Three weeks after I bought this tree it died. I had to take down my tree on December 23 and when I asked for my money back, I was told there was no way of knowing if I had bought it there... if I had watered it.... like I have time to make some evil plan to rook a local business out of $60. I've got a complaint filed with the BBB. DON'T TRUST THEM WITH YOUR MONEY! THERE ARE TONS OF OTHER PLACES TO SHOP!

Purchased 12 trees after long deliberations with my wife about our landscaping projects , 12 grean Giants reasonably priced joined the garden club and earned a quick $30 in store credit and was also given a free hose and rake. The staff was great

If I could give them a minus star I would! I have been a faithful year round customer for years. Two years ago I purchased $150.00 worth of Christmas decorations & a week later they were all on sale for 50% off! I was thrilled! In accordance with NY State law, I asked for my $75.00 refund to my card & it was refused. I got no refund at all. They have no compunction in violating state law & screwing their customers. I will never shop there again & am telling EVERYONE I can!

I recently dealt with the E Greenbush store for a specific item and one of the staff, Lindsey, went more than the extra mile in getting me to the right place.Another nice experience and customer service well appreciated.

I purchased 7 plastic window boxes about 2 weeks ago and paid 8.99 for each one. Today, however, I found out that I needed two more. When I went to get them, the same window boxes have been repriced to 10.99 each! I spoke to the manger and got nowhere. I won't be going back.

The service was extremely fast...which is a great thing around this time of year!! The gentleman that helped me was very courteous...even for the strange request I made.( I like to keep the stumps of my trees because I do something special with them every year). He not only cut the stump and remembered to give it to me but he also cut my dead branches,loaded it on the car and tied it all up. My tree is the perfect size and its needles are not falling off everywhere....I may never buy a walmart tree again. Thanks Hewitts for being very helpful and fast! Definitely recommend!!!

Went to buy a bush and a tree. The tree had a price marked on a neighbor of the same size. At checkout a higher price came up. I questioned it, management gave me the lower price immediately. And went to fix the sign. Earning loyalty!

They have a very good price on a 6 pack of vegetable seedlings and on flowers. Only $1.99. However, you need to check to make sure that they are well watered and that there are six live plants per six pack. Inside the store is very, very hot. They need a bid fan blowing for the comfort of both the customers and employees.

I have multiple experiences with Hewitt's. Their prices maybe a little higher than some of the retail places but the quality makes it worthwhile. At the East Greenbush location, there is almost always someone on hand who knows what they're talking about and can help you to rescue or to successfully start a plant. The short end of the long story... I am a cheapskate and I shop there several times a year. So you know they're worth the money.

I generally don’t hand out one stars but I felt after the altercation my dad and I had today, it was warranted. We bought two elephant ear bulbs and a bag of asparagus roots and the young lady at the counter said to us that If they don’t grow, we could return or exchange them. Sadly, they didn’t end up growing. First I called to inform them what happened and the guy on the phone sounded confuse informing me that their guarantee doesn’t cover any plants outside of nursery items. I explained what the young lady said and he said to come in with the items and they will honor what was said. We arrived and they chose not to honor what they said anyway.. it was unbelievable and absolutely ridiculous. The manger wouldn’t even speak to us despite everything we said that happened. Regardless, we will not be giving our business at any Hewitts due to this.

I went to get a Christmas tree and they happen to have plastic bags to discard the tree once it needs to get discarded. Neither Home Depot or Lowe's had any plastic bags. That made me get the tree and the plastic bag there. Thank you for your service.

Customer service is not their strong suit. Plants are nice, but they charged me incorrectly (twice in the same transaction) when their prices are clearly listed on every plant rack. I’ll stick with Becker’s instead.

I have purchased many plants here over the 20 years I live here. They have always had sucessful growth. I have attended classes here (free) that have been informative and increased my knowledge of plant care.The master garden is available on certain days to provide answers to questions.

I can't believe this place! My father in law was inside being helped by an employee, while this rude lady walks inside and proceeds to interrupt the employee and my father. My father explains how he was just asking a few quick questions and the employee proceeds to tell him to take his business elsewhere instead of helping him and starts helping the rude lady. What the hell!! He was clearly in the middle of a conversation with the employee and they were both so rude to him. Will never go here and will tell all friends and family how rude this place's employees and customers are! You should be ashamed of your customer service

Awful Experience, second year in a row a completely dead Christmas tree and huge mess to clean up (over two hours clean-up). Don't waste your valuable time or money. Went in with pictures and video and even called corporate and they offered up nothing!! I will take my business elsewhere. Beware next year when you go to buy your Christmas tree!!

The comment below is very rude! Hewitts should be proud of their customer service, all their employees are kind and welcoming! I've never had a problem with any employee and if any issue has come up, I'm sure it was not their fault. As that rude lady has so implied! My favorite worker is Jamie! She is so kind and funny, defiantly my favorite person. Come to Hewitts, it's great!

We go to this store often but today left me more than a little concerned. I heard one of the girls at the register informing another woman that she was a cleaner and a cashier so she refused to be the mask police. All this while people walked around INSIDE without masks. This gave me pause.

A garden store that as of lately doesn’t know anything about gardening. Have been a frequent customer for years and upon asking for Lyme which is the simplest of things, nobody even knew what that was. Staff didn’t know anything and Manager was even more not in the know. Store was a mess and what happen to the old staff since I was told they no longer were there??? The old staff knew stuff and the place was clean.

I have been a loyal customer of Hewitts garden center for 5 years now. I am a retired botanist who loves to garden for beauty & fresh produce.I confidently shop there year round:Hewitts is my primary resource for quality seeds & flowering bulbs, poinsettias, amyraryllis, paperwhites, and seasonal annuals, herbs, perrenials, roses and shrubs (and Audubon bird feeders).I have always found the quality of their plants and products to be very good and prices to be reasonable.I especially appreciate Hewitt's diverse selection of organic fertilizers and Espoma potting soils...while their local Garden Center competitors have turned to selling "Miracle Grow" soils, Hewitts has continued to offer their customers quality Espoma & Happy Frog soil products with worm castings.I find the regular Hewitts staff to be knowledgeable about their products, pleasant to talk to and encouraging to gardeners of all levels.I frequently bring my grandchildren to Hewitts to share the delight of planning a garden, selecting seeds to germinate in March, for Mothers day flowers ...they love filling our wagon with gardening fun with Gramma!Thank you Hewitts for the quality garden products you offer.Mrs. Robin Russo

I love my tree. Big and full, Icertainly worth the price. However it was not tied down correctly and we almost lost it on the way home.
