We just completed our third extensive renovation with Remodeling Consultants and truly believe they are worth every penny! The way in which Remodeling Consultants fixes the contract price up front (with allowances for certain items) is very helpful when trying to stick to a budget, and ensures that you won't be smacked with an unexpected bill later in the process (absent any changes you specifically agree to). We also love having just one point of contact for both the design and construction (including all subcontractors) portions of the project. Richard is fantastic at coming up with creative design solutions, Dave is a very responsive super, Jeff was a kind and knowledgeable foreman, and Jerry is always available to handle any tough issues! No one can believe how quickly our projects were completed, and we have consistently recommended Remodeling Consultants to our friends.

Review continued by Nurse Nikki...Mistake #2, one of the most basic of design and build mistakes.... The entrance to me and my wife's master bathroom is not accessible unless our door is closed. Every time we open our bedroom door, it slams into the new bathroom frame, consequently scratching our expensive brand-new hardware and bathroom door frame. You would think being a "design firm" they could have designed the door a couple inches more to the right to avoid this issue.Mistake #3 and counting... due to the unfunctional “closet” our sons bathroom layout was changed. Unfortunately, someone forgot to, or wrote measurements down incorrectly and we are left with a vanity that is too large for the space... they didn't want to do the right thing and they tried to tell me they are going to cut INTO the new door frame to make it fit. Doesn't that solution seem like shoddy work? Or perhaps the easiest most profitable thing for them?Mistake #4 BEWARE of their subcontractors... in fact, find your own is my honest advice! On 1/18/24 I was told the top floor of our home was completed for painting... the painters that the owners of this company recommended, did not properly prime or prep all painting surfaces. There are large noticeable bumps in our existing windowsills because instead of sanding first, they just painted over them, there are visible nail marks that were also painted over, our brand-new windows have paint all over them as well. I have a meeting with my window contractor and have to pay to get this fixed. You know the old saying “you are who you hang out with” well, if this company can recommend terrible subcontractors who they are not liable for… imagine how this company conducts in its own office.Mistake #5 never given an opportunity to look at cabinetry even though my design consultant changed our cabinets from KitchenAid to Adelphi at the end of May, in June, specifically June 26th, I have documented photos of the cabinetry that I THOUGHT my family and I picked out. Instead, without our knowledge he took it upon himself to choose for my family instead of giving us options after changes were made.Imagine 200K paid for a kitchen and you don’t even get the cabinets you ordered. I have a recorded conversation when I sat down with the manager and my design consultant that is just Ludacris. Especially the part where the manager agreed that if we changed the cabinetry manufacturer that I should have been given an opportunity to look at the cabinets from their line of products and I thought that is what happened. My designer LIED and said that my photo of that cabinet I chose was for color reference only, now logically why would someone chose a color of a cabinet only and not style in the same day? Seems to me like you didn’t update the plans that my family and I thought we were getting. TO BE CONTINUED...Mistake #6 and why we know that our designer is so sloppy… I have multiple text messages about every aspect of design I wanted in our home. He FORGOT to write a supplement for legs on our bathroom vanities and the wrong vanities were delivered. I have text messages and dates of the exact change that was never supplemented for. Easy fix, sure, but at an extra expense… I had to pay an extra $1500 for legs even though from the beginning he knew what kind of vanities I expected. Why it wasn’t budgeted for in the beginning? Again, I digress.Mistake #7… flooring. We asked for brand new flooring throughout the WHOLE house, all new white oak was paid for. Our stair treads are not included in this, I was told that “they don’t make white oak stair treads” so their solution to yet another mistake is to match the existing staircase with a stain. So now we have to pick a stain that will match the stairs even though from the beginning our designer knew we wanted LIGHT floors. Now we must stain them darker to match our stairs because “they aren’t in the plans” After I see if our current RED oak will match our new WHITE oak flooring I’ll update this review…

Remodeling Consultants undertook a fairly large and complex remodeling job on our home, which included a kitchen, dining room, mudroom, powder room as well as an addition with a new bedroom and full bathroom. The project was conducted over two phases which added to the complexity. The people working on the house were very respectful and considerate. They did excellent work at a reasonable pace. We chose Remodeling Consultants specifically to handle some of the anticipated complexity in the job. While they did a very good job overall, there were some times when some elements slipped through the cracks that we had expected them to have a better handle over. All in all, while the communication and coordination wasn’t quite at the level we expected, the experience was quite positive and we would recommend them to anyone doing a similar project.

