Allan was quick to respond to email and came by to discuss our tree removal needs. He was in no rush, took time to answer questions about other trees on the property and helped us think through which trees we needed to take down. He returned later with Ed to discuss strategy and further review our decisions. Finally, the day came and Ed, Allan and Max geared up and it was a pleasure to watch their artistry as they worked carefully and thoughtfully with an aesthetic flair that not just took down large trees that were endangering our house, but also prepared us with a stock of neatly piled firewood for the coming year. They were friendly, funny, and happy to offer tips about other trees on the property. Allan offered to return a few days later to give me tips on chainsaw use and splitting logs safely, which I was very happy to receive. The day he returned I had a dead car battery and he offered to come back later in the day to give me a jump! First I am not sure why it's posting as my business when the work they did was at my home.The ghostbuster song pops into my head every time I think of Catskills Mountain Wood. "who are you going to call???"The first time we called them was to remove several large trees that were hanging right over the roof of a house we just purchased. This is a very delicate tree removal since one wrong calculation and the tree(s) would come crashing down on the roof. Needless to say, it was a great success and a year later I am still using the fire wood from the trees.The second time was an emergency call. I came home to a wind fallen tree at the bottom of my very long driveway. Impossible to drive up and a hike by foot. Allan came right over, started up his chainsaw and in minutes I was smooth sailing up my driveway.Highly recommend. When I got 4 biscotti and saw the price was 12.99 a pound I was floored. The service was sweet and kind. The bread was good and the price reasonable. The cannoli was rather good,but small and lacked the mini chocolate chips and dusting of powdered sugar but I enjoyed it. We must have gotten there too late because nothing we asked for was available so we got bread, 2 thumbs 👍 up, pastries,2 thumbs 👍 up for flavor and authenticity. Price of pastry 1 thumbs 👎. We will go back again.

I called three different tree service companies in the area a couple of times and left voice mail messages. Never even received a call back. Unfortunately not unusual for this area. Coincidentally Allan was doing some work for a neighbor. He agreed to take a look at my requirements, which included taking down a three trunk river birch that was in bad shape and dangerously close to the house. He and Ed went to work and expertly took the tree down, which we estimated had grown to about 60 feet. Pricing was very reasonable. They are extremely professional and left the premises pristine. We had to widen our view corridor recently and called around for tree removal services. Allan at Catskill Mountain Wood responded right away, checked out the situation, and got to work. He brought the team over and before we knew it they'd cleared out a bunch of trees, and cleaned up the logs and limbs in nice tidy piles. Really tidy, efficient and professional. If you've spent much time in the Catskills you know it's hard sometimes to get people to even call you back for stuff like this.
