!!!!!!!WHATEVER YOU DO...DO NOT HIRE BLUESKY!!!!!!!!My home flooded on Decmber 25, 2022 from burst sprinkler pipes. On January 4th, 2023, Blue Sky arrived at my condo to repair the pipe in my kitchen. However, they did not return to fix the hole in my kitchen ceiling until June 23rd, 2023 - 170 days later.BlueSky was dispatched to my home multiple times for demolition without any prior notice. During the demolition process, little to no information was provided to me. They left industrial equipment in my home with no instructions and removed the floors, walls, and insulation in the midst of winter. Despite this, no information was provided to me regarding the next steps. BlueSky chose to communicate with the HOA instead of me.On June 16th, 2023 - 91 days after the demolition of my home ended - BlueSky came back to perform repairs.BlueSky was contracted by my HOA to do the restoration of my home. BlueSky sub-contracted with another crew of workers that I would have never have hired or given permission to these people to work on my home. The subcontractors did not all have a grasp of the English language. They had a van with a 336 number on the van, but Texas license plates. There was not a defined number of workers. They broke valuables such as a paint frame, other art work and window blinds, leaving my bedroom without blinds for multiple days. At one point, their project manager asked me to take time out of my day and research carpet samples as opposed to him bringing samples to me. I advised them that I had laminate flooring and would like that installed. Despite it being a few pennies more per foot, they refused to acomodate me.After the subcontractors ended the repairs on my home, they refused to provide me with documentation regarding the materials used, warranty information, budget, and other critical information. Despite having undergone a complete demolition and restoration of my home after a catastrophic flooding event, I have received no information. Additionally, Bluesky did not even file for work permits. The flood was a tragic incident, but Bluesky's actions were far more devastating. They exhibited no regard for my situation, and I was forced to work from home while the repairs were being carried out. Other homeowners had the option to use another company, and I would suggest calling ServePro as they use in-house employees. After they installed new carpet...they didn't even have a vacuum cleaner...they used mine!!!!!!!WHATEVER YOU DO...DO NOT HIRE BLUESKY!!!!!!!!

I Called BluSky for an estimate on 7/26/2023. the lady told me someone would get in touch with me. Russell called and set up an appointment for between 10:00 and 10:30 on July 28th. Russell did not show up but sent someone else without notifying me. The gentleman looked at the job and took measurements and said Russell would get back with me. I'm writing this review on August 10th and have not received an estimate. Do not waste your time with this company.

Great Job by the entire team. We had an emergency flood late in the evening and one call to Disaster One took care of the issues. They were quick to get on property and set up the equipment. The onsite service manager was very thorough in his assessments. I did have to ask to get status updates over the weekend by once I did they provided them regularly.Gary who was my initial contact also stopped by after to check on my satisfaction and ensure we felt like a valued client.I hope I don't have to use them again, but if I do, Disaster One will be my first call.

These guys are great. Well, at least the core people that were Disaster One are...BluSky is garbage. They have horrible customer service and you can never actually get anyone on the phone. You ALWAYS get the answering service (even at 2pm on a Tuesday). Never used to be like that with Disaster One. You always got a live, friendly, helpful human.Anyway, I had an issue with a house they rebuilt for me that was a total loss due to fire, three years later... Took me several DAYS for anyone to get back to me, but once the local guys (THAKS RALPH!!) got on the phone, they had someone there that afternoon and fixed it at no cost. Again, the CORE Disaster One team, not the BluSky garbage. Thanks to the local team for being there for me when it all happened and again this time!!

I highly recommend Disaster One as they have always been there for us whenever needed. They come out very quickly after you call, access the situation and sit and talk with you about your wants and needs. Then they get the estimate to you right away. They have done several jobs for me at several different communities I have worked for and I have always been 100% happy with the completed job, the residents are happy too! Definitely know who to call when I have any type of emergency.

I am using Disaster One for one of my one of communities right now and so far I can tell you that I am impressed! I have used several mitigation and restoration companies in the past, and none of them have had the level of communication that Disaster One has had. They are providing detailed reports of what is being done everyday, and the level of work is top notch. I have not completed the work with the company as of yet, but if it continues down the road that it is, I know I will be satisfied and so will the community.

Disaster one is awesome! They did all the work for me. Everyone was at our service at a drop of a dime when we had a fire. They took care of all the busy work, communicated with my adjuster, made sure everything was completed in a timely manner. The quality of the work was amazing! I can't tell I even had any damage to the home. The employees treated us like family. They were so caring, courteous and compassionate. The fire situation was so overwhelming and they took all of the added stress away from us. I knew I was in good hands from day one. I am so appreciative. Now that I am back in my home I feel like a new person. Without April, Gary F, Rowland and Gary the repair man ( very experienced ), I don't know where I would be right now. Mentally and physically they helped our family make it through the disaster. I recommend them to anyone. Thanks Disaster One! I just want to express my sincere gratitude.