From the initial design process through construction, Remodeling Consultants did a first class job on our kitchen and powder room remodel. The work was done on schedule and on budget. No change orders or alterations were done without my explicit permission and the communication was open and thorough throughout the process. All of the workers were talented and respectful of our home. Our superintendent, Matt, was especially helpful and we could not be more pleased with the finished product. The next time we have a home-improvement project, R

Remodeling Consultants recently completed a spectacular job on our very outdated bathroom. This was our first project in our new home and there were several difficult decisions to be made. Our designer, Rick, was meticulous, communicative and patient. He guided us through the process and helped us choose the right fixtures and colors to achieve the aesthetic we desired. We appreciate the one-stop-shop aspect of this company as the entire team is dedicated to making your vision a reality. The job was executed on time and nearly hiccup-free. Any issues that arose were rectified quickly. We are in love with our spa-like bathroom and can’t wait to work with the team on our kitchen remodel!

We first worked with RC on major remodels of our master bath and powder room and update of a guest bathroom. Was a great experience so when we decided to re-configure our basement and completely remodel the kitchen there was no question that we’d work with them again. Rick Zaccaria was terrific to work with, very creative and especially patient when it came to planning, selecting materials and refining the custom kitchen design that is perfect. The availability of computer graphics made the whole design process easy and fun. We started the basement project first. It was thoughtfully and creatively redesigned to beautifully accommodate our storage and living space needs. The construction phases for both the basement and kitchen were thorough and uneventful and there were no surprises. Minor issues and changes were swiftly addressed and resolved without question. We love our “new” home and would highly recommend RC to friends, family and strangers

We appreciate the design teams help throughout the entire process, as it was to the highest industry standard. Highly recommended, and lookin forward to working with them again soon.

Don’t let this companies buttoned up appearance fool you. They are nothing but crooked contractors that call themselves a design/build firm. They are sloppy designers that make huge mistakes and don’t account for them.I am currently working with this company and everything has been a nightmare thus far. I will start with one thing at a time and keep updating my review as I continue to document the remainder of our project. My family and I trusted this company to design, supervise and construct the first and second floor of our home. Their design consultant made many mistakes and my family and I are left to pay for them.Mistake #1... My design consultant designed me a hall closet that was not functional. My roof line cuts into the tiny space and when the framing was completed it was literally a crawl space. Not only did I pay $3000 to have the design changed so I could have a more functional space/make the most of my square footage, but when I had a conference call with my designer and the owner, I was told that it wasn’t going to be a full closet but I would be able to fit a desk in the space so it was useable… please keep in mind that I am five foot, 100lbs and could barely get into in the “closet”. Not certain how a desk would fit in there, but I digress.

Prior to the pandemic-related lockdowns, we hired Remodeling Consultants to convert the semi-finished sunroom off our dining room into a finished study room and office. This was our second project with RC. We are thrilled again with their outstanding work and would recommend them unreservedly to anyone looking for any remodeling project.Remodeling Consultants has a two part process. The first part is a pre-payment design phase where you specify the scope and nature of the project. At the end of this phase, they provide a binding quote. If you are happy, you provide a deposit and sign a contract. The second part turns the design into reality: they provide architectural plans, file for permits, and then execute the work. For this job, we completed the design phase fairly easily, despite some disruption near the end due to COVID-related cancellations. During the long delay from COVID, RC checked in with us a few times. They informed us, e.g., that they would be providing a free upgrade on some cabinets we selected to higher quality ones because of supply problems with the original ones we had picked. Because of our concerns with COVID, the team assigned to us readily agreed to sealing off the work area with a plastic divider. They also entered and exited the work area with a ladder to isolate from our family.Even for a small job like ours, the work team was structured in the same manner as all their other jobs. We were assigned a project manager, Dave, who manages the timetable and provides quotes for work extensions. Our foreman / master carpenter Mike was on-site daily; he did the bulk of the construction work and oversaw the other workers (electricians, plumbers, HVAC crew, etc.) to coordinate the required work. Dave and Mike handled all aspects of communication with the additional tradesmen with minor adjustments according to our preferences. The scope of our project was to replace a pair of swing doors with a set of pocket doors, insulating and replacing the ceiling and floor for the sunroom, and installing a custom desk for our children. To install the pocket doors, RC had to remove the existing wall which revealed plumbing and electrical that would impede the pocket door movement. Moving the pipes and wires were done at no additional cost to us. We also had to move an HVAC duct, but this was done in consultation with a separate company who did the work for a reasonable cost. Finally, in discussion with the project manager and carpenter, we decided to have RC install a completely new traditional wood floor in the sunroom, an upgrade from the original plan. We did have to pay extra for this work, but that was because we re-scoped the plan on site. Although this lengthened the project somewhat, they helped keep us close to their planned time schedule by sending extra assistant carpenters throughout the work.Every person involved in the work arrived promptly, was unfailingly polite and helpful, and happily would pause work whenever we had a question to explain whatever they were doing and how it fit into the plan. The RC crew was always friendly and polite and easy to talk to, which was welcomed considering that we were living in our house during the construction. Finally, we would like to single out for special commendation the foreman for the job, Mike. He was attentive and tidy to an extreme degree. It was very easy to discuss all aspects of the construction with him, as he would listen patiently to any question of ours and answer with care and thoughtfulness. Moreover, the precision and artistry of his carpentry amazed us. In addition to the work he did himself, we could hear him directing the other workers to execite their portion of the work in the same careful manner which he brought to the job. No detail was too small for him to take care with. The room’s finished beauty is a testament to his skillful work.We were completely happy with the process and would not think of hiring anyone else to do any further remodeling work for our house in the future.

