Scotty was very friendly @ the first meeting, praying with us for my husband’s health issues. Once construction started everything changed. His workers tore the old shingles off the roof hitting our window screens tearing and ripping them in many places, making black marks on our siding. Our gutters were torn off even though we had never talked about replacing them. Snow guards were supposed to be installed on the metal roof. Scotty promised they would be. After over six months Scotty’s promise to repair screens never happened. The gutters were eventually patched up but not very functional. Snow guards were never installed. Payment was given with Scotty promising to finish repairs. We gave him months to make this right. He then stopped answering our phone calls. If this is how his company treats his customers he should be ashamed. Do yourself a favor and go with any other roofer. We wish we had.

RUN FAR AWAY!!! We had a metal roof put on by this guy @ 6 years ago and I knew we would need to replace soon after seeing how it was completed.He seemed like a great guy when he came and gave us a quote and he sounded like he cared about the quality of his work. WRONG.We have had several small leaks and now a major one, and we are currently getting bids for a whole new roof after getting this one inspected and being informed that "Just about everything was done wrong."He must hire crews out of S.C. or the Home Depot parking lot because they don't have a clue and didn't speak any english.This Guy does not stand behind his work and will treat your property like a job site, not like a home.It's now going to cost us an additional $15.000 to replace a6 year old metal roof.LIKE I SAID, RUN FAST AND FAR AWAY FROM THIS GUY.

My husband and I recently had our roof replaced by Scott and his crew. They worked so quickly and efficiently- they were done in a day and a half! They had no surprise costs-they quoted exactly what we ended up paying. We are so pleased with our new metal roof. It's everything we would have hoped for and more! We would highly recommend these guys for your roofing needs!

OKAY. Here we go. I used Scott Mathis to install a Corrugated Metal roof onto my house. This experience was just shy of complete disaster. I will start with the Pro list because it is much shorter.Pros: The metal roof looks nice.Cons: the whole list below.The con's list is significantly longer. When I first contacted Scott to do work on my roof he was professional and nice. The price seemed to be right where it should be per my research on the internet.Then the rescheduling started. I got set for a day and was prepared to take the time off work so I could be home to make sure nothing bad happened and to keep my dogs calm. But then I got bumped out a week, he was behind on other projects which is fine. Then the next week came around and I was bumped out once more due to weather. Then I was set for a day and had the time off. I called the day before to confirm and I was bumped out again but was told for sure this time. THEN the Corrugated metal machine broke and it would be a week or so before they even had materials to do my roof. This of course is when I messaged him that I would have to look into other options since this was clearly not meant to be. He called me a few days later after not responding to my message, and for real would do it after the machine was fixed. I told him to call me when that happened and we could set a day but in the mean time I had started to look into other companies.Then the chaos starts. This is 100% fact how this went down. A week after that phone call I am at work when my security camera motion sensor for the back deck starts to go off. I get worried because I have one of my dogs out in the yard for the day and check on it. I pull the camera up and see shingles down on the back deck. This throws me into a panic. It had been windy the days before and I already had areas where shingles had fallen. I thought the wind had pulled them down. I am in my managers office in seconds saying I have to leave and go home and check on my dog and make sure he wasn't injured. I get to the parking lot and start checking my other cameras, then see the roofing crew and van in my yard. COMPLETELY unannounced, no call, no text, no email.What is worse is they let themselves into the dog yard with my dog in it without permission. They could have been injured if my dog had not been friendly and my dog could have been injured by falling materials off the roof.I then call 2-3 numbers for the company and get hold of Scott. I question why he didn't let me know what was up but the only answer is "I probably should have called you last night..."To top all of this off, they pulled my gutters off the roof. Destroyed them completely. I had replaced the gutters 3-4 years before and they had still been in great shape. I was not informed that I would be having my gutters 1.) taken down and not put back up and 2.) that they would be destroyed beyond repair.When asked for cost to install new gutters I was told it would be 3000$, which is insane because I know it only cost me around 500-700$ before. It is only about 50ft of gutters. He did not want to own this cost and asked why I was "worried about your poor gutters".I honestly do not trust that the roof was installed correctly at this point, and I will have to have an inspection done when I get paid next. I would seriously consider paying 1-2K more for somebody else to do the work and not hire this crew. It was a huge mistake. The reviews on HomeAdvisor also shouldn't be trusted. I will upload this same review there and I can only hope to save somebody else from this headache.

If I could give him fewer stars I would. The work he did for me was disastrous. Please do yourself a favor and find someone who knows what they’re going. .
