I can not begin to tell you how pleased I am with the quality of workmanship Ark and his crew (Mattas) did on the construction of my new deck. They carefully took apart and removed my old deck. Built the new framework level and square. Then took great care installing the new Trex deck boards. The finishered deck just looks amazing. Old time quality workmanship, very hard to find nowadays. Great company to deal with.

The work behind the walls is as nicely done as the walls themselves and things in front of them.Ark the owner is an excellent general contractor and he hires professional workers who take pride in their work. Ark is reliable and easy to work with and checked in and worked on the project every day. Everyone who works for him was respectful of my home, friendly, and did quality work - often beyond what they had to do. The subcontractors all did excellent work on the electrical and plumbing parts of the job as well. The job was completed in a very reasonable amount of time and for the agreed upon price.I am very happy with the finished product and would definitely recommend AKO Buildiers for your next renovation project. Ark and his team completed the renovation of my kitchen in Staten Island recently and we are completely satisfied, we love it! I don't even know where to begin! I hired Ark for a major porch/deck rebuild/reimagine and wow did he and his team deliver. I initially called him based on the amazing google reviews and even asked him if they were real--he assured me every single one was from a satisfied customer. Hiring a contractor for a major project is intimidating to say the least, but after meeting Ark and going over my vision of what I wanted, I felt completely at ease and confident that I hired the right company. His employee Matt is amazing, he was the major deck builder and worked tirelessly every single day for two weeks--everything is PERFECT, it is strong, safe, beautiful and even, I can't say enough about what a lovely and talented young man he is. Then the finishing work--framing out and installing doors, and custom screening for part of my deck, wow. I cannot tell you how beautiful it is, we are beyond thrilled. It's like I added an entire room to my house, and it looks like it belongs there. Fair prices, honest, comes when they say they will, pleasant, easy communication--by far the best experience we have ever had with a contractor. And, they protected my bushes and flowers, not one broken stem!! The photos don't do this project justice, but take a peek!

If you’re in need of a contractor who is insured, knowledgeable, a professional with workers who are craftsmen, look no further, AKO Builders and Home Improvement is EXACTLY who you want. My kitchen was 43 years old and needed everything replaced. Walls, ceiling, floor, electrical, plumbing, cabinets were all demolished and replaced to our specifications. His workers were not only craftsmen, but cleaned up after themselves daily, well beyond our expectations. The owner, Arkady, (ARK) was very responsive, solved any problems that occurred, and when replacing 43 year old construction you know you’re going to have problems. He even solved some issues that occurred with the kitchen Cabinet Company and there were no extra charges. His pricing was very reasonable and with the increase in material prices due to the supply chain restraints, he honored his original quotes. I could not be more happy and I’m honored to recommend him to anyone who needs a professional contractor.OUTDOOR DECK:He also replaced my second story outdoor deck. Again my deck was over 40 years old and in desperate need of repair. Ark advised us to put the stairs in a different place than the original design and it is so much better. My yard looks bigger with much more usable space. The deck itself came out great and we are more than pleased. Hopefully the pictures will do him justice. We chose AKO Builders to build our new composite deck and we could not be happier.Ark is extremely knowledgeable, professional, fair, and a real pleasure to work with. He stopped by every day to check on the progress and to go over details with us. He provided helpful insight into the design and choice of materials, particularly the rails and skirt.Mattas was the lead carpenter on our job and his carpentry skills are exceptional. He is meticulous, focused, and takes pride in his work. His partner, Arsen, was professional, conscientious, and hard working.They demolished and removed our old wood deck impressively neatly and swiftly. They worked through several days of extreme heat and beating sun and never slowed down. Ark and his team did repair work as a result of a roof leak. They replaced an entire exterior bedroom wall, including reinforcing the shingles from the inside, replacing rotted framing and a window header, as well as partially replacing the wood floor, sanding, painting and sealing. The finished bedroom looks great, the floor in particular. The workers came on time every day, and were very neat and professional, and hardworking. Ark was very responsive to emails and questions, and was flexible with scheduling. His price was reasonable for the work he did. I would recommend AKO Builders.

My husband and I searched over a year for a contractor to replace our wooden deck and 2 stairways with a composite type material. We had no regrets hiring AKO Builders to build us a 12x16 high deck. We met with many contractors, but Ark's personality stood out, as he was very professional, patient, and respectful. He provided us a very reasonable quote and was honest about when he can start the work, since he's very busy during the summer. When he came to start the work, we were blown away at how fast and efficiently he and his team were able to finish the job. It took 4 days in total to complete and they cleaned up very nicely. His workers are very talented and gave lots of attention to detail. Ark was very responsive to phone calls and in-person meetings to review plans in detail. After our deck was built, we received many compliments from neighbors that asked for Ark's info. I had contacted a few contractors, some didn’t respond back with a quote and some weren’t able to help me get the deck legal. Hands down best deck builders in the island. I am very meticulous when it comes down to details, the 45 degree angle cut is important when dealing with composite deck material, have to be on point when it comes down to building a deck. I cannot recommend this company enough! They are respectful, responsive and truly care about the work that they do. I reached out to see if they could come repair a few nails in the deck they installed a few years ago. They came out the next day and fixed it without a problem.
