We had the best experience with HPM Craftsmen. First, we had Brian helping us put our ideas together. He was always available to answer any questions about the project like the pricing or materials needed. Second, we had Nicky making sure the project got done around our schedule and she emailed us with any openings. Lastly, we had Cesar and his team, they are very professional and knowledgeable. They got the job done in no time. They cleaned up the area and it was just perfect. I would highly recommend HMP Craftsmen and we will use them again in the future.

We have used HPM Craftsmen for two major renovation projects -a fully remodeled kitchen (see before photo cabinets and two post-renovation photos) and a beautiful, fully renovated basement. Nicky Apap communicated with us every step of the way and Brian Mack is our go to guy whenever we have a project. He always has great tips and suggestions to make sure the project will go as planned. We have always been extremely pleased with the skilled craftsmen they have sent to our jobs. We used them a third time to remove some filler panels in the kitchen so we could have a larger refrigerator installed. We received another professional job from them today and our installer made sure the walls were all set for the new refrigerator getting delivered tomorrow. I DO NOT recommend this business. I hired HPM Craftsmen to redo a master bathroom that another contractor had started but most of the work needed to be redone. We got a quote from Brian, the estimator and after getting a few references we decided to hire them. A few days prior to the start of the project we met with the owner, Nicky and a lead carpenter.On the first day of the project, the lead carpenter came alone and waited in the morning for a helper that never came. That day he did the demo by himself.On day three they sent an apprentice to assist and unfortunately he accidentally drove a screw through the hot water pipe in the shower wall. They were able to fix that the same day but nonetheless it caused concern and stress.From that day forward the carpenter worked alone only getting help towards the end setting the toilet in place. The toilet was not sealed on the bottom and was left with a slight rock to it which I had to mention and they corrected it.The carpenter was timely and hardworking which we appreciated. But any changes or concerns in the project had to go through Nicky. Therefore, we ended up spending a lot of time going back and forth with her.Throughout this project we noticed things we weren’t pleased with and areas of concern. For instance, they put a sheet of GoBoard over an area of plywood on the sub floor that probably should’ve been replaced. We also had no idea that certain walls should be level or plumb so we kept the existing vanity wall and had them smooth and joint compound instead. They didn’t check our walls for this and I highly recommend it before having any work done.Lastly, when the project was completed and we used the shower for the first time we noticed the shower floor tiles had lippage, sharp pointy edges in certain areas and around the drain pitch. It was uncomfortable to walk on with bare feet. Upon inspection, Nicky agreed that the shower floor would need to be redone.She gave us the option to choose a smaller tile and a crew member could do the work or we could choose our own contractor. We decided to choose our own contractor at which point we needed to get estimates. As soon as I had two estimates she quickly asked for them and took an average of the two and sent a revised invoice. She did not take the 3rd estimate that was sent later that day into consideration. Also we were still going through the process of compiling the list of supplies needed to restore this floor. It was very stressful going through this and her only concern at this point was to be paid for the work they had done. Overall this was an unsatisfactory experience for us.

We had a wonderful experience with them. From the estimate to the final steps - the quality of the work is phenomenal!!! The owner - Nicky - came personally on the first and last day to make sure everything is going smoothly, addressing every little detail/request - not going to see this every day - we absolutely loved it! It was a pleasure to come home to pretty much new home just in few days! We have worked with the HPM team on a few projects over the last few years and have enjoyed every part of the process. Starting from the beginning with Nicky you will have incredible levels of communication but she goes above and beyond to really understand what you are trying to do, really helps walk you through the process and bring options to the table, and when surprises appear (as they always do in this kind of work) she can bring thoughtful and detailed options to the table that are in the spirit of what you are trying to do.In addition this level of thoughtfulness extends to everybody on the team. I have never had a single person from HPM just show up and start working, they always want to make sure before they do anything that they understand the nuances of what you want, and are always open to adjusting the plan on the fly if you need or want to. They do great work and are very detail oriented, I never feel like I need to hover or micromanage them, if something is unclear or there are different ways something could be done, they will always stop and ask instead of making random choices as many contractors will do.Beyond doing great work, they are good people, and you can trust them which is everything for somebody working on your home.

