This is the second time I have used Elkin Tree Service and I wouldn’t think about using another company. I value experience, timeliness and doing what is committed. He provided insurance which is very important when contracting for tree work. They took down 20+ trees for our construction project including a few that were a bit technical. All done safely. Kevin wasn’t the cheapest but he is the best and you get what you pay for. I’d highly recommend Elkin Tree Service.

Kevin and his men were here today to trim and remove several large pine branches that were threatening to touch our cabin roof. We have been trusting Kevin with our tree trimming and tree pruning for over 10 years. He and his men are always courteous, his prices are competitive, and the ground under the trees that have been trimmed or cut is always left cleaner than before the trimming. In the past he has even removed some really large birch and pine trees that were difficult to access, always in a very professional manner. TL;DR I highly recommend Elkin Tree Service.I had a large rotted birch too close to the house that Kevin and his team removed. It wasn't an easy tree to get to and was limb heavy towards the house, but they got it down safely at a competitive price.Kevin is professional, responsive, and friendly. He came out on a Saturday morning to spend an hour with me walking around the property talking about trees, for free. We found a number of trees that rank from "should be removed eventually" to "get this down ASAP". He's very knowledgeable and explained the issues he saw with each tree. I recently had Kevin and his team remove several large trees and it was a pleasure working with him. He helped me to remove a 16” Balsam that was 90% rotted on the inside, leaning toward the power line that attaches to our house, and 60+ feet tall. Kevin helped me coordinate with NGRID to have the power disconnected from the pole and rolled to the house so Kevin could safely take the tree down. NGRID then reconnected the wire and this entire process took about an hour. When I first told Kevin the date/time of the NGRID appointment he immediately said “we’ll be there”. Kevin and his team arrived at the same time as the NGRID team and he coordinated closely with the onsite NGRID team.There were several other larger trees that Kevin took down, safely and effectively and then he cleaned up all the logs and branches. This was the first time that I worked with Kevin and what I learned was 1) He knows what he is doing and has the equipment to help him get the job done. 2) He doesn’t take any unnecessary risks and plans each tree drop. 3) He arrives when he says he will and he and his team work hard to get the work done. He does what he says he will do. 4) He communicates well and worked with me to save a couple of good trees that we in the way but I wanted to save. I think this made his job a little harder but he was able to accommodate my wish safely. 5) He is very concerned with the safety of my home, my family, and the surrounding woods and other trees. 6) His cleanup of all the tree debris is exceptional. Much of it was chipped and the rest hauled away. He also cut a number of logs to size so I could burn them in the future.I definitely chose the right person to take down these hazardous trees that could have done significant damage to our home and family. His help coordinating with the NGRID team was exceptional. I will have Kevin and his team back every couple of years to assess what needs to be done and to then take care of the issues.