We hired Remodeling Consultants to remodel our kitchen and master bathroom. They are a competent and professional design/build firm. Richard Davis, our designer, was fantastic. We love our new kitchen and master bath. The team assigned to our project were always professional. They always arrived on time and were highly skilled. We can't say enough about Keith whose carpentry skills are exceptional. Although there were very minor bumps along the way, Remodeling Consultants exceeded our expectations in terms of responsiveness to correct these minor issues. We will definitely be recommending them and using them for future projects.

We have just completed our second large renovation project with Remodeling Consultants. The first project was a two-story addition in 2014, and we were so happy with their work that we did not even contemplate using any other company when we were ready to do another project beginning in December of 2019. They designed a beautiful second story addition to replace an existing large balcony off of the current master bedroom. It is impossible to tell that the addition was not always part of our home (as is the case for the first addition), although their work certainly makes the house look ten times better than it did before.Remodeling Consultants gutted our current master bedroom and created a beautiful master suite with a large bedroom with a cathedral ceiling, multiple closets and a beautiful master bath, they also turned our existing master bath into another full bath for use by the other upstairs bedrooms and gutted that shower and put in a stunning new shower.I cannot say enough great things about our experience with RC. The work was completed in the time that we discussed, which actually required herculean efforts as our project wrapped up just as New York was closing due to the pandemic in March 2020. Having Frank and Frank in our home every day was an absolute pleasure. They are dedicated workers, but also kind and extremely considerate people and I was happy to have them in my home. The management team at RC was incredibly responsive to any questions and concerns. Dave was our supervisor for the majority of the project and he was delightful to work with and made sure that everything ran like clockwork.

Remodeling Consultants did a wonderful job. They were thorough, professional, and attentive. We are thrilled with how the project turned out. They helped us from the very beginning envision what our new space could be and they made sure it happened. Whenever something came up or needed to be fixed they were responsive to our needs and held our hands throughout the process. We would recommend Remodeling Consultants to anyone who wants their job done well.

Remodeling Consultants is a very professional company taking care of everything you need for a remodeling job. All the people were very friendly and helpful, making excellent suggestions that we had never even thought of, that really improved the project. They completed the job on time and on budget without any surprise costs at the end. From the initial meeting, we were walked through each phase, with the design and costs and time frame spelled out for us. All the workers who came to our home were very professional and polite, cleaning up the work area everyday. Remodeling Consultants coordinated the plumbers, electricians, tile installers, and countertop installer so we did not have to be concerned about finding contractors. The carpenters who work for Remodeling Consultants are extremely experienced, talented craftsman who took great care and pride in all their work. They arrived on time everyday, and they were all a pleasure to deal with. A supervisor came by almost everyday to look at the work and to ask if we had any questions. Any questions or concerns were dealt with in a timely, professional and positive manner. We would enthusiastically recommend Remodeling Consultants without any hesitation.

We have just completed our 4th project in ten years with Remodeling Consultants and couldn't be happier with the results. We renovated our kitchen/family room and converted a barely used sunroom into a home gym. The whole process from noodling an idea into an intricate design with Alan Lobien to finishing the project with Jerry Zaccaria was very smooth and easy. Communication and responsiveness of the job supervisor and team was excellent. We even finished a few days early. A few issues that came up that could have been addressed during the design/architect process were taken care of at no additional charge. I find the design/build approach from Remodeling to be far easier and more professional than the hire and architect and then find a contractor approach. We would not hesitate to use them again!