When HPM Craftsmen was recommended for our roof repair we booked them right away. It’s not often you find a vendor that you can trust. The HPM back-office staff explained the services in detail before booking and followed up until the day of service. Fantastic experience! I am very impressed by the services from HPM Craftsmen. They have installed 4 6x6 posts to put a very large shade over my my pool and we needed the posts to be installed on a very specific location given the shape of the pool and position of the sun. Nicky, the owner, has been incredibly patient and professional. She has guided us along the way to produce the best outcome for our project. The staff that came in to perform the job was amazing. I do not recommend this company. We hired HPM Craftsmen to redo two of our bathrooms, and they allowed a 20 year old to come in unsupervised to demo our first bathroom on the second day. He was not trained properly and despite them knowing our home is a Victorian with original antique floorboards, he took NO precautions in protecting the rest of the home from dust and it spread literally everywhere all over our home, including in our bedroom and guinea pig room. He put absolutely no coverings on the floors, no fan or filter, basic plastic in doorways to prevent dust spread, literally nothing. He then left the mess to "get a vacuum" (while also leaving the door wide open that we repeatedly asked to have closed to prevent dust from spreading) and only when we both extensively complained did Nikki take it seriously and offered to have cleaners come by. Nicki (who is the manager and co-owner) is insanely fake (as another reviewer also stated) and two faced, had cleaners in who were unable to get all of the dust in the moldings/between banisters, between the floorboards, on the walls, our antique furniture, because there was so much dust/dust like this is so pervasive. I believe the cleaners did the best they could but could only do so much in 5 hours given how intense the mess was.Nicki was okay with being very entitled taking time from our work week and decided to "respectfully back out of the project" after we asked to not be contacted on the weekend after the debacle. 3 months of prep work down the drain. This experience was anything but professional on their end, we tried to give them a second chance and Nicki really made that impossible with her extremely unprofessional and unaccountable behavior. They also had three people within a few hours write reviews after we left ours, one of them looks fake as they've only left 1 review. So embarrassing and only further proving what I've said. Nothing I’ve said is malicious or untrue, just sharing the events that occurred and wanting to warn those of this company so they do not have to experience what we unfortunately did..Service: Bathroom remodeling

My husband and I enthusiastically recommend HPM to anyone looking for good craftsmanship at reasonable prices. Over the years, they have performed many jobs for us that my husband (a master carpenter) could not perform alone. These jobs included framing for a front porch and mudroom extension, installation of Hardie plank, and installation of a metal roof. Most recently, HPM remodeled our deck with Trex which gave it a tremendous facelight. The work is beautiful and we could not be more pleased. Additionally, all of the employees are friendly, courteous, responsive, and sensitive to the many needs of their clients, which are rare traits (unfortunately) in the construction industry.Service: Deck remodeling

HPM helped me renovate my two bathrooms and as they were one of the most diligent and communicative teams I’ve worked with in the last 9 years as a designer. They send daily progress reports which just goes to show their transparency. Our lead craftsmen went above and beyond to address all of ocd requests with tile layouts.If you have any reservations from one of the previous reviewers commenting dust being pervasive, yes the dust does inevitably travel but our team did do their best to mitigate the dust with a plastic partition wall, an exhaust fan, and regular vacuuming. I found out about HPM craftsmen through my architect who had just finished a project with her. I have nothing but good things to say about this company. They recently gave me a brand new deck with trex and pressure treated railings. They were on time, very professional and included me in the decisions every step of the way. Once my old deck was off, I had a lot of rotten wood and Brian made sure I was taken care of and everything was fixed. I also had my floors replaced and they did wonderful.
