We purchased our home in February 2021, right in the middle of the pandemic. It was a time of long supply line delays and Covid-related work issues. And because we were brand-new to the area and our project called for an extensive renovation and a lot of furniture acquisition, we needed a firm that could provide project management along with the design component. Best decision we've made in a long time! We chose A+R for helping us furnish the main living level of our new home and what a fantastic job they did. They furnished our great room, screened decks, kitchen, dining, and primary bedroom. When I walked into my new bedroom I actually got goosebumps it was so beautiful. They recommended furniture, bedding, art and window treatments in a simple method of clicking and selecting, since we weren't living in Asheville at the time. We appreciated how they also helped us with lighting decisions and paint colors even though we were primarily focused on furniture. The lights they selected are amazing. So enjoyable to work with! Five stars! Talli Roberts of Allard & Roberts handled design for a down-to-the-studs renovation of our lake house in Lake Lure, NC, with Steve Hammett of M.S. Hammett Construction as contractor. The entire house changed, with totally new furniture indoors and out—needless to say, Talli and team managed an incredible amount of detail. Talli turned our inspiration images into a house that feels both clean and contemporary but also warm and welcoming. The A&R team made recommendations and choices that resulted in our house feeling intentional and “right” at every turn. Most importantly though, the house is incredibly comfortable.

It is no exaggeration to say that, for me, Talli and Megan saved the day. My husband and I bought a lovely home, but one that was dark and dated inside and heavily stylized in Tudor fashion. Long story short, Talli and Megan transformed the interior to Transitional style in just 4 months and now I LOVE our home, which feels fresh and bright - the kitchen especially.Among their strengths: Talli & Megan LISTEN. They tailor their suggestions to the client’s preferences and tastes, not their own. At the same time, I appreciated their candor when I asked for a “yay” or “nay” about the areas I was decorating on my own (the upstairs bedrooms, for example).A&R has been in business in Asheville for over a decade, so they are well connected and facilitated many of the introductions I needed coming from a different state, including finding the General Contractor. They worked in partnership with the builder so that I could be across the country while the work was being done and I didn’t have to worry about managing it myself – that’s how much trust I placed in A&R.Talli and Megan and team are also highly responsive. I had a tight timeframe to complete this project before we moved in. Talli and Megan always responded to me within 24 hours or less and they helped drive the project to the expected completion date, including managing the punch list follow up and the furniture delivery to ensure no items arrived damaged or caused damage. They even helped find accessories to create a finished look.If you have the means to invest in a high-end, blue chip design service – A&R is the team to beat. I highly recommend them. They are also a lot of fun to work with.

We loved our experience with A + R from the moment we began our project. We developed a strong trust in the team. Therefore, we were willing to take their advice and step beyond our comfort level in making several decisions. A + R thinks outside the box. When they weren't able to source a dining room table that would suit our needs, they had one made. We have several pieces of furniture that were created for us and we also have several pieces of furniture that were not custom made. The finished project is a perfect blend of both and has created a warm and inviting home.

Working with ARID was a wonderful experience that yielded a fantastic result. Upon purchasing a lot and hiring an architect, we needed an interior design firm that would help us to create our dream house. We engaged ARID to help with this task. A budget and time frame were established. ARID completed our project on time and within budget. They are true professionals and a pleasure to work with. They documented every step of the process and kept us advised. Their knowledge, expertise, follow up, and pleasant work style made the process fun. We ended up with a design that met our needs and looks fantastic. We feel that we were fortunate to have selected and been able to work with one of Asheville's premiere design firms.

Our experience with A&R was nothing short of first class. The entire A&R team was very organized and handled everything is a very professional way. Our project was a remodel of a home from the 1920’s that lent to many adjustments on the fly. We ended up with a home that we are exceptionally proud of and our use of A&R can be directly responsible for the the end result. We live 6 to 7 hours away from the project which made it almost impossible for us to have done this project without some help. A&R conveniently made the distance a non-factor by handling most of the issues that needed a local touch. I would not hestitate to use Talli,Sharon, Celesta, Michelle, and the rest of the team again. I initially hired Talli when I first moved to Asheville over 2 years ago. She worked with me to coordinate the move, purchase new furniture, and coordinate the delivery and placement of my existing furniture on move in day. I was able to communicate my style to her and she worked within my budget. At the same time she led me to several local businesses that carry sustainable furniture and to various local artists to create the right ambiance. She was fun to work with and completely dependable. I have worked with several designers all over the country and I have to say this was the most stress less move I have ever had! In fact I enjoyed working with Talli so much that I hired her and Sharon to coordinate the renovation of my basement this past year. Since I travel for work so much it was important that I have someone who is trustworthy and dependable to see that work would carry on in my absence. She helped with getting estimates from several contractors then worked with the contractor and project manager to oversee the project in its entirety. When I was in town we made selections and when I was gone she made sure that the project moved forward. Talli helped me work through countless decisions and always looked for ways to save me money. My house looks great and always gets amazing comments from my friends and guests. But probably the best part of working with Talli and Sharon is they make you feel like family. I can’t recommend them highly enough!

The Allard and Roberts team did a phenomenal job of managing all aspects of my design project, with the significant distractions of the Covid pandemic during the entire time. I am very satisfied with their professional manor and am very excited by the results of their work. They listened carefully to what I considered important and were able to accomodate what I was looking for, even when I was not 100% sure myself.
