Found FD Building randomly through an old mailed advertisement. Read some reviews and gave them call. I’m so thankful I made that decision. I was somewhat overwhelmed with the scope of what I needed done since it involved the whole house, but they were incredibly patient and helpful throughout the process. Eddie was better than the architect who drew my plans at understanding what I wanted and helping to bring that to life. He caught issues before they happened and proposed great ideas to correct them (Thank you for being so patient with me 🙏🏼). AJ as the project manager has been nothing but awesome. He goes out of his way to help with most anything. He kept the site clean (my neighbors loved him), and he was always up front about the cost of things when unforeseen damage was uncovered. He didn’t cut corners and I have confidence in the work that was done because of him. The people he brought in did a great job, especially Julian with the tile and Dan with the electric! The office staff at FD are incredibly nice too. Lacey was always pleasant and helpful. Melanie was very responsive with my requests on the financial end. I have to give credit to Mike, who owns FD. You’ve got an incredible staff, which speaks volumes about you. I would highly recommend this company to anybody looking to get any type of work done on their house.

The project was completed on time and Anthony Salerno and his crew were very courteous and responsive to our questions. FD Building Co. was recommended to us by our architect as we were planning some major work at our house. From the minute we reached out to them they were receptive, responsive and on top of our needs immediately. After considering three builders to do the work, we selected FD and have had no regrets with our decision. In fact, we are completely satisfies and pleased with our decision to use them and the performance of the work done.Our job manager Anthony Salerno was fabulous. I worked with FD Building on my house on the east end of long island after there was major flood damage. Jim Rice was the project manager and he was super responsive, and patient with my many questions. Once work began, there was steady progress (faster than I imagined it would be)! I felt like I could text and ask any question and Jim was always very responsive which is helpful when youre a first time home renovator! The project included complete overhaul of the kitchen, 3 bathrooms, and finishing the basement! The folks at FD (from Jason in sales, to Laci in accounting and Jim the project manager) are all progressional, organized, and responsive. From the time we had Jason look at our old kitchen to the time we had a completed project, we found everyone at FD Building to be timely, neat, and responsive. If you had a question, someone always got back to you quickly. Jason gave us a detailed estimate for our project, Laci kept us informed about the schedule and paperwork, Melanie answered all sorts of questions about costs and payments, and Anthony (AJ) directed every aspect of our renovation. While we were away, AJ sent photos of the daily progress, he supervised the plumbers, carpenters, electrician, tile installers always insisting on the highest quality work. His goal was for us to love our new kitchen and we do. You can depend on FD Building to treat you fairly, honestly, and to keep in touch regularly. We hired FD to add 900 sf to our 1300 sf home and do some work on the existing house. This involved excavating in order to extend the basement under part of the new addition, raising the roof on part of the house, new HVAC system for the entire house, complete new siding and windows for the entire house, new and refinished floors throughout house, paint interior of entire house.The extension added new bathroom, 2 new bedrooms, sunroom and playroom. Overall we are very satisfied with the result. Although we had some differences on what constituted a changeorder and what was included in the fixed price, Mike was reasonable and cooperative in resolving issues. The project managers, John and George were both terrific. John handled most of the project and George took over at the end for punchlist items. John was a pleasure to work with, paid attention to details and even gave us some design suggestions which enhanced the look of the house. George got the punchlist completed quickly and efficiently. Only issue was the HVAC system which needed additional work to pass the HERS test. FD work had to be coordinated with pool contractor and septic system contractor and there were no problems with the coordination. FD's work came in close to on time even with a one month hiatus due to change in project managers. Since this is our second home, we are grateful the work got done without significant hitches even though we were rarely on site. House looks terrific. We hired FD Building Co for a Kitchen Remodel of our summer home that expanded into replacing windows, refinishing floors, and installing Central AC. Throughout the entire process, the company was extremely professional. They brought an Interior Designer to the initial meeting that helped walk us through the multitude of design options. FD Building Co showed up for every appointment on time, they provided a extremely detailed and itemized estimate, and were very responsive for any follow-up inquiries. The project manager kept the team moving and kept us apprised of a few issues that came up while they were on the job, including a problem with our heater, chimney and new door replacement due to a gap between the door and new flooring that came up because we ripped up several layers of old flooring. They came back with suppliers and efficiently managed the change requests. The finished kitchen and changes looks amazing and we're very happy with the results. Service is a somewhat lost art these days but it can be found in abundance with the team from FD Building. They remodeled my kitchen earlier this year and I was very impressed with the overall process.The project included the removal of a load bearing wall, which also contained the waste line for the second floor. A complete gutting of the kitchen was necessary. They completely prepped the bare surfaces, removing old nails, screws, etc... instead of just hammering them in or going over them. That attention to detail makes a huge difference for the finished product and they performed each step with the same attention.Every project has its issues and even for situations where they were unsure of the best way to deal with a surprise, they took the time to find out instead of just "winging it" as many do. The attention to detail, the dedication to doing things the proper way and how receptive they are, those are reason enough for me to recommend FD Building. FD construction did a gut renovation of our master bathroom. The workmanship is outstanding. All their contractors were efficient and experts in their field. The communication with David (project manager) and AJ gave us step by step updates on progress during the project. Dennis and his team are incredible. We had an issue with a previous contractor and we had Dennis step in to finish our Southampton house renovation. He helped us get the project done and it came out perfectly. We love everything. Milton has a great design sense and helped pick out a beautiful kitchen. Dennis is also very honest. He tells it like it is. He gives you a price and then he sticks to it and he doesn't try to up-sell or over-charge you for every little thing. He is always willing to work on things if there is an issue or problem and make it right. We plan to use FD Building again for the next phase of our renovation. We hired FD Building to perform a renovation of our house. They started work but after 2 days of work they failed to come on site for five weeks, without explanation as to why. After pressing them on the issue I was faced with an extremely unprofessional response from the business owner and false accusations as to the reason for the delay. They quoted design changes as the reason for the delay even though the design hadn’t changed at all since the start of works. They also tried to shift the blame on me for not procuring one minor off-the-shelf part which wouldn’t have been needed until the framing work was well under way. There had been no communication prior to this that any inaction on my behalf would have been holding up the process, although that was not the case. After correcting them, they conceded and offered to terminate the contract thus leaving us with an uncommitted contractor less than a month before the start of the summer season and a substantial loss in rental income. Prior to the start of work they referred us to a designer who was incapable of producing an executable design and we had to go out and hire another designer to complete the design. In addition, they urged me to buy materials from their business partner who was outrageously expensive. Dennis and all the guys at FD building are awesome! Dennis worked directly with me and my wife to make our project come in on time and on budget! When was the last time you heard of a builder doing that!?!?!I told someone yesterday that I think the three biggest problems with contractors are 1) budget 2)timing 3) dust.Dennis gave me a detailed proposal for my project from the beginning and stuck to that perfectly.He set up a schedule on google calendars where each sub contractor was scheduled and pretty much stayed exactly on track.....only one or two hiccups that were somewhat expected with a project as big as what we had.The guys went over and above to contain the dust as to not get it all over the rest of the house. We were living in the house while construction was happening and they did a great job containing it.I would recommend FD building to anyone looking to redo a kitchen.Last note....they pick up their phones. When I had a questions, either Dennis or his office staff would pick up and respond immediately.I highly recommend using FD building for any project!