Review of Remodeling Consultant Inc. (RCI)WOW!!That one word captures our excellent experience with RCI.This past fall we decided to update 1.5 baths in our Larchmont home. We interviewed several different contractors for quality, timeliness and for price and after careful consideration chose RCI. That was the best decision that we could have made!!We have done several renovations over the past 25 years living in Larchmont and without a doubt our experience with RCI was the best. One of our big concerns was knowing that the project would finish on time. In the past we even put monetary incentives if the project finished on schedule and penalties if the project did not. When we met with Rick Zaccaria and offered this option to him he demurred but instead told us that as a local company for more than 30 years he wanted us to agree to write an honest review of RCI and our experience.Rick was fantastic! First of all he listened to us. Once he understood us, he walked us through our options in detail, presented very thorough plans, and accompanied us to showrooms to make appliance, tile and fixture selections.Once all the selections were made we discussed the schedule and that the project had to be completed by Thanksgiving. We expected to have our family together and bathrooms would be key to family harmony. We agreed on a start date and he agreed we would be doneThe crew that came were terrific! They were clean, on time, efficient. Yuri the project manager was communicative and responsive. When there were changes to the plan based on site considerations or unexpected modifications Yuri and the team was incredibly gracious and effective. He was regularly on-site and checking the progress of the project.Amazingly they completed the project early! We are thrilled with the outcome and our decision to work with RCI for our renovation project and would DEFINITELY chose them again.Frieda Kraft andVictor BadnerService: Remodeling

From start to finish, we were very satisfied with Remodeling Consultants for our master bathroom remodel. Alan Lobien, our design consultant, was meticulous. He made multiple visits to our house and created detailed plans. He walked us through every design choice and met us at vendors to select counters, fixtures, etc. Yuriy Halva, the project manager, checked in weekly (or more) to coordinate demolition, plumbing, electrical, painting, tiling, etc. John was at our house daily. He laid tarp up our stairs to begin and cleaned up at the end (and was very sweet to three curious children!). He kept us in the loop about progress and next steps. RC was also meticulous with the permitting process. We'd been advised by neighbors that Scarsdale was exacting with permits and inspections. RC coordinated it all and saved us a lot of work. They also had a representative present during all inspections. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or use for our next project!

We hired Remodeling Consultants to finish our basement. Our basement was entirely unfinished prior to this project. The project scope was fairly ambitious: we wanted to add a new bathroom, move our laundry machines from one room to another and build a laundry closet, plus install drywall, and add several finished storage closets. We started with a long design process. Charlie, who worked with us, was extremely helpful. He provided guidance and was flexible about even large scale modifications. We had a number of meetings, and were provided with extensive design services, both at our home and at the company offices, before we had to make a final commitment. We were shown complete plans prior to our commitment to proceed with construction. It was during the construction phase, though, that the professionalism, excellence, and incredible devotion to customer satisfaction of RC shone through most strongly. The main team on site each day were a master carpenter / foreman and an assistant carpenter. They were punctual, polite, and extremely easy to work with. There is also a project supervisor who is on site very frequently, both to guarantee that the work is proceeding rapidly and according to the plans, as well as to be available for questions or clarifications. Our communications with everyone exceeded our expectations. Everyone at the company, from the design consultants to the craftsmen were responsive and eager to make we were happy. They were also flexible and willing to accommodate small details (e.g., location of HDMI plugs, heights of closet shelves).Early in the project, we realized that one of the walls that had been framed with too little space for an exterior door to open all the way. The plans that we had agreed to and that the team were working from were a little ambiguous on the precise location of this wall. We raised our concern about the wall with the construction team the next day. Although the plans could be interpreted in the way they had built it, the wall was moved. We were not charged extra for this change, and throughout the discussion the team was chiefly interested in making sure we were happy with the construction. All of the work was of exceptionally high quality. Some simple examples: we had interior shiplap installed in the main room. The installation was done with impeccable precision, with such care that the decorative lines of the shiplap aligned perfectly in the full sweep of the room, despite a number of corners, doors, and closets. Another example regarded a small broom closet we asked to add to the plans during construction at a modest additional charge. We only asked for a very simple box, but the workmen exceeded our expectations, overlaying the shiplap on the front of the closet door to make it seem to fade into the wall. The custom trim and closet shelving that they installed are beautifully made, again exceeding our expectations. The plumbers worked quickly and diligently. The tile installation in the bathroom was done both with great and care. The wall tiles were perfectly straight and flat and the grout lines were clean and precise. Even now we find ourselves appreciating small improvements and fixes which we did not originally notice or know to anticipate.RC promises a fixed price, and we were not surprised by any additional costs on their part. The only warning is that these workmen were so good and easy to work with that you might find yourself requesting work outside the original scope. We added a number of small extra projects during the work, each at a reasonable extra expense. These extras were attended to with the same care and precision as the previously planned work.

Very professional consultant. We have not received a final price yet. This place came highly recommended... but pricing is rumored to be on the high side. .
