My husband and I first met Mike Emmert and Rob Aquilina of Golden Eye Construction in August of 2020. We were immediately impressed by their knowledge and their approach to home renovation. We had previously met with other contractors to discuss exterior renovation work, but had become completely exasperated by the open-ended quotes we were given for certain aspects of our project. Golden Eye Construction offered an approach that consisted of a complete assessment of the project followed by presentation of a fixed price for the complete plan. Mike and Rob first worked with us to complete product selection to create a fixed price and schedule of payments due upon completion of certain aspects of the plan. Work began once all product selections had been received to minimize delay in the completion of the project. Unfortunately, my husband lost his life to COVID before the project was scheduled to start. Mike and Rob were so compassionate in storing the products and waiting for me to choose when I was ready to move forward with the work. This first project consisted of demolition and removal of decking, siding, windows and roofing and the installation of replacement windows, doors, siding, and roofing, construction of a front porch extension, installation of new garage doors, exterior lighting, foundation and masonry work for the porch and front walkway and the creation of a rear masonry patio. The fixed price approach was ideal because there were never hidden surprises or added costs unless I chose to add or make additional changes to the plan. The quality of work provided and the integrity of the employees of Golden Eye as well as the subcontractors employed by Golden Eye was always exceptional. In fact, I was so pleased with the process and work product that I thereafter hired Golden Eye three more projects to complete additional renovations my husband and I had planned. This work consisted of the complete renovation and replacement of a full bathroom, a master bathroom and a very large kitchen. Each time, Mike and Rob worked with me on product selection, and the quality of work has always been exceptional. It was particularly comforting to me to be able to work with such competent and honest professionals who truly had my best interests at heart. It is without hesitation that I recommend Golden Eye Construction for any and all home renovation projects.

We hired Golden Eye to build an extension on our home from 1893. It was very important for us that work to blend seemlesly with our Victorian home. We decided to use Golden eye based on other restorations we had observed and loved in our area. Working with a fixed budget allowed us to have a workable payment schedule without any last minute surprises. The Golden Eye team showed up every day working long hours. We were living through the reno with three kids one of whom was a newborn. Their builders and subcontractors couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful. We could not have been more happy with the outcome of our project. They finished on time and the house looked beautiful. We had some very specific requests to keep the house looking Victorian but with some modern benefits. I highly recommend if you are looking for quality craftsmanship, a workable budget and the friendliest team around you hire Golden Eye.

The home renovation process is incredibly daunting and sometimes overwhelming when you are doing a large construction project for the first time. I cannot say enough about how amazing it was to work with Golden-Eye Construction from the time this was an idea in our heads until they handed us the keys. Their all-inclusive project management is second to none and allows you to help design a project from start to finish. With other construction companies we looked at, there was always the worry that we would go over budget if costs skyrocketed. With Golden-Eye, because they help design the project from the beginning, they ensured the project finished under budget. Additionally, Mike provides a consultative services to help guide customers on where the best place to spend and where the best places to save are in order to get the maximum value (both to live in, and for potential resale) for your money.From a quality standpoint, Golden-Eye sets itself apart. Every faucet, fixture, and finish is curated by Mike and his team who clearly have refined their product choices to be only ones they would put in their own homes. My wife and I have now been living in our newly renovated home for almost a year and have been reminded on a daily basis of the quality of the work. Their project managers (Rob, Matt & others) are all excellent! They are accessible, and open to feedback, and incredibly responsive to any issues as the project went on. Issues with construction will always arise, and our project was not without its challenges, but how Rob and the team dealt with them is what that made our experience top notch.Mike and his team also ensure that the project meets the necessary regulatory requirements, which in our town can be tricky, and he goes the extra mile to deal with any issues.Overall, we are now in our forever home thanks to Mike, Rob, and all the great people at Golden-Eye, who turned our dream into reality. This company clearly puts quality and value above all else in their process and the results speak for themselves. There are probably corners that could be cut, or cheaper ways to do things, but if you are looking for quality and resale value in your home, I'd look nowhere else other than Golden-Eye.

