I noticed some dark spots on the Sheetrock in the corner of my finished basement. I wasn’t sure what was causing the moldy looking wall.I realized that water was puddling at the bottom of the basement wall when it rained. The water was also hidden under the concrete. Even when the keyway looked nearly dry, I could feel water, mud and wet rocks under the concrete floor.Days went by and panic began to set in; I wasn’t sure who could fix something like this. It would be a huge job to rip up the driveway and fix the water problem from the outside.I needed someone to fix the wall leak and the hole under the slab. It had to be done from the inside.Luckily, I found B. Altman’s Waterproofing. I figured I would call and leave a message (it was already late but I wanted to put a call in and get the ball rolling) Surprisingly, the owner answered.He had me send photos of the basement wall, floor etc. Barry analyzed the situation quickly. He realized the wall had a long crack as well. He answered all my questions and described why and how leaks like this occur. He assured me that the problem was very fixable.Two days later, Barry’s technician, Marcos arrived promptly at 9am. He spent the entire day fixing the problem. He cleaned out the crack in the wall and added epoxy injections all along the damaged areas. Then he filled in the cracked keyway. Marcos was a true professional, his work was clean and he kept my house neat; even making sure to use a drop cloth everywhere he worked. The job was finished in one day!About a week later Staten Island had what was called the wettest December ever. Floods were everywhere in the tristate area. It was about 2 days worth of nonstops rainfall! Two of my neighbors told me that they had to use a shop vac to dry up the rain that had entered their basements, but my basement was actually dry for once!Thank you B. I called B. Altman's to repair a foundation crack visible in the garage and on the exterior wall. Barry uses the most comprehensive epoxy process possible when treating foundation cracks. I used B Altman's Waterproofing to repair a small crack in my foundation that was letting water in when it rained heavily. Barry was very responsive, and gave me all of the details of how his treatment would work. Within 2 days, he had Marco come to work on it, and he finished all of his work within one day. From the first time Barry came to our house to review the scope of work and provide an estimate, we knew that we found the right guy for our waterproofing needs. He was extremely thorough in his review and took time to explain how they would approach our project. His pricing was very reasonable for the amount of work that was involved. We felt very comfortable moving forward with Barry and his team. As promised, Barry and his workers came to our house, on time, as scheduled, and got right to work. Their work was done neatly and his guys were professional in the way they carried out their work. Most importantly, their waterproofing work stopped the water from coming in. I spoke to company and they responded immediately. They came to house next day and I showed worker where leak was from the outside of house. He went inside basement and located problem. He spent quite a while around 3.5 hours and fixed leak from both inside and outside of my basement. He cleaned up the area and left it spotless. I had used Mr. Altmans service previously about 2 years ago to deal with water penetration through one of my foundation walls. I was extremely happy with the work he did then, and have had zero problems with that issue ever since. I recently had another problem develop (I have an older home) with groundwater seeping into my sump pit. I called and made an appointment with him. and he came to do an assessment of the problem the next day.He outlined what he wanted to do, gave me an estimate, and set up a date for him to come do the work. He and one of his guys showed up on time,and got right to work. The work was done neatly, with no mess in my basement, in just 4 hours, and all discarded materials were bagged up and removed.The price was very reasonable, and since it was done it has rained several times and not a sign of any water coming in. I can highly recommend Mr. Altman for any problems you have with water causing damage in your homes foundation.

I wish we knew about B Altman Basement Waterproofing before we had a parade of French Drain salesmen promising to cure our basement water problem at a very high cost to us. Unlike our neighbors, who did install French Drains that ultimately clogged and never cured the water seepage problems, we chose to fix the problem instead of allowing water to continually degrade the basement footings. Thankfully, a construction expert recommended Barry Altman. Barry’s expertise, professionalism, honesty, and long history of success was literally a breath of fresh air. He examined the basement and pinpointed the problem areas, explaining how the water was getting in and what he would do to permanently fix the problem. And he did just that, at a cost much lower than the average French drain installation. The job took just 2 days and Barry’s men (Ramon and his partner) were on time, professional, and respectful. They left our basement immaculate and permanently protected against any water problems. After years of headaches, we finally have a dry, clean-smelling basement that we can use as extra living and storage space. After interviewing several people for the job of waterproofing and finishing our basement, Barry’s presentation and vision impressed us most. However as we know the most important part of the contract between the customer and contractor are the results. Barry and his team delivered!Both Barry and his workers, especially Mimo and Carlos, were totally professional and respectful and very reliable. They worked almost every day for many hours until the project was completed. I might note that throughout all phases of the project, they were very neat and constantly cleaned up any dust or rubbish daily which was an added bonus and very appreciated. Even the workers that were there only a handful of days were extremely polite and professional. My wife and I were at ease throughout the entire process.As I mentioned before, results matter. The finished project came out better than I envisioned and we have not had a single drop of water in our new basement! I Know A Guy! My husband and I are fortunate to have collected a handful of exceptional "connections" when it comes to serious work and investments and B. Altman is one of them. Water was flowing in like a stream when repairs began and Barry did an incredible job on figuring out what the issues were and addressed them immediately. after everything had drained, (2 days) he called and inquired on how everything looked so far and then returned to complete the rest of the job.
