I called this company after Appolo tried scamming me. The owner went out, fixed the furnace and verified it was safe and in good shape, just needed a sensor cleaned. Very honest and professional.

First impressions, the people that answer the phone during the day are great. Very nice and professional.We scheduled to have a yearly furnace maintenance appointment. We asked to have a few other things done during the appointment, but the technician said he was unaware of that when he arrived and didn't have time scheduled for that. I can chop that up to a communication error. The important thing was the cleaning before the heat went on for the season.However, our pipe ended up breaking two weeks later (NO fault of affordable, just old pipes)I was disappointed to be shown the parts of the furnace that were rotted out, and having issues from another company. Knowing that this was all just cleaned and never mentioned to us at all was concerning.We did try to call Affordable when the pipe broke for their emergency assistance, but it was 9pm and we did not get a call back until the next day when they let us know they were booked solid and unable to get us in. Everyone is booked, it is that time of year. This is the only reason we called around for another service. But after being shown everything that was wrong, including how the piping was not really correct either, we second guess our choice in Affordable for not mentioning any of this to us while they were here.Unfortunately we will not be using them again. They did have affordable rates, but i feel like you get what you pay for, and that possibly this week and a half without heat in our home could have been avoided.This is a hard time of year to get and keep employees, and a super busy time of year for this trade. I do take that all into consideration.In closing, Affordable did exactly what was primarily asked of them while they were here, but I feel that they could have told us about the condition the furnace was in and not just cleaned around the rot and left.Service: Heating system maintenance

I highly recommend Dave Jones and his team at Affordable Heating in Johnson City, N.Y. We had a new gas fired boiler for hot water heat installed and it could not have gone smoother. It actually was a pleasant experience. Dave is honest and will not sell you what you don't need. We were kept well informed on where we were on his work schedule. He showed up on time, and he and his crew worked hard. This is the company for you to choose for your heating and plumbing needs.

Dave spent a long time on my very old Lennox furnace and exhausted every possibility before deciding that it couldn't be repaired. He didn't just come in and take the easy way out. He eventually had to replace my old furnace, and did this at a reasonable price. He was prompt, easy to work with and very thorough. I trusted him and will continue to use Affordable.

This company has got to be the best. Amazing, HONEST, service that will tell you what the issue is and not take advantage of you and try and rip you off by trying to sell you new parts or a whole new system.My story:First off, customer service was excellent. Very nice on the phone and I received a call from their office 15 minutes prior to the appointed time letting me know our technician was on his way. He called me ten minutes later letting me know he was five minutes behind schedule and would be there at 8:35, and got there exactly when he said he would. (A+ for that in my book, as I'd rather be kept informed then be kept guessing)We had called in the day before for a diagnostics test to assess what was wrong with our heating. We just moved into the area a few years ago and never had our heating serviced. Our heating system was making crazy noises and finally stopped working. I searched around online and read some reviews and while Affordable only had a few online reviews (very positive) I thought to go with a different more well-reviewed company, but since they were the only ones who could get over before the weekend and their cost for a diagnostic was really within a competitive $10 range, I made an appointment. Boy am I glad that I did.Josh arrived and began to take a look at our very outdated boiler/heating system. He was very nice and personable and was totally fine with me watching him work. (some technicians don't like to have people looking over their shoulder...)I showed him two videos I took with my phone that recorded the sounds it had made. He smiled and said he thinks he knows what it could be. He checked it out and told me our pump motor was bone dry and the bearings were in desperate need of oil. He remarked: "Let's see if we can get lucky, and get away with just oiling it." He had it up and running within minutes. He assessed the pump and told me the system looked good and asked if I wanted him to perform a routine maintenance on it while he was there since it had been at least 3 years since it was last serviced and that I would only have to pay the difference between the diagnostic and the service. I gladly accepted and he performed the routine maintenance and checked out our whole system.He was really excellent and explained our whole system to us and the differences between newer versus older systems and was very helpful and stayed on a little bit to ensure everything was running smoothly.In a world where anyone else could have told us we had to replace the pump, or get a whole new system, he was just happy to give us good service and not take advantage of us. I feel like I can trust this company and for me, that is the most important thing.I will definitely be calling this company for any work in the future and cannot recommend them more highly.

This company was probably the most unprofessional and discourteous experience I had so far. The owner was yelling, claiming that the device with their name and phone number on is not theirs, refused to hear out what the problem is with the device, and hung up on me 3 times (and called back, then hung up again). I called this business, after hours emergency because my furnace stopped working. I left a message, they never called back. Turns out the furnace needed to be replaced. Almost 12,000 I paid through another company. So this business lost a good sale by not calling me back.