Disaster One was quick to respond and quick to engage – which is what a business needs when down time equals lost revenue – their crew was professional and proficient at remediation and construction, and we were very pleased with the final product. I work for a real estate management company. By virtue of our business, we hire vendors of all sorts, including disaster restoration companies like Blusky. We are (were) a relatively new customer of Blusky. I was introduced to Blusky by a trusted colleague. Our first and only job so far with Blusky was a small one but we had a good experience and were excited to add Blusky to the top of our list as a preferred vendor....or so I thought. On August 16 our office received a Notice of Intent to File a Lien from Blusky listing our company as the Owner and Hiring party for work performed on a property located at 648 Matthews-Mint Hill Rd in Matthews, NC…a property we do not own and are not affiliated with. On August 17 we notified Cindie Rodriguez, Accounts Payable Supervisor for Blusky there was an error in the notice. Blusky had erroneously listed our company as the property owner for a property located at 648 Matthews-Mint Hill Rd. We informed Blusky that we were NOT the owner of record and are NOT affiliated with that property whatsoever. On August 18 we received a response from Myla Pingol, AR & Collection Manager for Blusky acknowledging the error, asking us to disregard and explained the notice would be reissued to the correct party.Fast forward to September 19, we received a filed Claim of Lien from Blusky. To say I was shocked is an understatement. The Claim of Lien contained the same incorrect information. It listed our company as the Property Owner and again as Hiring Party. Both are false. The matter was called to Myla's attention on September 20. This email was overlooked, ignored or forgotten. Blusky did not respond to my email. On September 29 I followed up with Myla again. Myla responded to my email backpedaling on her August 18 email acknowledging the error. She now claims that Blusky's paperwork was correct. She provided a copy of the work authorization that clearly showed a different company as the Owner and Hiring Party.September 30 I received an email from Lashanda Harris, South East Region Accounts Receivable Supervisor acknowledging the error and agreeing to release the lien. While I can appreciate that Blusky is willing to release the lien, doing so doesn't erase the disparaging lien naming our company in the public record, it merely shows the lien was cancelled. In fact, a reasonably prudent individual would draw the conclusion that we were forced to pay a debt to satisfy the lien. This company engages in reckless and fraudulent billing and collection practices. Consumers beware.Service: Water damage-related cleanup & repair

I am a tenant in one of the apartment complexes in Spring Lake, NC that was effected by Hurricane Florence...I can not say nothing but great things about the supervisor, Jeff McDermott and Tracy (forgot his last name) and their crew at BluSky. Both teams (Raleigh & Fayetteville) that have been working in my apartment and the rest of the complex have been very nice, caring, professional and trustworthy. I would highly recommend this company to businesses or anyone who has faced a natural disaster or any disaster. This company and their employees are the best and deserve 10 plus stars.

You can tell right away that Disaster One's main focus is the customer. Our representative, Ben, checks in on us regularly and answers any questions we may have. Aside from excellence in client service, their commitment to completing projects quickly and competently is what keeps Disaster One on our speed dial in case of emergency. Thank you, Disaster One!

I am a commercial property manager and have worked with Disaster One for about 5 years now. For fire and water cleanup, as well as issues with mold, they have been my go-to vendor. If they ever find something that I can do myself or with a maintenance person on staff and save some money, they have gladly offered that as an option as well. Highly recommend for your emergency cleanup needs.AlexDeep River Commercial

We have used Disaster One on two different occasions at different properties. Both situations were handled VERY well. Communication, workmanship, and follow up from beginning to end were all top notch. After using them we have discovered they also give back to the community!!

Working in property management, I deal with a wide variety of vendors. Disaster One is reliable, professional and consistent with follow up - which is one reason I know I can rely on them when I have a major loss at my community. Any issues that I have had have been resolved with dignity and a sense of urgency, and I appreciate that.

