list of other materials (mortar, hardie boards, ect) to buy, and we had all those the next day. At the end of day 5, the bathroom is not any where close to finished and there was no communication. We call Werlin and he says he is sick but his team will get back to work on Monday and they will have the job finished by Thursday. Okay. Thursday rolls around and the bathroom still isn’t finished and once again, no communication. We reach out to see whats going on. Werlin responds saying he feels like we are rushing him and he will get the job done by Friday. Friday, bathroom is still not done and no communication. We call and he says someone from his team fell off a ladder and they now can’t finish until Monday. Monday, he says it will be done by Tuesday. Tuesday, still isn’t done. The frustrating part was Werlin did not communicate with us. We had to reach out and then he would make it seem as if we’re bothering him. But his employees would come work for 2 hours and then not show up for 3 days so we had no idea what was going on. Finally the bathroom gets finished Wednesday. (This is 2 weeks later) but “finished” means the toilet is wobbly, the shower handle is installed incorrectly so there is no hot water. Faucet is crooked. Our new bathtub, vanity and toilet are all scratched up. Tile is scratched. Paint drips are on the bathroom walls and other parts of the walls are not even painted. Our freshly painted doors and walls in the hallway are destroyed. Our new wood flooring in the hallway has stains all over it. No transition pieces are installed in the doorway, even though they were purchased. When I showed all this to Werlin he got defensive and manipulated the situation instead of taking any ownership and fixing the issues. He argued with me and said I was “disrespectful” because one time I asked his employees to please be quieter while my baby was sleeping. (They were yelling loudly while on speakerphone for hours) His employees ate all our leftovers in the fridge, used speakers, and used (and damaged) tools without permission. They did not respect that fact that this was our home. The tile was also left dirty and sawdust was everywhere. Werlin said that is how he leaves all his job sites and that the client cleans. We gave him all brand new materials, but we are expected to clean up the mess his employees made? Not to mention since the tile was never cleaned, that means it was never sealed. We even gave Werlin another chance to fix this situation by texting him after the last altercation, but he never responded. We would never recommend WP Home Renovations and Remodeling. These guys helped me out in a very tight spot. Had an unusual leak in the bathroom due to the previous work being poorly installed. They replaced our tub and shower, fixed the wall, and where other contractors said they couldnt, they kept our original window frame intact and in good condition. They also installed this beautiful tile. Our bathroom now looks better than ever. Having an open and direct line of communication was invaluable for me as I am an out of state investor. Werlin would send me pictures and even FaceTimed me twice while finishing the project to ensure that I knew what was going on every step of the way. This relieved all of the stress I felt about not being there myself.I recommend calling Werlin as he is a true professional that cares about his customers and his work. Attached are some of the photos taken of the work he and his crew performed so that you can see the level of quality work you can expect if you hire him. The projects that were completed were: Drywall repair, refinished painting the entire house, sanding of all hardwood floors and coating with polyurethane, repair of bathroom plumbing which included shower valve, as well install brand new shower tub surround.The final bill for all of the work performed matched the original quote too. This is a huge part of your decision making process as lots of contractors will tell you "We won't know how much it will cost until we open up the wall..." I was referred by a friend. I’m definitely pleased with the outcome. I had a leak from my upstairs toilet down into my kitchen ceiling. WP Home Renovation & remodeling company repaired my toilet and the drywall in the kitchen. Staff was very clean and tidy. They made sure they cleaned up behind themselves, and were kind. My kitchen faucet was dripping water, and I had purchased a replacement, but had not had it replaced. Owner Werlin had his staff replace it as a courtesy! This company definitely gets a 5 stars from me, and I will definitely refer them to family and friends, and will be contacting them with any other needs! We started off with a totally unfinished space but now have a 3 room area with a bathroom (complete with dog bath) and an adorable closed off area for our cats underneath the stairs.The crew clearly worked very hard and diligently and I was surprised by how fast they got the work done. We had what I consider a pretty big job, 3 roof tear off and replace, work done on exterior of fireplace,and all new gutters, we also had a brick walkway we had put in years ago, they removed all the bricks, and literally rebuilt with fresh underlayment, leveling and the sidewalk looks seriously, better than the day we originally put it in. We had trex railings put in where the wooden ones got destroyed by weather over the years on our front steps. Then we moved inside, ripped out old carpets, installed new hardwood floors and mouldings, painted all the same walls, we had a brick surround on our gas fireplace that looked like it needed some tlc...we had that done with a matte black paint, that they actually recommended, and it looks stunning. With the new hardwood, nice creamy colored walls, sharp white trim the fireplace looks like it's a brand new install. Love it!! And they removed all the decking off of one of our decks. That was the job. The work was done professionally, they worked with us throughout the job to make sure everythg was done the way we wanted. The turn around time of the job was beyond amazing. Not sure how else to say that..what we estimated would probably be 2-3 weeks. Wasn't even close. 5 days total (4.5 actually). They even helped us with a few things we couldn't move, and attached a piece of fencing we were going to need to do at some point ourselves....and everything was left like no one had been there....it was spotless!!I would recommend WP Home Renovations to anyone. Inside or outside work. Nothing to big or small they can't do!! Impressed is honestly the truth.. We were so stressed out at what a big job this was...and there was never a need to be. With the right team of people, it should feel just like it does right now. We are just very happy and blessed! Had we know of WP Home Renovations sooner (or COVID hadn't lasted so long) we'd of done this sooner. It's like walking into a new home !!! Give them a call you, you won't regret it!!! It's one business card I'm hanging on to!!!