I have now used Golden Eye twice, once for my primary bathroom, and once for my children’s bathroom. All I can say is I wish to goodness I had used them years ago when I redid my kitchen! My kitchen experience was an absolute nightmare, so I was very hesitant to do any more renovations, but Golden Eye completely turned things around. They showed up every single day when they said they would. They did all the work in an incredibly timely manner. The project manager Rob was always at my house first thing in the morning to get the guys going, and always returned to check on the progress. He was also always available via text. Are they the least expensive company around, no. Is it worth every penny, yes.

When my husband and I downsized within Sea Cliff, we planned to do extensive renovations on our new house. After interviewing 3 contracting companies, we knew we would go with Golden Eye. Simply put, we chose Golden Eye because Mike Emmert, the owner, promised that our job would include a foreman and team assigned just to us, so we could expect workers to show up every day w/o question. He, himself, would be on site every day to discuss changes with our team and communicate with us immediately if needed. It's a rare event when one's expectations are exceeded in a home restoration project, but this was the extraordinary case! Rob and his crew (Will, Matt, and Alex) solved all sorts of previously unfixable problems, and did so in a calm, professional, and personable way. The project began as a challenging resizing of kitchen cabinets to fit new appliances, restoring kitchen pantries, and repair of a "unrepairable" window leak, but soon expanded into fixing everything on our wish list, as we observed the highly competent and trustworthy work. The additional work included repairing failing bookshelves, restoring leaky patio doors, and installation of a stove vent hood and bathroom exhaust fan. We had been told by other contractors that all of this work was impossible. Golden Eye is an invaluable resource for us, and we would hire them in a second for any future work.

Mike, the owner, is very personable and understood my goals and desires for my renovation project. The project team Rob, Alex, Jose, and Nick we awesome. Working together, having fun and doing quality work all at once. I would recommend this team to anyone looking at a major renovation. We lived in the house while it was going on - Alex and Nick built a temporary wall to keep the dust down in the other living space and allow us to go up and down the stairs without being in the construction zone.

Golden Eye completely transformed my unfinished basement into a fully functioning, gorgeous extra floor of my home! They pay incredible attention to detail, and I always felt like I could trust them to do the right thing for my project! Golden Eye has installed a new kitchen floor, constructed a pass- through between our kitchen and dining room, installed bedroom closets, and done repair work on the exterior of our house.All work was done neatly, quickly and professionally. Mike and his production manager Rob are the absolute definition of professionalism both in their work and their attention to customers. I had a small leak that turned into a major pipe removal and the Goldeneye crew was there for me immediately to find and fix the problem. They took total control but also kept me informed at every step both during and after. After interviewing many different construction companies it was clear that Golden Eye Construction was the right one for the job. From our first introduction, to choosing them for our project, and all the way through the entire project Golden Eye was meticulous, and the communication was on point. As we hoped we learned prior to beginning the project, because not every company or their work is what they seem to be, Golden Eye’s organizational aspect and work, or better yet craftsmanship, was simply outstanding. After having a nightmare of a bathroom renovation, I was hesitant about doing any more remodeling...until I found Golden-Eye. Our home is over a hundred years old so finding a team to handle such a task was a challenge. Upon meeting, Mike Emmert, I was immediately put at ease. His straightforward demeanor as to the costs, the timeline, materials, etc. came from a place of experience and knowledge and I knew I could trust him. On the day of demo, not a speck of dust was left behind. Throughout the renovation, I came to see Rob, Matt, John, and the rest of the team as friends. They even halted "noisy" projects while my baby slept. At one point during a particularly rainy day we noticed that water was coming into the attic. Although this had nothing to do with their job, Mike, had a roof repair man out within 15 minutes. Not only was everything was done to perfection and they stand behind their work but they finished a week ahead of schedule. I recommend them without hesitation to every single person I know and when it comes time to do more updates on this old house, I know who to call. Golden-Eye is top notch!