+*+*+*. UPDATE No longer returning calls or emails *+*+*+*+I originally contracted with Blusky, at the time the company was called Disaster 1, in May 2013. Blusky was hired to repair several townhomes after a fine At the time the we're in the Nationwide insurance vendor program because the provided a 5 year warranty on work the performed on insurance claim. Blusky is no longer in this program because of results like kind I'm experiencing. After 5 years of terrible work, several BBB complaints and constant fighting with them, and after I had to threaten to contact the NC Attorney General and hire a lawyer they finished a punch list, collected the remaining fee and issues me a 5 year warranty effective u til mid 2023 (not sure of the exact dates at the moment). I have been calling and emailing them since Feb 23 2019 with no response. I have emailed Jon Easy and Tim Lednum. I called to confirm I had the correct email addresses and that they still worked for the company. I sent emails on Feb 23 2019 and March 27 2019. I called the Greensboro office and the Denver headquarters and haven't received any return correspondence.I need some work done on the townhomes and they won't respond at all.Disaster 1 was contracted to rebuild a structure at a townhome community. Original fire damage occurred May 25, 2015. Work dragged on for 2 years, until spring 2017. After 2 years of slow or no response to requests to finish work contractor started demanding and threatening legal action to get their final payment. I was forced to pay them so the individual homeowners were not harmed by legal action. They completed 90% of the final list we gave them. Since they received final payment they haven't finished the list and haven't done little work to complete the list or address new problems. Disaster 1 gave me the warranty paperwork but refuse to address issues. The most recent issue is pipes freezing. While it has been cold there are 50 other units that don't have problems. Just the 2 units Disaster 1 rebuilt. Disaster 1 had a subcontractor out to correct an issue with the bathtub, unsupervised by Disaster 1, and we believe they didn't replace insulation meant to keep this from being an issue. Jon Easly has been contacted several times with requests for service and has refused to address any problems. I believe they are just stalling until the warranty runs out. The other problems relating to the severely leaking windows have been on going for almost a year with no work being done. They just come out, look and say they will be back. They said the manufacturer was no help. I submitted a simple "contact us" form on the manufacturers website and got a response within 48 hours. The manufacturer offered his service and Disaster 1 has not done anything. This was a large job over $350k and they still gave little or no supervision to the job and its still going on 2.75 years later. Their subcontracts stole from residents, didn't show up, and did poor work. They will take your money, over promise under deliver, and leave you with much less of a house than you started with.

I wanted to take a moment to brag about the spectacular service we are always given when we are in need and even when we aren't in need! Our area representative, Ben Kramer is simply the most geniuine business partner and also a valueable asset to Disastor One! This past winter Ben was quite proactive when NC was hit with unseasonably cold weather. Of coarse duty called and Ben made sure we were taken care of immediately. We had a sprinkler break at 7:30pm on a Tuesday, Ben was right there. When I called he had his teams on other jobs but was able to rework the schedule so a team could be onsite with us and ensure my residents were taken care of. The Disaster One team that arrived were more than professional... they handled everything in the quickest time possible and cleaned up every last portion. Christian, the lead tech on the scene not only supervised but ensured our HRP moto was followed and LIVED IT with our residents by ensureing he accomodated every need as one of the families had a 2 month old baby in the apartment which was the unit with substantial damage. I would recommend their services to anyone near and far. We cretainly appreciate D1 and everything they do for us and the Triad!

We are a local plumbing company that has the pleasure of providing plumbing services for Blusky’s projects. We cannot rate this company from a customers perspective, (although we have experienced hearing many many customers rave about how professional, and competent the project managers, technicians and representatives of blusky are and how well they have helped restore damage from such devastating events that happen to there home!) And I can testify that this company, although in such a tough industry, manage to impress me with how they handle their projects despite time, distressed customers and other challenging aspects. From Noe Salas, Chris Kearns, John Cecil, Ralph Snyder, Mike Hart, William Cauley, Russell wise, Brian Canoy, Ron Johnson and many others that I have not mentioned, everyone from this company I have every worked with has the upmost professionalism, and competence on their projects and they all have genuine concern for their customers interest.Fantastic company in my opinion!

We had a leaking pipe which caused water damage to one wall in our basement. We called Gary Fennie at Disaster One. He organized a team of expert individuals who took care of mitigation and restoration and our basement now looks good as new! I had to come back to give the plus side and change my overall rating of this company because the cleanup half was lacking and the reconstruction slow to get started, but overall we are happy with the end result. We were going on second month since water damage and had yet to have any reconstruction. Had five calls from the managing guy to set up a time for the flooring guy- and was told he would come 8:30-9:00 a.m., and at 11:30 when no one had shown up, I called to find out what was up and was told they will come that afternoon...NO CALL to tell me, so I sat there half the day waiting for no one. I had a sick cat and company coming and did not need that kind of stress. Top it off, no coordination between tear out and recon as I gave all the information to the tear out guy who said he would make a bag of the items needed (I supplied the store, item numbers, and original receipts for paint, tile, etc), but the second guy had no idea what it was I needed, so I am not sure WHY the first worker collected all the info and items. On the upside, the flooring man did a fine job of redoing our ceramic tile, though he carried off the extras that were supposed to have been left with us, the carpenters did a very good job, although we had to have a different wood than our birch on the bottoms of the cabinets, and they did match the color well enough that only a midget would notice it was the wrong wood. We had to get a plumber to fix pex pipe that was erroneously pierced by the insulation installers, but Disaster One deducted that amount from our total deductible, so that was fair. By far, the most impressive man was Francesco, who came with two men to brace the underside of the shower and the insulation we had to replace, and we were very pleased with how he and his two co-workers did it. Also, Christian, who oversaw the reconstruction, did get me some extra tiles and went out of his way to bring them by.

Another job well done! I've used them since '09 and I've been please ever since. Just last month I had a water heater leak on the third level in a apartment, flooded the vacant below, within 5 days the cleaning was done and everything was back to normal!

Disaster One does well in response time. Brandy Gardner has been very helpful when needed, and as an Insurance agent, that's important especially when customers are in tremendous need.
