The NSA has been a great resource for our roofing company. The NSA manual provides a wealth of information regarding the quarrying and installation of natural slate. We’ve found the detail drawings to be useful on both historical and modern buildings. We would highly recommend joining the NSA if you're an architect, material supplier or contractor working on slate roofs.

Highly recommended for design considerations/details and also for installation practices. The website is massively helpful and even has a mobile field guide to help answer your questions on the fly. Tom Stortz has done an excellent job leading the association and continues to make strides to bring the slate industry into the spot light!

We have been a member of the NSA for many years. Recently attended their conference in Saratoga Springs, NY and we toured some local Vermont/NY quarries. Their Mobile Field Guide on their website is very helpful. The website also has a list of slate roofing contractors under the Member Directory. Great professional organization, worth joining!
